    Dynamics of Push and Pull Factors of Migrant Workers in Developing Countries: The Case of Indonesian Workers in Malaysia

    Low income and high unemployment in labour sending countries and high income and low unemployment in labour receiving countries are frequently justified as push and pull factors of migrant workers, respectively. Indonesia is the main labour-exporting country to Malaysia but the studies on the push factors in Indonesia and the pull factors in Malaysia are very limited. This paper has three objectives. The first objective is to examine the long-run relationship among income and unemployment in Indonesia and Malaysia and the Indonesian migrant workers in Malaysia. This is followed by examining the causality between the variables in the second objective, and the extent to which income and unemployment in Indonesia and Malaysia determine the Indonesian migrant workers in Malaysia in the third objective. Time series data were employed and analysed by utilizing the Vector Autoregressive (VAR) framework. The findings show a long-run relationship among income and unemployment in Indonesia and Malaysia and the Indonesian migrant workers in Malaysia. Only unidirectional causality is found in the long-run, which is from income and unemployment in Indonesia and Malaysia to Indonesian migrant workers in Malaysia. The findings also show that the Indonesian migrant workers in Malaysia are significantly determined by income and unemployment, positively in the case of Indonesia, and negatively, in Malaysia

    This dedication aims to implement a strategy of instilling religious values through Al-Quran reading activities through the stages, namely the planning stage, the implementation stage. At the planning stage, training activities are held. After examining the role of the environment in instilling religious moral values in adolescents, it can be concluded that the Toloti Village environment in carrying out the role of instilling religious values in its youth can be said to work with the contribution of youth who realize the results of their religious learning from what has been instilled by their environment. They can realize it in their daily lives. Like a teenager who has made congregational prayers at the prayer room a mandatory daily routine and has become a good habit for him.     ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to analyze the symbols and meanings contained in Muraji Bereki's Langga Buwa dance. This research method is qualitative by examining every symbol in dance that is influenced by the social system with the various cultures that surround it. The results of the research are the symbols and meanings of the Langga Buwa dance that are displayed through movement, dancers and others that have a relationship with concepts, general ideas, patterns and shapes that give rise to symbols involving denotative and connotative meanings. The conclusion of this research is that the analysis of Langga Buwa dance performances reflects gender equality which wants to show the existence of women in fulfilling their rights so that they are equal to men. Gender differences are only in gender, while the attitudes and characteristics of each are something that can be exchanged, so that men and women should receive equal treatment both their rights and obligations in social life.    Keywords: Gender, Langga Buwa, Langga/Longgo

    The study aims at investigating the description and the influence of learning anxiety, students’ perceptions on teacher’s teaching skills, classroom climate, and learning motivation on learning outcomes of Mathematics. The study is an ex post facto with causality. The sample were 239 students of class VIII selected by employing proportional stratified random sampling. Data were collected using several instruments : (1) questionnaire of learning anxiety, (2) questionnaire of students’ perception on teacher’s teaching skills, (3) questionnaire of classroom climate, (4) questionnaire of learning motivation, and (5) test of learning outcomes. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics with SEM method. The results of the study reveal that (1) class VIII students at SMP in Tana Toraja have medium learning anxiety, students’ perception on teacher’s teaching skills is in high category, the classroom climate is in high category, learning motivation is in high category, and learning outcomes is in medium category, (2) the learning anxiety gives positive and significant influence (p = 0,379) on learning outcomes, (3) students’ perception on teacher’s teaching skills give positive and significant influence (p = 0,473) on learning outcomes, (4) classroom climate gives negative and significant influence (p=0,519) on learning outcomes, (5) learning anxiety gives positive but insignificant (p=0,9317) on learning outcomes through learning motivation, (6) students’ perception on teacher’s teaching skills give positive and significant influence (p=0,9447) on learning outcomes through learning motivation of students, (7) classroom climate gives negative and insignificant influence ((p=0,9015) on learning outcomes through learning motivation of students

