© 2015, The Author(s). Unstable water level regime in the Kuibyshev Reservoir affects coastline formation as well as allocation and development of aquatic vegetation on the coast. These factors determine the composition and structure of biocenosis in shallow waters of the reservoir. The aim of this study was to reveal the patterns of formation, distribution and dynamics in phytoplankton communities in the shallow coastal waters on two reaches of the Kuibyshev Reservoir (Volga and Volga-Kama, Russia). These reaches differ by the extent of anthropogenic influence, protection from wind and waves and other environmental conditions. The research was done during the growing season of 2002 in the thickets of Typha angustifolia L. and Phragmites australis (Cav.) Trin. Ex Steud., as well as in the open water areas. Seasonal changes in the total biomass and abundance of phytoplankton in the thickets of macrophytes and in the open areas of the reservoir differed little. On the outer edge of the thickets, where intensive contact with the open water occurs, the highest algal species diversity and abundance were revealed, which is known as the “edge effect”. Two peaks of phytoplankton development with maximums in June–July and late August were observed. By the end of the summer, a decrease in water level led to the autumn outbreak in volvocine algae abundance and biomass. The maintaining of an optimal water level in the reservoir is recommended for controlling of water “blooming” and thus maintaining high water quality

Synthesis of aryl-substituted thieno[3,2-b]thiophene derivatives and their use for N,S-heterotetracene construction

Fiesselmann thiophene synthesis was applied for the convenient construction of thieno[3,2-b]thiophene derivatives. Thus, new 5- or 6-aryl-3-hydroxythieno[3,2-b]thiophene-2-carboxylates were obtained by condensation of 5- or 4-aryl-3-chlorothiophene-2-carbox-ylates, respectively, with methyl thioglycolate in the presence of potassium tert-butoxide. The saponification of the resulting esters, with decarboxylation of the intermediating acids, gave the corresponding thieno[3,2-b]thiophen-3(2H)-ones. The latter ketones were used to synthesize new N,S-heterotetracenes, namely 9H-thieno[2',3':4,5]thieno[3,2-b]indoles by their treatment with arylhydrazines in accordance with the Fischer indolization reaction. © 2019 Demina et al.; licensee Beilstein-Institut.Russian Foundation for Basic Research, RFBR: 18-33-20083This study was supported by the Russian Foundation for Basic Research, Grant No. 18-33-20083

    Get PDF
Purpose: At present, high and sometimes record indicators have been achieved for the individual branches of agricultural production. Further intensive development of agriculture is due to the search for new ways to increase labor productivity and lower production costs which is the main aim of this research. Design/Methodology/Approach: The methodological basis served as a systematic approach, which ensured comprehensiveness and purposefulness. Analytical, abstract-logical, economic-statistical, monographic and experimental research methods were also used in this work to examine problems and prospects of sectoral digitalization. Findings: The agro-industrial complex demonstrates the growth of production indicators and is on the rise. The target indicators, laid down in the Food Security Doctrine, have already been achieved by many indices. To a large extent, it is due to a significant increase in the agro-industrial complex. Practical implications: A proposed platform that would ensure a breakthrough in further technical modernization of production, can be created only if the technologies are improved based on their digitalization and orientation towards a specific consumer. Originality/Value: The pin-point introduction of digital technologies in agricultural production confirms the high efficiency of the full innovative technical modernization. The proposed digital transformation of management in the agro-industrial complex of Russia is the value of this research with its originality compared to other ideas.peer-reviewe

    Get PDF
Results of studies of heavy metals contents in fruticose epiphytic lichens in Karelia are presented and the influence of different sources on the elemental composition of lichens has been estimated. It has been shown, that long-range atmospheric transport influences strongly the accumulation of Pb, Zn, Cd, Sb. For Al, Fe and Co lithogenic source is the main one. In the Northern Karelia atmospheric transport of Cu, Co and Ni from metallurgic enterprises of the Murmansk Region is important source of these elements

