X-ray Diffraction Investigation of Sio2/Si Track Templates with Deposited Zn

    Get PDF
Si/SiO2 /Zn structures are fabricated by the track template synthesis. SEM and AFM images of the surface after electrochemical deposition of zinc were obtained. XRD analysis of the deposited samples showed the creation of zinc oxide nanocrystals with Miller indexes (200) at θ=62,30 and (201) at θ=69,50 (PDF#361451-etalon)

Luminescence of F2 and F3 + centres in LiF crystals irradiated with 12 MeV 12C ions

Dependences of the nanohardness and photoluminescence of F 2 and F 3 + centers on the depth in LiF crystals irradiated with 12 MeV 12 C ions to fluences 10 10 -10 15 ions/cm 2 were studied using laser scanning confocal microscopy, luminescent spectroscopy, and the nanoindentation method. The nanohardness measurements showed a significant hardening effect at the end of the ion run with the dominant contribution of defects formed by the mechanism of elastic collisions. The observed attenuation of the luminescence intensity at high fluences is associated with the intense nucleation of dislocations as traps for aggregate color centers. The work was carried out within the framework of the grant GF AP05134257 of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia as the Center of Excellence has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Framework Programme H2020-WIDESPREAD-01-2016-2017-TeamingPhase2 under grant agreement No. 739508, project CAMART

Synthesis of porous indium phosphide with nickel oxide crystallites on the surface

    Get PDF
In this paper, the technology of synthesis of crystallites and nanocrystallites of nickel oxide on the surface of indium phosphide is described. This technology consists of two stages. In the first stage, porous indium phosphide is formed on the surface of a single crystal of indium phosphide. The formation of such a porous layer provides better adhesion to the surface of the sample. The second stage involves the preparation of the solution that contains nickel ions, application of this solution to the surface of porous indium phosphide, followed by annealing. As a result, NiO/NiC2O4∙2H2O/por- -InP/mono-InP structure was formed. Surface morphological parameters were obtained using scanning electron microscopy and EDX-analysis of chemical composition. Chemical analysis confirmed the partial formation of nickel oxide from nickel oxalate layer by thermal annealing. Using scanning electron microscopy, it has been established that the crystallites have a large scatter in diameter, but they may be divided into three characteristic groups: macro-; meso- and nanocrystallites. Such structures may find prospects for application in electrochemical capacitors and lithium-ion batteries. Further research is needed for methodology improvement to obtain structures with predetermined controlled properties

Ion track template technique for fabrication of ZnSe2O5 nanocrystals

The work was performed under the grant of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan AP05134367 and Latvian grant lzpZnSe2O5 nanocrystals with an orthorhombic structure were synthesized by electrochemical deposition into a-SiO2/n-Si ion track template formed by 200 MeV Xe ion irradiation with the fluence of 107 ions/cm2. The lattice parameters determined by the X-ray diffraction and calculated by the CRYSTAL computer program package are very close to each other. It was shown that ZnSe2O5 has a direct band gap of 2.8 eV at the Γ-point. In addition, the calculated charge distribution and chemical bonds show that the crystal has an ion-covalent nature. The photoluminescence excited by photons at 300 nm has a low intensity arising mainly due to zinc and oxygen vacancies.Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan AP05134367; Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia as the Center of Excellence has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Framework Programme H2020-WIDESPREAD-01-2016-2017-TeamingPhase2 under grant agreement No. 739508, project CAMART