    This study aims to explore the implementation of organizational culture at the Office of the Municipal Police Unit in Pohuwato Regency.  This study was conducted at the Office of the Municipal Police Unit in Pohuwato Regency. It was employed a qualitative descriptive study. The results shows that organizational culture in the Municipal Police Unit of Pohuwato regencies based on seven characteristics of organizational culture has shown differences in each characteristic. The strength of organizational culture is seen in four characteristics, namely innovation and risk-taking, attention to detail, results orientation, and individual orientation. Three characteristics, namely team orientation, aggressiveness, and stability, are still not implemented properly. It is also found that work activities are organized into teams rather than individuals, but conflicts are still found in the formed work teams. On the characteristics of aggressiveness, the culture developed has encouraged employees to act aggressively in order to achieve optimal work results, but there are still members of the organization who do not understand the goals, vision, and mission of the aforementioned office. In terms of stability characteristics, technological developments in addition to having an impact on the development of the office, also often bring instability in the office environment

    MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR MATEMATIKA MELALUI METODE KUIS INTERAKTIF PADA PESERTA DIDIK KELAS V SDN 94 BALLA

    Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (Classroom actioan research)  yang pelaksanaannya mengacu pada model Hopskin, meliputi empat tahap yaitu: (a) tahap perencanaan, (b) tahap pelaksanaan, (c) tahap tindakan dan (d) tahap refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas V SD Negeri 94 Balla tahun ajaran 2016/2017 semester ganjil, yang berjumlah 16 orang. Instrumen pada penelitian ini adalah: (1) lembar tes hasil belajar dan (2) lembar observasi aktivitas peserta didik. Hasil pada penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar matematika peserta didik kelas V SD Negeri 94 Balla setelah diajar dengan metode kuis interaktif, hal tersebut ditandai dengan: (1) Rata-rata hasil belajar matematika peserta didik pada siklus I adalah 74,81 mengalami peningkatan pada siklus II menjadi 80,00, (2) Jumlah peserta didik yang tuntas belajar mengalami peningkatan. Pada siklus I jumlah peserta didik yang tuntas belajar hanya 9 orang peserta didik atau 56,30%, meningkat menjadi 13 orang peserta didik atau 81,30% pada siklus II, dan (3) Terjadi peningkatan jumlah peserta didik yang aktif dalam proses pembelajaran yang dapat dilihat dari indikator-indikator yang ada pada lembar observas

    The Natuna Regent's Leadership Style in 2021-2024 Period: A Leadership Characterized by Archipelagic Region

    This research analyzed and described the leadership style of the Natuna Regent during the 2021-2024 period, which is characterized by the archipelagic regions. To achieve this, the Thoha theory comprising four types of leadership styles, namely directive, consultative, participative, and delegation, was employed. Furthermore, a qualitative approach with a descriptive design was employed, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The collected data were subsequently analyzed through data reduction and by drawing conclusions.The results showed that the Natuna Regent exhibits a collaborative leadership style that encompasses all four styles tailored to the specific needs of the organization. Supporting factors include the Regent's in-depth understanding of governance issues, non-authoritarian approach, welcoming attitude, strong communication skills, and encouragement of innovative ideas from all individuals. However, inhibiting factors include certain Regional Apparatus Organizations (RAO) that have not fully fulfilled their responsibilities, subordinates or RAO displaying unresponsiveness towards directives, and program implementation lacking sufficient support from the regional budget. Efforts to overcome these inhibiting factors in the leadership style of the Natuna Regent include encompassing consolidating relationships with all regional apparatus, establishing a shared mission and vision, fostering innovation among the regional apparatus and RAO heads, promoting collaboration through the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), and ensuring seamless task execution without obstacles.This research analyzed and described the leadership style of the Natuna Regent during the 2021-2024 period, which is characterized by the archipelagic regions.
