    The aim of this article is to investigate heating value of candlenut shell Char briquette by experimental andtheoretical means. The experimental performs the High Heating Value HHV by Bomb Calorimeter PARR12611, and investigation in the theoretical ones by using Dulong's formula.The result shows that the heating value of HHV is 10697,4 Btu/lbm, and by Dulong's formula is10549,Btu/lb. There is 1,16% deviation of the two means because in the Dulong's does not includedissociation effec

    Tujuan pengkajian ini untuk mendapatkan besaran suhu nyala adiabatik untuk setiap jenis batubara dunia yang dibagi atas 4 kelas yaitu batubara antracite, batubara bituminous, batubara subituminous dan batubara lignite. Disamping besaran suhu nyala adiabatik juga dikaji hubungannnya dengan kandungan konstituen dari setiap batubara tersebut di atas.Metode pengkajian dilakukan dengan menghitung suhu nyala adiabatik berdasarkan kandungan konstituen yaitu kandungan carbon, hidrogen, oksigen dan nitrogen.Hasil yang dicapai adalah suhu nyala adiabatik masing-masing batubara yaitu batubara antracite 1913 0C, batubara bituminous 1892 0C, batubara subitumionous 1988 0C dan batubara lignite 2026 0C

    The performance of refrigeration system are affected by condenser, evaporator ,compressor and regulating valve. Besides cooling system itself air in the system are also considered to the performance. The aim of this research to investigate the effect of air in the refrigeration system that cause the performance of system. The result of this research indicates that coefficient of performance (COP)decrease falls to 37 % (from 8.4 to 5.28) due to the air in refrigerations system, on the contrary there is increasing about 40 % (from 25 kJ/kg to 35 kJ/kg)of energy in gernerating compresso

    Background of this investigation is reasoned by fuel consumptions focusing on oil and gas which they are limited resource energy and its cost rising any time. On the other side,  available of biomass energy  is still overflow and within renewable resources. This research investigates thermal characteristic’s of cacao char briquette that consists of High Heating Value (HHV), Volatile Matters (VM), Moisture (M), Ash (A), thermal efficiency and emission gas of real combustions on briquette stove. The result of investigations are; HHV=6308.207 kcal/kg, VM=58,75%, M=3.27%,A=23.53%, FC= 25.55%, maximum thermal efficiency is 35.67% and emissions gas consist of CO and CO2 are  safe of  human being according to WHO Standard

    The aim of this research is to find out of thermal characteristics of husk briquette with glue materials that is made of tapioca powder with content variations; 7%, 10% and 15%.This research used experiment method to find out of thermal characteristic consists of: High Heating Value HHV, Moisture content M, Ash content A, Volatile Matters content VM, Fixed Carbon Content FC and combustions efficiency. The result of investigations are; HHV = 2789 cal/g, M = 2.67%, A = 39.06 %, VM = 42.92%, FC= 15.53% and combustions efficiency 59.07%. All of them are find out from 7% of glue content materials
