    Peningkatan Berpikir Kritis melalui Aktivitas Model Think Pair Share dan Talking Stick

    This research was based on the problems of the low capacity to think critically and learning activity in the class XI SMA Ma'arif 05 Padang Ratu years Lessons 2015/2016. The purpose of this research was the use of cooperative learning model think pair share and talking stick type to see a difference in the capacity think critically by taking into account the activity of students. Research methodology used in this research is comparative research with experiment. Approach this research was experimental with the factorials design. The sample collection was using a saturated sample technique. Class XIA use think pair share and class XIB use talking stick. The research results showed that (1) there is a difference in the critical thinking ability between class which use the cooperative mode think pair share type and those who use learning model type talking stick and (2) the average level of critical thinking ability of history subjects who had use the cooperative learning model type is higher than those use the learning model type talking stick.Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi masalah rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis dan aktivitas pembelajaran di kelas XI SMA Ma'arif 05 Padang Ratu Tahun Pelajaran 2015/2016. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share dan tipe Talking Stick untuk melihat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis dengan memperhatikan aktivitas siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian komparatif dengan pendekatan eksperimen. Penelitian ini bersifat eksperimental semu dengan desain faktorial. Pengambilan sampel dengan menggunakan teknik sampel jenuh. kelas XIA menggunakan Think Pair Share dan kelas XIB menggunakan Talking Stick. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) ada perbedaan kemampuan Berfikir Kritis antara kelas yang menggunakan model pembejaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share dan yang menggunakan model pembelajaran tipe Talking Stick dan (2) Rata-rata tingkat Berfikir Kritis pada mata pelajaran Sejarah yang diajar menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan yang menggunakan model pembelajaran tipe Talking Stick

    Animal Welfare As Stress Management to Improve Beef Cattle Reproduction

    The efficiency of reproduction practices is one of the indicators of animal health and animal welfare situation. Deprived reproductive performance in a beef cattle farm may indicate the presence of animal welfare problems. In this study, we analyze the research and reviews on how the poor practices of animal welfare will affect the reproduction performance of beef cattle. Based on the analysis, we found that poor practical ofanimal welfare in cattle such as overcrowded population, heat stress, and discomfort animal will give a bad impact in the secretion of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) and cortisol hormone. Imbalance of hormones secretion may induce ovarian cycle disorder and depressing immunity of the uterine tract. The high risk of those disorders may cause bad reproduction performance indicator which is prolonged DO, reduced CR, and increased S/C and CI. We suggest that good animal welfare practices as stress management in beef cattle are expected to overcome the reproduction problems and enhance the animal’s immunity. In conclusion, good animal welfare practices prevent the occurrence of a reproduction problem and improve the beef cattle reproduction through better animal health.     Sliding Mode Observer Based Controller for Active Steering Control

    The purpose of this paper is to enhance the performance of steering control of a vehicle. A nonlinear sliding mode observer based active steering controller that will overcome the disturbances such as road condition and crosswind is proposed. Condition of stability is given by using Lyapunov stability theory that relates to sliding mode characteristics. The controller proves that it is able to stabilize the steering wheel better when disturbances such as braking action and crosswind are included in the system. Lastly, simulations are given to prove the validity of the controller stability. In the simulations, comparisons are made between the outcome of the uncontrolled, Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR), Sliding Mode Controller (SMC) and Sliding Mode Observer Based Controller (SMOC)

    Dipole Magnetization Effect to Kerosene Characteristics. Investigation of kerosene characteristics has been done byex-situ dipole magnetization. The results show that magnetization technique can be able to influence kerosenecharacteristics. Polarity and viscosity of the kerosene are observed by measuring refractive index and viscosity. An hourof 4330 Gauss flux magnetic will increase refractive index from 1.447 to 1.449 and decrease the viscosity from 1.278 to1.256. Those changing support de-clustering occurrence and polarity increment of kerosene molecule. Gaschromatography and infrared result show that those changing do not alter kerosene structure and composition

    β-divergence has been studied for years, but it is yet to be discovered thoroughly. In this paper, we proposed the nonnegative matrix factorization (NMF) by using β-divergence in blind source separation (BSS) on biomedical field. The proposed idea is basically aimed at the separation of normal heart sound with normal lung sound. Temporal codes and spectral basis were modelled into a separated source, which is applied to the synthesis and real life data using multiplicative update rules. In the experiment, estimated and original source were compared to evaluate the performance of various source separation algorithms within a general framework, where the original sources and the noise that perturbed the mixture were included

    Increasing water demand is caused of increasing population at Tasimalaya Regency, inversely with water supply to that area. This problem is solved by constructing a reservoir located in Tasikmalaya regency, West Java that is the Manonjaya Dam. Manonjaya Dam is a earthfill dam with a vertical core which is built at Citanduy River with 590.422 km2 of catchment area. This aims of dam to fulfill public water supply and irrigation at Tasimalaya Regency. Manonjaya Dam is designed with 100 years of return period with inflow discharge valued 513.9 m3/second. Manonjaya Dam is designed 23.5 meters of height, with 3,9 million cubic meters of capacity. The dam has equipped with 3,5 meters of diameter outlet pipe, spillway with 30 meters of width, and USBR III of stilling basin. Construction cost of Manonjaya Dam is around 154 billion Rupiahs with scheduled for 33 weeks

    The Development of Wireless Power Transfer Technologies for Mobile Charging in Vehicles using Inductive Approach

    Nowadays, the mobile charging in vehicle is a must and therefore, such technology is now available in every vehicle through wired connection approach. Using this wired connection to power up mobile device in the vehicle might be inconvenience to the user. Thus, this project aims to develop a wireless power transfer technology to power up the mobile device in a vehicle. Through this, the users will not facing difficulty of charging their device while driving. To be specific, the Inductive Power Transfer (IPT) is applied here due to its advantages where it can transfer power wirelessly with a higher efficiency in a short range. To make this work, a Class E inverter is designed to convert a direct current (DC) supply into alternating current (AC) supply at a high frequency with a higher efficiency. Furthermore, pi-2-a impedance matching circuit is also applied in this work in order to improve the efficiency of such system. To validate the efficiency of the proposed method, analysis on the gap distance between the two magnetic coils, transmitter and receiver, are performed through simulation and experimental work. At the end of this work, the designed prototype is able to yield approximately 70 % in terms of output efficiency and able to power up the mobile device wirelessly

    Performance Analysis of TOA-based Positioning in LTE by utilizing MIMO Feature

    This paper presents the performance analysis of a TOA-based positioning in LTE by utilizing MIMO feature. In this work, the wireless channels between the mobile terminal (MT) and eNodeBs are modeled by using a geometric-based stochastic channel models in WINNER II to measure the propagation delay. Then, the location of the MT is estimated by using the geometric-based multiple linear line of position (MLLOP) technique. We focus the analysis on the typical urban microcell scenario (B1 Hotspot) with three fixed-located eNodeBs and a randomly located mobile terminal. The simulation works are executed in both LOS and NLOS conditions. We compare the performance of MIMO feature utilization to SISO antenna configuration system based on root mean square error. The results show that utilizing MIMO feature enhances the estimation accuracy. The number of antenna elements at the receiver and transmitter greatly influence the estimation accuracy of MT’s position. The best performance is achieved by utilizing MIMO 4x4 configuration that gives the estimation error of less than 18m and 25m for 67% and 90% of the time respectively
