The Innovation-to-Occupations Ontology: Linking Business Transformation Initiatives to Occupations and Skills
The fast adoption of new technologies forces companies to continuously adapt
their operations making it harder to predict workforce requirements. Several
recent studies have attempted to predict the emergence of new roles and skills
in the labour market from online job ads. This paper aims to present a novel
ontology linking business transformation initiatives to occupations and an
approach to automatically populating it by leveraging embeddings extracted from
job ads and Wikipedia pages on business transformation and emerging
technologies topics. To our knowledge, no previous research explicitly links
business transformation initiatives, like the adoption of new technologies or
the entry into new markets, to the roles needed. Our approach successfully
matches occupations to transformation initiatives under ten different
scenarios, five linked to technology adoption and five related to business.
This framework presents an innovative approach to guide enterprises and
educational institutions on the workforce requirements for specific business
transformation initiatives.Comment: 14 pages, 3 figures, Camera-ready version in ACIS 202
Multivariate data analysis to assess dry powder inhalers performance from powder properties
The study aimed at investigating the correlations among the physical and bulk properties of carrier based dry powder inhaler formulations and the performance of the powder inhaler device estimated by in-vitro tests for a specific active pharmaceutical ingredient (API), and at obtaining predictive models for the in-vitro performance.
Samples from scale-up process batches having different formulations, process settings and bulk size, were characterized by rheological, density and particle size tests. In vitro performance was evaluated by several parameters obtained by a dosage unit sampling apparatus (DUSA) and a next generation impactor (NGI). Correlations between powder properties and performance propertieswere established using partial least square (PLS)
regression analysis. Variable importance in projection (VIP)was used in order to assess the most influential powder characterization variables to estimate the analytical ones. Particle size, density and rate of flowability are significant for modeling the Delivered Dose of the API and the total quantity of powder related to each dose. Powder characterization variables, describing the degree of cohesiveness and the flow properties of powder, are related
to the total amount of the active ingredient for different formulations. DUSA test variables were satisfactory predicted on the basis of powder characterization variables, while NGI performance variables were predicted with higher error
WDR79/TCAB1 plays a conserved role in the control of locomotion and ameliorates phenotypic defects in SMA models
SMN (Survival Motor Neuron) deficiency is the predominant cause of spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), a severe neurodegenerative disorder that can lead to progressive paralysis and death. Although SMN is required in every cell for proper RNA metabolism, the reason why its loss is especially critical in the motor system is still unclear. SMA genetic models have been employed to identify several modifiers that can ameliorate the deficits induced by SMN depletion. Here we focus on WDR79/TCAB1, a protein important for the biogenesis of several RNA species that has been shown to physically interact with SMN in human cells. We show that WDR79 depletion results in locomotion defects in both Drosophila and Caenorhabditis elegans similar to those elicited by SMN depletion. Consistent with this observation, we find that SMN overexpression rescues the WDR79 loss-of-function phenotype in flies. Most importantly, we also found that WDR79 overexpression ameliorates the locomotion defects induced by SMN depletion in both flies and worms. Our results collectively suggest that WDR79 and SMN play evolutionarily conserved cooperative functions in the nervous system and suggest that WDR79/TCAB1 may have the potential to modify SMA pathogenesis

nula (H0) y se rechaza la hipótesis alterna (Ha), con un nivel de significancia de α = 0.05
Parents' views and experiences of the Home Mathematics Environment: A cross-country study
The purpose of the current study was to qualitatively explore the home mathematical environment across two regions in two different countries (i.e., Cuba and Mexico), replicating a qualitative study previously conducted in Northern Ireland (NI), United Kingdom (UK; Cahoon et al., 2017). Semi-structured interviews with parents/caregivers of children (3-5-year-olds) in both Mexico (n = 13) and Cuba (n = 40) were completed to investigate their views, experiences and attitudes towards the home mathematical environment. Thematic analysis was used to explore themes relevant to the home mathematical environment. Three consistent themes were found in the Mexican and Cuban data: Numeracy Environment Structure, Expectations and Attitudes and Views of Technology. Two unique themes were found in the Mexico data: Interactions Related to Reading or Mathematics, and Child’s Attitudes in Relation to Mathematics. One unique theme was found in the Cuban interviews: Interactions for Learning. Although diverse themes were identified, consistencies were also observed. This suggests that some home numeracy practices may be universal in nature. This research increases understanding of human development in context
Multi-Word Expressions in spoken language: PoliSdict
The term multiword expressions (MWEs) is referred-to a group of words with a unitary meaning, not inferred from that of the words that compose it, both in current use and in technical-specialized languages. In this paper, we describe PoliSdict an Italian electronic dictionary composed of multi-word expressions (MWEs) automatically extracted from a multimodal corpus grounded on political speech language, currently being developed at the "Maurice Gross" Laboratory of the Department of Political Sciences, Social and Communication of the University of Salerno, thanks to a loan from the company Network Contacts. We introduce the methodology of creation and the first results of a systematic analysis which considered terminological labels, frequency labels, recurring syntactic patterns, further proposing an associated ontology.
The human VGF-derived bioactive peptide TLQP-21 binds heat shock 71 kDa protein 8 (HSPA8) on the surface of SH-SY5Y cells
VGF (non-acronymic)is a secreted chromogranin/secretogranin that gives rise to a number of bioactive peptides by a complex proteolysis mechanism. VGF-derived peptides exert an extensive array of biological effects in energy metabolism, mood regulation, pain, gastric secretion function, reproduction and, perhaps, cancer. It is therefore surprising that very little is known about receptors and binding partners of VGF-derived peptides and their downstream molecular mechanisms of action. Here, using affinity chromatography and mass spectrometry-based protein identification, we have identified the heat shock cognate 71 kDa protein A8 (HSPA8)as a binding partner of human TLQP-21 on the surface of human neuroblastomaSH-SY5Y cells. Binding of TLQP-21 to membrane associated HSPA8 in live SH-SY5Y cells was further supported by cross-linking to live cells. Interaction between HSPA8 and TLQP-21 was confirmed in vitro by label-free Dynamic Mass Redistribution (DMR) studies. Furthermore, molecular modeling studies show that TLQP-21 can be docked into the HSPA8 peptide binding pocket. Identification of HSPA8 as a cell surface binding partner of TLQP-21 opens new avenues to explore the molecular mechanisms of its physiological actions, and of pharmacological modulation thereof. This work was supported by ERANETNEURON grant DISCover through the Spanish

Cephalometric components and their implications in mandibular positioning
The mandibular position is determined by several physiological factors, which should be considered for diagnosis, therapy and stability. Sixty-eight lateral skull radiographs were taken and plotted to determine the relationship of the occlusal plane with the mandibular position among others. A Spearman statistical analysis was performed to determine the relationship between these variables. The occlusal plane showed a statistically significant correlation with mandibular position
