    Skip DETR: end-to-end Skip connection model for small object detection in forestry pest dataset

    Object detection has a wide range of applications in forestry pest control. However, forest pest detection faces the challenges of a lack of datasets and low accuracy of small target detection. DETR is an end-to-end object detection model based on the transformer, which has the advantages of simple structure and easy migration. However, the object query initialization of DETR is random, and random initialization will cause the model convergence to be slow and unstable. At the same time, the correlation between different network layers is not strong, resulting in DETR is not very ideal in small object training, optimization, and performance. In order to alleviate these problems, we propose Skip DETR, which improves the feature fusion between different network layers through skip connection and the introduction of spatial pyramid pooling layers so as to improve the detection results of small objects. We performed experiments on Forestry Pest Datasets, and the experimental results showed significant AP improvements in our method. When the value of IoU is 0.5, our method is 7.7% higher than the baseline and 6.1% higher than the detection result of small objects. Experimental results show that the application of skip connection and spatial pyramid pooling layer in the detection framework can effectively improve the effect of small-sample obiect detection

    Recently, the problem of using efficient the number of mobile devices starting from multi-sink to go to charge and collect data of sensors such that sensors can work forever has received a great deal of attention in Wireless Rechargeable Sensor Network (WRSN). Many methods have been proposed for the WRSN systems such that mobile device can charge and collect data from sensors. However, most of previous works often require lots of mobile devices while the cost of mobile device is very high. In this paper, we investigate the Periodic Energy Replenishment and Data Collection with multiple sink (PERDCMS) problem and propose a new algorithm, called the Mobile Device Scheduling Algorithm (MDSA), to using limited number of mobile devices for charging and collecting data for sensors.     New Camellia species in section Piquetia have recently been discovered. It is necessary to enumerate the number of species and update the specific characteristics of this section. Based on the study of more than 30 pieces of literature and a large number of specimens, a total of 15 species belonging to section Piquetia, including two new species, are identified. A taxonomic key to all species is provided, and typical characteristics of the section are also discussed. Information on the distribution, ecology, and conservation status of each species, as well as notes on the differences between closely related species, is also provided.

    Dendrobium trankimianum T. Yukawa is a beautiful, endemic orchid of Vietnam, a new species with a first - published description in 2004. It is very rare and expected to be added to the IUCN Red List status - CR. In vitro studies of orchid D. trankimianum T. Yukawa were conducted in order to conserve and increase the genetic pool of this precious wild orchid species. The results showed that full-strength MS medium supplemented with 2.0 mg/L BA and 0.5 mg/L NAA (10.24 PLBs/explant; 90.11% explants formed PLBs) or full-strength MS medium supplemented with 1.5 mg/L TDZ and 0.5 mg/L NAA (14.11 PLBs/explant; 92.06% explants formed PLBs) were the most suitable for protocorm formation. For subculture, suitable growth of shoots were obtained on full-strength MS medium supplemented 1.5 mg/L BA (22.35 shoots/explant; shoots length of 1.96 cm) and full-strength MS medium supplemented with 60 g ripe banana per liter (25.11 shoots/explant; shoots length of 2.12 cm). The shoots in vitro were transferred to half-strength MS supplemented with different concentrations of IAA, IBA and NAA to investigate root formation. The best rooting occurred at 0,5 mg/L NAA (7.91 roots/shoot; root length of 4.01 cm; 98.51% root formation). The plantlets with uniform growth were planted on different substrate: Eco clean soil, Coconut fiber, Fern fiber, 50% Rice husk in combination with 50% Eco clean soil for research the most suitable substrate. After 60 days of transplantion and acclimatization, the result showed that Fern fiber was suitable substrate for plantlet growth in a nursery garden (8.0 roots/ explant; root length of 5.5 cm; survival rate of 93.29%)

