    Method Meditation: An Experimental Demonstration of Systemization in Architecture

    Method Meditation is an architectural design method developed during my exploration of systemization in the design process. Systems have been used throughout architectural history in an attempt to create space that can affect an occupant exactly the way the architect intended. However, these attempts have had inconsistent outcomes. This inconsistency has been attributed to several factors, from the variety to individual experiences that skew an observer’s viewpoint, to the lack of provable, causal relationships between environment and behavior. Due to these obstacles, other designers have used systems not to create perfect results, but to push their designs to new extents, and to produce unprecedented outcomes. To explore the relationship between systemization and design, I create my own method that would further incorporate the occupant in the design process, testing whether more thorough collaboration between the architect and occupant could produce a more desirable result. To do so, I examined the design preferences of thirty participants, twenty of whom are outside of the architectural field. The participants answered questions on two separate surveys that asked for preferences based on sixty two-dimensional illustrations. These illustrations are based in part on the work of Christopher Alexander, a proponent of systemization as a means of better design. The results of these surveys showed discrepancies between the choices of the participants within, and outside, of the architectural profession. Though the scope of this method is limited, its findings suggest the possible benefits of a closer relationship between the architect and occupants during the design process

    Desa Ciaruteun Ilir merupakan desa di wilayah Kabupaten Bogor yang memiliki permasalahan berupa kurangnya air sumur pada musim kemarau. Masyarakat menanggulangi kendala ini dengan mengambil air di mata air dengan berjalan kaki melewati ladang pertanian. Kendala jarak, waktu dan tenaga yang menjadikan penduduk perlu usaha lebih banyak untuk mengambil air. Komunitas Pendidik Nusa bersama Yayasan Shaf Indonesia mengubah cara mengambil air konvensional dengan memasukkan teknologi pompa air listrik. Hasil pengabdian ini membuat masyarakat bisa menikmati air bersih langsung di rumah masing-masing. Sebanyak 15 kepala keluarga atau setara 60 jiwa merasakan efek dari kegiatan ini. Sebanyak 10 kepala keluarga kesulitan mengakses air yang sudah terinstalasi pompa listrik karena kendala pendapatan

    Orientation Echoes via Concerted Terahertz and Near-IR excitation

    A new and efficient method for orientation echo spectroscopy is presented and realized experimentally. The excitation scheme utilizes concerted rotational excitations by both ultrashort terahertz and near-IR pulses and its all-optical detection is enabled by Molecular Orientation Induced Second Harmonic method [J.Phys.Chem.A 126, 3732-3738 (2022)]. The method provides practical means for orientation echo spectroscopy of gas phase molecules and highlights the intriguing underlying physics of coherent rotational dynamics induced by judiciously-orchestrated interactions with both resonant (terahertz) and nonresonant (NIR) light pulses

    Challenges of Memorandum of Understanding as a tool for strengthening intersectoral collaboration in health system

    Background: For sustainable development and resolve complex public health problems, intersectoral collaboration is a necessity. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is one of the tools used to develop intersectoral interactions. In this study, the challenges in the development and implementation of MOUs and propose strategies to overcome these challenges were studied by collecting the views of some stakeholders from other organizations.   Methods: For identifying challenges and solutions to improve the situation, group discussions were conducted with the presence of representatives from four ministries of Agriculture, Roads and Urban Development, Sports and Youth, and Education and the representatives of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education, who were responsible for preparing MOUs. All sessions were transcript and analyzed by using content analysis method.   Results: Some challenges were defined according to the development and implementation of MOUs. For better implementation, suggested strategies were: Strengthening the stewardship of intersectoral collaboration, effective and powerful management in monitoring the implementation of MOUs, Determining the appropriate financing path, strengthening individual and organizational capabilities in developing and implementing of MOUs, improving the terms and conditions of the implementing the MOUs.   Conclusion: Collaboration with other sectors has now become one of the main issues in health systems. For better achievement, strengthening the stewardship of intersectoral collaboration to effective coordination for drafting MOU, and facilitates and monitors the effective implementation of MOUs by identifying key people in each organization and empowering them is necessary

    PENGARUH REFORMASI BIROKRASI DAN BUDAYA ORGANISASI TERHADAP KINERJA ORGANISASI PADA LEMBAGA PEMASYARAKATAN KHUSUS KELAS IIA DAN NARKOTIKA KELAS IIA GUNUNG SINDUR BOGOR

