1H- AND 13C-NMR SPECTRA OF SOME AZOMETHINES OF 5-AMINO-2-PHENYLINDOLE SERIES
The 1H- and 13C-spectra of some azomethines of 5-amino-2-phenylindole series have been recorded and researched. It shown that, the substituents in benzene ring influenced on the chemical shift of proton on azomethine bond
Researching migration methods, entropy and energy diagram to process ground penetrating radar data
Electromagnetic wave velocity is the most important parameter in processing ground penetrating radar data. Migration algorithm which heavily depends on wave velocity is used to concentrate scattered signals back to their correct locations. Depending wave velocity in urban area is not easy task by using traditional methods (i.e., common midpoint). We suggest using entropy and energy diagram as standard for achieving suitable velocity estimation. The results of one numerical model and areal data indicate that migrated section using accurate velocity has minimum entropy or maximum energy. From the interpretation, size and depth of anomalies are reliably identified
Liquid pumping and mixing by PZT synthetic jet
In this paper, a PZT synthetic jet that can function as both an efficient pumping and mixing device is developed. Compare with the conventional design where the practice of controlling the internal flow is undertaken by microvalves structure, this approach promotes the durability and allows the device to work with different liquids at high Reynold number without losing of backflow from the diffuser, therefore provides efficient mixing. The pumping performance is applicable for commercialized counterparts while the homogeneous medium was obtained at downstream in the experiments, which was further confirmed by simulation. Notably, the chaotic mixing feature of the device is also applicable for immiscible liquids with the micro-droplet formation result at the outlet
Application of bluetooth mesh network in multi-device system management
Currently, the application of the Internet of Things (IoT) in the industrial sector to improve the productivity and efficiency of industrial processes is no longer unfamiliar. However, for a wireless control system to operate reliably and stably even without the Internet, additional issues regarding energy and alternative control options need to be addressed. In this article, the authors have investigated the application of Bluetooth Mesh networks in industrial production systems. In a manufacturing facility, Bluetooth devices are installed on machinery and can exchange data with each other through a gateway device that serves as a data receiver for the Bluetooth devices. Additionally, the system can be remotely monitored and controlled through a Web server. Implementing this system in production enables industrial companies to digitize processes, transform business models, and enhance performance and productivity
Extract and fraction of cashew nut testa ameliorate the hyperglycemic mice induced by Streptozotocin and high-fat diet
Drug strategy is a standard method for treating type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2D), a non-communicable disease with increasing prevalence, which may cause side effects. Therefore, natural compounds with limited adverse effects have come back into vogue for treating T2D. This study aims to evaluate the effects on rehabilitating hyperglycemic mice of cashew nut testa (husk) extract and fraction known as potential bio-substances for improvement in T2D. First, the hyperglycemic mice were induced with a high-fat diet (HFD) for 4 weeks and then were injected with streptozotocin (STZ, dozen for injection was 40 mg/kg/week) for 2 weeks. Next, the confirmed hyperglycemic mice were treated with pioglitazone (HG+PG group), total extract (HG+TE group), and saponin-rich fraction (HG+SRF group) for 3 weeks. Then, the evaluation was based on body mass; blood glucose (BG) level; BG tolerance, lipid profile, pancreatic histology and the expression IRS-1 in the pancreas. The results showed that body mass and BG level significantly increased in hyperglycemic mice. After substance treatment, there was no change in body mass in TE and SRF groups. However, BG level of HG+TE group mice significantly decreased compared to hyperglycemic mice and only BG tolerance of HG+SRF group was improved. Besides, HG+TE and HG+SRF groups modulated the triglyceride, HDL and LDL close to those expressed in normal mice. In addition, histological images of the pancreas revealed the restoration in both HG+TE and HG+SRF groups. Simultaneously, the IRS-1 expression in HG+TE group pancreas was restored to its expression in normal mice. These results demonstrate that the TE and SRF of cashew nut testa could ameliorate BG, lipid profile and pancreatic IRS-1 expression and restore the damaged pancreas and islets in hyperglycemic mice
Enabling D2D Transmission Mode with Energy Harvesting and Information Transfer in Heterogeneous Networks
The concept of energy harvesting-assisted relay has been introduced to support the relaying transmission using Device-to-Device (D2D) communications for enhancing communication reliability. Motivated by the recent advance in Heterogeneous Network (HetNet) using relaying techniques, we consider the D2D communication provided by Energy Harvesting (EH) assisted relay where signal is forwarded from a Base Station (BS) to the conventional cellular user (non-D2D user) and D2D user. We first derive the outage probability by taking into account the SNR and power allocation parameters, and propose the transmission mode for D2D link as well as non-D2D link. After deriving the outage probability of the D2D-HetNet, we explore the effects of the network parameters on the outage probability and throughput
Thirty years of vaccination in Vietnam: Impact and cost-effectiveness of the national Expanded Programme on Immunization.
INTRODUCTION: Countries like Vietnam transitioning to middle-income status increasingly bear the cost of both existing and new vaccines. However, the impact and cost-effectiveness of the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) as a whole has never been assessed on a country level. METHODS: Data on vaccine-preventable disease incidence and mortality from Vietnam's national surveillance was analysed to estimate the likely impact that vaccination in 1980-2010 may have had. Adjustment for under-reporting was made by examining trends in reported mumps incidence and in case-fatality risks for each disease. The same data were separately analysed using the Lives Saved Tool (LiST) to give an alternative estimate of impact. The financial cost of EPI in 1996-2010 was also estimated from the perspective of service provider. RESULTS: National surveillance data suggests that up to 5.7 million diseases cases and 26,000 deaths may have been prevented by EPI. Analysis using LiST suggests that even more deaths (370,000) may have been prevented by measles and pertussis vaccination alone. The cost-effectiveness of EPI is estimated to be around 27,000 per death prevented. CONCLUSION: Two separate approaches to assessing EPI impact in Vietnam give different quantitative results but a common conclusion: that EPI has made a substantial impact on mortality and represents good value for money
The Epidemiology of Interpandemic and Pandemic Influenza in Vietnam, 2007–2010: The Ha Nam Household Cohort Study I
Prospective community-based studies have provided fundamental insights into the epidemiology of influenza in temperate regions, but few comparable studies have been undertaken in the tropics. The authors conducted prospective influenza surveillance and intermittent seroprevalence surveys in a household-based cohort in Vietnam between December 2007 and April 2010, resulting in 1,793 person-seasons of influenza surveillance. Age- and sex-standardized estimates of the risk of acquiring any influenza infection per season in persons 5 years of age or older were 21.1% (95% confidence interval: 17.4, 24.7) in season 1, 26.4% (95% confidence interval: 22.6, 30.2) in season 2, and 17.0% (95% confidence interval: 13.6, 20.4) in season 3. Some individuals experienced multiple episodes of infection with different influenza types/subtypes in the same season (n = 27) or reinfection with the same subtype in different seasons (n = 22). The highest risk of influenza infection was in persons 5–9 years old, in whom the risk of influenza infection per season was 41.8%. Although the highest infection risk was in school-aged children, there were important heterogeneities in the age of infection by subtype and season. These heterogeneities could influence the impact of school closure and childhood vaccination on influenza transmission in tropical areas, such as Vietnam