Meromorphic traveling wave solutions of the complex cubic-quintic Ginzburg-Landau equation

We look for singlevalued solutions of the squared modulus M of the traveling wave reduction of the complex cubic-quintic Ginzburg-Landau equation. Using Clunie's lemma, we first prove that any meromorphic solution M is necessarily elliptic or degenerate elliptic. We then give the two canonical decompositions of the new elliptic solution recently obtained by the subequation method.Comment: 14 pages, no figure, to appear, Acta Applicandae Mathematica

Charm-sea Contribution to High-p_T \psi Production at the Fermilab Tevatron

The direct production of J/ψ(ψ)J/\psi(\psi') at large transverse momentum, pTMJ/ψp_T \gg M_{J/\psi}, at the Fermilab Tevatron is revisited. It is found that the sea-quark initiated processes dominate in the high-pTp_T region within the framework of color-singlet model, which is not widely realized. We think this finding is enlightening for further investigation on the charmonium production mechanism.Comment: Conclusions not changed, to appear in J. of Phys.

Use of multiparametric analysis of meteor showers for their parental bodies' genetic parameters determination

    Get PDF
© Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd. In this paper, the possibility of multiparametric analysis application for studying genetic connections between meteor showers and their parental bodies is considered. The modern methods of determining such connections take into account some parameters of parental bodies, such as size, orbital elements, and chemical composition. Obviously, all of these parameters refer to different physical substances. In this regard, simultaneous estimation of the impact of those parameters may be carried out with a given probability using regression analysis. The aim of this work is to develop a method of robust estimation of genetic parameters and use it for asteroid and meteor genetic connections analysis

Poloxomer 188 Has a Deleterious Effect on Dystrophic Skeletal Muscle Function

    Get PDF
Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is an X-linked, fatal muscle wasting disease for which there is currently no cure and limited palliative treatments. Poloxomer 188 (P188) is a tri-block copolymer that has been proposed as a potential treatment for cardiomyopathy in DMD patients. Despite the reported beneficial effects of P188 on dystrophic cardiac muscle function, the effects of P188 on dystrophic skeletal muscle function are relatively unknown. Mdx mice were injected intraperitoneally with 460 mg/kg or 30 mg/kg P188 dissolved in saline, or saline alone (control). The effect of single-dose and 2-week daily treatment was assessed using a muscle function test on the Tibialis Anterior (TA) muscle in situ in anaesthetised mice. The test comprises a warm up, measurement of the force-frequency relationship and a series of eccentric contractions with a 10% stretch that have previously been shown to cause a drop in maximum force in mdx mice. After 2 weeks of P188 treatment at either 30 or 460 mg/kg/day the drop in maximum force produced following eccentric contractions was significantly greater than that seen in saline treated control mice (P = 0.0001). Two week P188 treatment at either dose did not significantly change the force-frequency relationship or maximum isometric specific force produced by the TA muscle. In conclusion P188 treatment increases susceptibility to contraction-induced injury following eccentric contractions in dystrophic skeletal muscle and hence its suitability as a potential therapeutic for DMD should be reconsidered

On elliptic solutions of the quintic complex one-dimensional Ginzburg-Landau equation

The Conte-Musette method has been modified for the search of only elliptic solutions to systems of differential equations. A key idea of this a priory restriction is to simplify calculations by means of the use of a few Laurent series solutions instead of one and the use of the residue theorem. The application of our approach to the quintic complex one-dimensional Ginzburg-Landau equation (CGLE5) allows to find elliptic solutions in the wave form. We also find restrictions on coefficients, which are necessary conditions for the existence of elliptic solutions for the CGLE5. Using the investigation of the CGLE5 as an example, we demonstrate that to find elliptic solutions the analysis of a system of differential equations is more preferable than the analysis of the equivalent single differential equation.Comment: LaTeX, 21 page
