    Octupole correlations in the N = Z + 2 = 56 110Xe nucleus

    This letter reports on the first observation of an octupole band in the neutron-deficient (N=Z+2) nucleus 110Xe. The 110Xe nuclei were produced via the 54Fe(58Ni,2n) fusion-evaporation reaction. The emitted γ rays were detected using the JUROGAM 3 γ-ray spectrometer, while the fusion-evaporation residues were separated with the MARA separator at the Accelerator Laboratory of the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. The experimental observation of the low-lying 3− and 5− states and inter-band E1 transitions between the ground-state band and the octupole band proves the importance of octupole correlations in this region. These new experimental data combined with theoretical calculations using the symmetry-conserving configuration-mixing method, based on a Gogny energy density functional, have been interpreted as an evidence of enhanced octupole correlations in neutron-deficient xenon isotopesWe want to thank the Accelerator Laboratory of the University of Jyväskylä as well as the local groups for the beam preparation and support during the beam time in the middle of a global pandemic situation.     Influência da velocidade de deslocamento na semeadura do milho Influence of speed increasing in corn seeding

    Teve-se o objetivo de verificar a influência da velocidade de deslocamento na semeadura de milho, variando de 3,0 a 9,0 km h-1, em quatro condições. As variáveis analisadas foram: população de plantas emergidas, distribuição longitudinal, população com espigas e os componentes de rendimento. Concluiu-se que há aumento na percentagem de espaçamentos falhos e múltiplos e queda de espaçamentos aceitáveis ao se elevar a velocidade de semeadura. A produtividade só foi afetada quando a população de plantas com espigas foi reduzida pelo incremento de velocidade.<br>The aim of this study was to assess the influence of planter travel speed in corn seeding, between 3.0 and 9.0 km h-1, in four different locations. The variables analyzed were: population of emerged plants, longitudinal distribution, population of plants bearing ears, and yield components. It was concluded that there is an increase in the percent of skips and multiples, and a decline in acceptable spacing as the travel speed of the planter increases. Yield was only affected when the population of plants with ears was reduced by the speed increasing

    O objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar o desempenho de um conjunto trator-semeadora-adubadora de quatro linhas, variando as marchas do trator e preparo do solo. A semeadura foi realizada em Latossolo Vermelho Eutroférrico. Os tratamentos foram: preparo do solo (convencional, reduzido e plantio direto) e marchas do trator (5,9km h-1 e 7,0km h-1), em delineamento de blocos casualizados em fatorial 3 x 2 com quatro repetições. Foram analisadas: velocidade de deslocamento, capacidade de campo operacional, consumo de combustível horário e por área, patinagem, força de tração e potência na barra. A velocidade, a patinagem e os consumos de combustível horário e por área foram maiores para a marcha M2 (7,0km h-1) e o conjunto trabalhando em área cujo preparo do solo foi realizado com escarificador apresentou maiores valores para os consumos de combustível horário e por área e também menor velocidade operacional.<br>The objective of the work was to evaluate the performance of a set tractor-four lines seeder, when and operating at different tractor gears and soil tillage, on corn crop planting. The sowing was carried out through in dark-red Oxisoil, eutrophic. The treatments designs had been composites of tillage systems (conventional, reduced and no-tillage) and marches of the set tractor-seeder (5.9 and 7.0km h-1). The experimental delineation was in a randomized blocks design in factorial array of 3 x 2 with 4 replications. The analyzed variables had been: forward speed, field operational capacity, hourly and area fuel consumption, wheels lip, draft force and drawbar power. The speed, the wheels lip and fuel consumption had been higher for gear M2 (7.0km.h-1) when operating in soil prepared by reduced soil tillage also presented greater values fuel consumption and lower speed of sowing
