The new algicolous fungus Epibryon kondratyukii sp. nov. grows on Coccomyxa-like films on leaves of Polytrichum piliferum in Southern Ukraine. The species is characterized by sessile black setose pseudothecia, short 0–2-celled paraphysoids, 8-spored fissitunicate asci and hyaline 0–1-septate ascospores. The lichenicolous fungi Adelococcus interlatens, Ascochyta candelariellicola, Clypeococcum psoromatis, Epithamnolia rangiferinae, Lawalreea lecanorae, Llimoniella adnata, Merismatium decolorans, Sphaerellothecium cladoniae, Stigmidium bellemerei, S. ramalinae and Weddellomyces epicallopisma are new to the mycobiota of the Ukraine. Cladonia foliacea is a new host for Epithamnolia rangiferinae, Lecidea fuscoatra for Katherinomyces cetrariae, and Flavoplaca austrocitrina for Weddellomyces epicallopisma

Data about lichen biota of the Rusova beam (Velykooleksandrivka district, Kherson region) are given. The list of taxa include 96 species of lichens and 8 species of lichenicolous fungi. Among them, Blastenia hungarica (H. Magn.) Arup, Søchting & Frödén was collected on the Pinus bark and Placynthium lismorense (Cromb.) Vain. growing on the moist surface of limestone are new for the plains part of Ukraine. Three species of the lichens (Cetraria aculeata (Schreb.) Fr. (=C. steppae (Savicz) Kärnefelt), Scytinium schraderi (Ach.) Otálora, PM Jørg. & Wedin, Xanthoparmelia camtschadalis (Ach.) Hale) are listed in the Red Data Book of Ukraine, and seven species (Anaptychia ciliaris (L.) Körb., Bacidia bagliettoana (A.Massal. & De Not.) Jatta, Caloplaca stillicidiorum (Vahl) Lynge, Flavoparmelia caperata (L.) Hale, Placidiopsis cinerascens (Nyl.) O.Breuss, Usnea hirta (L.) Weber ex F.H.Wigg. and Xanthoparmelia pokornyi (Körb.) O.Blanco, A.Crespo, Elix, D. Hawksw. & Lumbsch) are listed in the Red List of Kherson region

Advances in botany and ecology: 11.The data about first record of Cercidospora macrospora anamorph stage are given. It characterized by globose pycnidia 120 150 × 160 200 μm, dark blue pycnidial wall, monoblastic cylindrical conidiogenous cells and simple, hyaline, bacilliform conidia 4.75 7.5 × 0.75 2.0 μm

Data about Stigmidium gyrophorarum (Arnold) D. Hawksw. as a new species of lichenicolous fungi for Ukraine are presented. Growth of this lichenicolous fungus on thallus of Umbilicaria cylindrica (L.) Delise on the horizontal surface of the sandstone. This species is characterized by brown vegetative mycelium, black globose semi-immersed perithecioid ascomata, pale brown ascomatal wall that is composed of 4–6 layers of cells, subcylindrical, bitunicate, 8-spored asci and 1-septate ascospores, hyaline at first but becoming olivaceous with age. Each spore has an upper cell larger than the lower cell and contained a few oil drops. The descriptions, illustrations, localities, ecological and distribution data for new species are provided

Darmostuk V. V., Khodosovtsev A.Ye. 2017 – Lichenicolous fungi of Ukraine: an annotated checklist. Studies in Fungi 2(1), 138–156, Doi 10.5943/sif/2/1/16The checklist is based on 137 references and it includes data on the distribution of 220 taxa of lichenicolous fungi in Ukraine. Four species are based on dubious records. The Crimea (80 species) and Carpathians Mts (64 species) have highest observed species diversity of the lichenicolous fungi. Among plain territories, most species-rich regions are Kherson (64 species) and Mykolaiv (37 species), and both regions were intensively surveyed for lichenicolous fungi. Most frequent host genera recorded are Lecanora s. lat. (23 species), Cladonia (17 species), Xanthoria s. lat. (15 species), Aspicilia s. lat. (14 species) and Caloplaca s. lat. (13 species). Most diverse taxonomical groups of lichenicolous fungi recorded are Capnodiales (21 species), Arthoniales (18 species) and Hypocreales (13 species). Katherinomyces cetrariae, Lichenochora hypanica, Lichenostigma svandae, Norrlinia medoborensis, Phoma pisutii, Pronectria diplococca, P. caloplacae, Rosellinula frustulosae, Sphaerellothecium aculeatae, Pleospora xanthoriae, Trichoconis hafellneri and Zwackhiomyces polischukii were described from type localities in Ukraine
