L'obiettivo principale di questo lavoro di tesi è stato lo sviluppo di un classificatore di testi che sfrutta l'annotazione semantica di documenti fornita da TAGME, uno strumento che che individua termini significativi all'interno di testi non strutturati e le collega a pertinenti pagine di wikipedia. Il target della classificazione è rappresentato da testi particolarmente brevi, nell'ordine dei 10-15 termini, un contesto dove il paradigma bag-of-words risulta poco efficace

Fisher Metric, Geometric Entanglement and Spin Networks

Starting from recent results on the geometric formulation of quantum mechanics, we propose a new information geometric characterization of entanglement for spin network states in the context of quantum gravity. For the simple case of a single-link fixed graph (Wilson line), we detail the construction of a Riemannian Fisher metric tensor and a symplectic structure on the graph Hilbert space, showing how these encode the whole information about separability and entanglement. In particular, the Fisher metric defines an entanglement monotone which provides a notion of distance among states in the Hilbert space. In the maximally entangled gauge-invariant case, the entanglement monotone is proportional to a power of the area of the surface dual to the link thus supporting a connection between entanglement and the (simplicial) geometric properties of spin network states. We further extend such analysis to the study of non-local correlations between two non-adjacent regions of a generic spin network graph characterized by the bipartite unfolding of an Intertwiner state. Our analysis confirms the interpretation of spin network bonds as a result of entanglement and to regard the same spin network graph as an information graph, whose connectivity encodes, both at the local and non-local level, the quantum correlations among its parts. Self-Heating Induced Instability of a Non-Linear Inductor in a SMPS: a Case Study

This paper proposes a case study to show that the non-linear operation of a power inductor in a SMPS can induce instability of the control system leading to overheating of the inductor beyond its allowable temperature and to an excessive peak of the maximum current. The case study is performed by a commercial ferrite inductor employed in a synchronous boost converter encompassing a control system to adjust the duty cycle, assuring a constant output voltage. The Architecture can’t be a private language; it’s sentenced to be a public recitation. It is a particular type ofrecitation because of the elements upon which the constructed world is based, have lost their primitive meaning, their mythical and symbolic foundation over time. It’s also true for the art of composing them. From the shipwreck of history to us, we receive systems of suspended signals, as if we had almost to operate with hieroglyphs whose decoding remains uncertain. This is a condition that is completely revealed when the architecture gets away from a specific destiny and from a definite utility, and shows itself “as a system”: as in the scenes of old theaters, or in porte urbiche, or in certain façades types. Interrogating the interconnected biological networks in liver diseases reveals the core components of a perturbed homeostatic system.

This thesis explores the interplay between genetics, environment, and immunological regulation in metabolic associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD), metabolic steatohepatitis (MeSH), and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), focusing on liver response to dietary exposome and bone marrow hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs) activity. Using weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA), we assessed mRNA expression in murine models and human datasets, identifying conserved metabolic and immunological programs and discrepancies in immune responses. The heightened immune response in certain mouse models, reflective of bone marrow HSPCs response, is found protective and consistent with human data, emphasizing the crucial role of immune system-tumorigenesis interplay. Investigating regulatory factors, we spotlight bile acids’ significance. Maintaining a robust immune response is linked to reduced liver tumor burden, with HSPC dietary response as a potential regulatory factor. While cholesterol homeostasis disruptions alone don’t stimulate HSPCs, when combined with disrupted bile acid homeostasis, they significantly impact HSPCs. Rescuing bile acid synthesis dampens HSPC activity, underscoring bile acids' regulatory role. Our findings provide valuable insights into the intricate regulatory networks governing liver disease, presenting potential new avenues for research, including exploring bile acid metabolism’s direct regulation of bone marrow HSPCs, assessing the long-term impact of HSPC stimulation, and investigating liver cholesterol homeostasis’s effect on immunotherapy response. This research suggests exploration of minimal therapeutics targeting sensitive targets and context-driven interpretation in animal model extrapolation. Overall, our experimental approach shows potential in aiding the development of effective treatments for liver diseases, paving the way for future studies in this field