    The genome evolution and domestication of tropical fruit mango

    Background: Mango is one of the world’s most important tropical fruits. It belongs to the family Anacardiaceae, which includes several other economically important species, notably cashew, sumac and pistachio from other genera. Many species in this family produce family-specific urushiols and related phenols, which can induce contact dermatitis. Results: We generate a chromosome-scale genome assembly of mango, providing a reference genome for the Anacardiaceae family. Our results indicate the occurrence of a recent whole-genome duplication (WGD) event in mango. Duplicated genes preferentially retained include photosynthetic, photorespiration, and lipid metabolic genes that may have provided adaptive advantages to sharp historical decreases in atmospheric carbon dioxide and global temperatures. A notable example of an extended gene family is the chalcone synthase (CHS) family of genes, and particular genes in this family show universally higher expression in peels than in flesh, likely for the biosynthesis of urushiols and related phenols. Genome resequencing reveals two distinct groups of mango varieties, with commercial varieties clustered with India germplasms and demonstrating allelic admixture, and indigenous varieties from Southeast Asia in the second group. Landraces indigenous in China formed distinct clades, and some showed admixture in genomes. Conclusions: Analysis of chromosome-scale mango genome sequences reveals photosynthesis and lipid metabolism are preferentially retained after a recent WGD event, and expansion of CHS genes is likely associated with urushiol biosynthesis in mango. Genome resequencing clarifies two groups of mango varieties, discovers allelic admixture in commercial varieties, and shows distinct genetic background of landraces

    Prognostication of chronic disorders of consciousness using brain functional networks and clinical characteristics

    Disorders of consciousness are a heterogeneous mixture of different diseases or injuries. Although some indicators and models have been proposed for prognostication, any single method when used alone carries a high risk of false prediction. This study aimed to develop a multidomain prognostic model that combines resting state functional MRI with three clinical characteristics to predict one year outcomes at the single-subject level. The model discriminated between patients who would later recover consciousness and those who would not with an accuracy of around 90% on three datasets from two medical centers. It was also able to identify the prognostic importance of different predictors, including brain functions and clinical characteristics. To our knowledge, this is the first implementation reported of a multidomain prognostic model based on resting state functional MRI and clinical characteristics in chronic disorders of consciousness. We therefore suggest that this novel prognostic model is accurate, robust, and interpretable.Comment: Although some prognostic indicators and models have been proposed for disorders of consciousness, each single method when used alone carries risks of false prediction.     Background: We previously reported that ginsenoside Re (GRe) attenuated against methamphetamine (MA)-induced neurotoxicity via anti-inflammatory and antioxidant potentials. We also demonstrated that dynorphin possesses anti-inflammatory and antioxidant potentials against dopaminergic loss, and that balance between dynorphin and substance P is important for dopaminergic neuroprotection. Thus, we examined whether GRe positively affects interactive modulation between dynorphin and substance P against MA neurotoxicity in mice. Methods: We examined changes in dynorphin peptide level, prodynorphin mRNA, and substance P mRNA, substance P-immunoreactivity, homeostasis in enzymatic antioxidant system, oxidative parameter, microglial activation, and pro-apoptotic parameter after a neurotoxic dose of MA to clarify the effects of GRe, prodynorphin knockout, pharmacological inhibition of κ-opioid receptor (i.e., nor-binaltorphimine), or neurokinin 1 (NK1) receptor (i.e., L-733,060) against MA insult in mice. Results: GRe attenuated MA-induced decreases in dynorphin level, prodynorphin mRNA expression in the striatum of wild-type (WT) mice. Prodynorphin knockout potentiated MA-induced dopaminergic toxicity in mice. The imbalance of enzymatic antioxidant system, oxidative burdens, microgliosis, and pro-apoptotic changes led to the dopaminergic neurotoxicity. Neuroprotective effects of GRe were more pronounced in prodynorphin knockout than in WT mice. Nor-binaltorphimine, a κ-opioid receptor antagonist, counteracted against protective effects of GRe. In addition, we found that GRe significantly attenuated MA-induced increases in substance P-immunoreactivity and substance P mRNA expression in the substantia nigra. These increases were more evident in prodynorphin knockout than in WT mice. Although, we observed that substance P-immunoreactivity was co-localized in NeuN-immunreactive neurons, GFAP-immunoreactive astrocytes, and Iba-1-immunoreactive microglia. NK1 receptor antagonist L-733,060 or GRe selectively inhibited microgliosis induced by MA. Furthermore, L-733,060 did not show any additive effects against GRe-mediated protective activity (i.e., antioxidant, antimicroglial, and antiapoptotic effects), indicating that NK1 receptor is one of the molecular targets of GRe. Conclusions: Our results suggest that GRe protects MA-induced dopaminergic neurotoxicity via upregulatgion of dynorphin-mediated κ-opioid receptor and downregulation of substance P-mediated NK1 R
