A Software Tool for Dealing with Spiking Neural P Systems

    Get PDF
Software simulators for P system are nowadays the main tool to carry out experiments in the eld of Membrane Computing. Although the simulation of a P system is a quite complex task, current simulators have been successfully used for pedagogical purposes and also as assistant tools for researchers. In this paper we present a rst software tool for dealing with Spiking Neural P Systems. This tool outputs the transition diagram of a given system in a step-by-step mode. The code is modular and exible enough to be adapted for further research tasks.Ministerio de Educación y Ciencia TIN2005-09345-C04-01Junta de Andalucía TIC-58

Does school physical education really contribute to accelerometer-measured daily physical activity and non sedentary behaviour in high school students?

Política de acceso abierto tomada de: https://v2.sherpa.ac.uk/id/publication/5753?template=romeoPhysical education has been highlighted as an important environment for physical activity promotion, however, to our knowledge there are no previous studies examining the contribution of physical education to daily accelerometer-measured physical activity and non sedentary behaviour. The purpose was to compare the accelerometer-measured physical activity and sedentary behaviour between physical education, non-physical education and weekend days in adolescents. Of the 394 students from a Spanish high school that were invited to participate, 158 students (83 boys and 75 girls) aged 13-16 years were analyzed (wear time ≥ 600 min). Participants’ physical activity and sedentary behaviour were objectively-measured by GT3X+ accelerometers during physical education (one session), non-physical education and weekend days. Results indicated that overall adolescents had statistically significant greater physical activity levels and lower values of sedentary behaviour on physical education days than on non-physical education and weekend days (e.g., moderate-to-vigorous physical activity = 71, 54 and 57 min; sedentary = 710, 740 and 723 min) (p < 0.05). Physical education contributes significantly to reducing students’ daily physical inactivity and sedentary behaviour. Increasing the number of physical education classes seems to be an effective strategy to reduce the high current prevalence of physical inactivity and sedentary behaviour in adolescence. This work was supported by the Research Own Plan of the Vice President of Research and Transfer of the University of Granada [grant number CP29012016-77]

Reformas al Estado Social en América Latina: un análisis desde el desarrollo en el nuevo constitucionalismo latinoamericano

Abstract: The New Latin-American Constitutionalism (NCL) is a new theory represented by the last-two decades constitutions of Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, and Bolivia. These constitutional texts share special characteristics in their originality and their comprehension of the features of their societies, which have originated new mechanism and institutions in constitutional theory, in order to advance the development of their nations. This paper analyzes the aspects of democracy, economic regulation, and peace building, as fundamental elements of NCL, in order to prove the advance in social development of those States.

How Does a P System Sound?

    Get PDF
P systems are computational devices versatile enough to represent many real-life scenarios. In this paper, we present a first interpretation for P systems where a computation produces a set of sounds. The idea is to associate sounds to the application of specific rules in the P system. The application of such rules produces sounds of one time unit. Different rules produce different sounds. The combination of such sounds along time can be interpreted as music.Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación TIN2008-04487-EMinisterio de Ciencia e Innovación TIN-2009-13192Junta de Andalucía P08-TIC-0420

A software tool for verification of Spiking Neural P Systems

    Get PDF
The formal verification of a Spiking Neural P System (SN P Systems, for short) designed for solving a given problem is usually a hard task. Basically, the verification process consists of the search of invariant formulae such that, once proved their validity, show the right answer to the problem. Even though there does not exist a general methodology for verifying SN P Systems, in (Pa˘un et al., Int J Found Comput Sci 17(4):975– 1002, 2006) a new tool based on the transition diagram of the P system has been developed for helping the researcher in the search of invariant formulae. In this paper we show a software tool which allows to generate the transition diagram of an SN P System in an automatic way, so it can be considered as an assistant for the formal verification of such computational devices.Ministerio de Educación y Ciencia TIN2006-13425Junta de Andalucía TIC-58

Testing Einstein’s Formula on Brownian Motion Using Membrane Computing

Brownian motion refers to erratic movements of small particles of solid matter suspended in a fluid and it is the basis of the development of many fractals found in Nature. In this paper we use the Membrane Computing model of P systems with membrane creation and the software tool JPLANT in order to check the Einstein’s theory on the Mean Square Displacement of Brownian motion.Ministerio de Educación y Ciencia TIN2006-13425Junta de Andalucía TIC-58