    Penelitian ini bertitik tolak dari permasalahan pokok tentang rendahnya Kinerja Organisasi di Lembaga Pemasyarakatan Khusus Kelas II-A dan Narkotika Klas II-A Gunung Sindur Bogor. Penyebab masalah tersebut diduga belum dijalankannya Reformasi Birokrasi dan Budaya Organisasi terhadap Kinerja Organisasi di Lembaga Pemasyarakatan Khusus Kelas II-A dan Narkotika Klas II- A Gunung Sindur Bogor. Pendekatan dalam penelitian ini mengacu pada konteks teori Reformasi Birokrasi dan Budaya Organisasi serta Kinerja Organisasi sebagai bagian dari lingkup Ilmu Administrasi Publik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan explanatory survey dengan Teknik Analisis Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), sedangkan populasinya Lembaga Pemasyarakatan Khusus Kelas II-A dan Narkotika Klas II-A Gunung Sindur Bogor. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan secara parsial variabel Reformasi Birokrasi (X1) yang terdiri dari: Dimensi Penataan kelembagaan, Dimensi Penataan ketatalaksanaan/manajemen, Dimensi penataan sumber daya manusia/aparatur, Dimensi Akuntabilitas/pertanggungjawaban dan Diemnsi Pelayanan umum , berpengaruh positif sebesar 0,30 dan signifikan sebesar 2,60 terhadap Kinerja Organisasi (Y). Selanjutnya secara parsial variabel Budaya Organisasi (X2) yang terdiri dari: Dimensi Integritas, Dimensi Profesionalisme, Dimensi Keteladanan dan Dimensi Penghargaan pada sumber daya manusia berpengaruh positif sebesar 0,70 dan signifikan sebesar 5,84 terhadap Kinerja Organisasi (Y). Secara simultan Reformasi Birokrasi (X1) dan Budaya Organisasi (X2) mampu menjelaskan Kinerja Organisasi (Y) pada Lembaga Pemasyarakatan Khusus Kelas II-A dan Narkotika Klas II-A Gunung Sindur Bogor sebesar 83%, sedangkan epsilonnya sebesar 17%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perlunya dilakukan penelitian lebih lanjut tentang optimalisasi peningkatan pengaruh Reformasi Birokrasi dan Budaya Organisasi terhadap Kinerja Oganisasi pada Lembaga Pemasyarakatan Khusus Kelas II-A dan Narkotika Klas II-A Gunung Sindur Bogor, dilihat dari perspektif Admnistrasi Publik. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan adanya variabel lain yang berpengaruh terhadap Kinerja Organisasi pada Lembaga Pemasyarakatan Khusus Kelas II-A dan Narkotika Klas II-A Gunung Sindur Bogor.     Perancangan Transmisi Mesin Kupas Kelapa Muda Berkarakter

    ABSTRAK Teguh Damari Bayu Wicaksono, 2019, Perancangan Transmisi Mesin Kupas Kelapa Muda Berkarakter, Teknik Mesin Diploma Tiga, Fakultas Teknologi Industri, Institut Teknologi Nasional Malang. Dosen Pembimbing Aladin Eko Purkuncoro., ST. MT. Mesin Kupas Kelapa Muda Berkarakter yaitu suatu mesin yang berguna untuk membatu penjual es kelapa muda, biasanya penjual es kelapa muda mengupas kulit kelapa muda dengan cara manual menggunakan pisau. Hal ini membuat penjual es kelapa muda sedikit lebih lama dan tidak bisa membentuk sebuah kelapa muda yang unik dan berkarakter. Metode Perencanaan Transmisi Mesin Kupas Kelapa Muda menggunakan transmisi sabuk tipe V, puli berdiameter 10cm dan 30cm, dan poros besi baja S30C-D. Diameter poros yang digunakan adalah 14 mm. Setelah bahan terkumpul dan rangka mesin sudah di rakit, kita mulai perakitan transmisi nya, mulai dari pemasangan motor, poros, puli dan pemasangan sabuk (V-belt). Setelah rangka atas jadi, kita mulai membuat dan merakit bentuk pisau berkarakter. Lalu kita tentukan jarak antara poros penggerak dengan poros yang digerakan. Motor yang digunakan untuk mesin kupas kelapa muda adalah motor 400 Watt, Daya 3,91 Hp, Torsi 14,6 Nm. Putaran poros yang digerakkan (driven) adalah 4200 rpm. Daya yang di transmisikan adalah 5,154 kg. Pada transmisi v-belt yang digunakan, panjang v-belt adalah 1829 mm. Jarak sumbu antar poros pada transmisi v-belt adalah 600 mm. Kecepatan V-belt nya adalah 7.326 m/s. Sudut kemiringan nya adalah 0,028°. Sudut kontaknya adalah 3,14 rad. Kata Kunci : Transmisi, Mesin Kupas Kelapa Muda, Bentuk Karakter Kelapa Muda
