    A Model of Product Performance Forecasting: A Hybrid

    To reduce the risks associated with new product, forecasting becomes very important to estimate success rate of the product. A new model of product performance forecasting is developed by combining Principle Component Analysis and Artificial Neural Network (PCA-ANN). The principle component analysis is used to improve forecasting performance by redefining the correlated dependent variable into new uncorrelated variable. ANN is used to build up forecasting model based on the variable. Comparative study is performed to examine the result.Linear regression and artificial neural network are applied and compared to the proposed model.The result shows that PCA-ANN gives the best measure performance for every segment

    Perbedaan Profil Lipid Pada Peserta Senam Jantung Sehat

    Background: Sports or regular physical activities have roles in preventing coronary cardiac disease. Healthy cardiac exercise is one of an aerobic exercises which has complete composition, which are warming up, main exercise , and cooling down. Sports can give best result if it is done at least three times a week. Objective of this study was to determine blood lipid profile differences in healthy cardiac exercise which had been done three times a week and once a week. Covariate factors are sex, fat, carbohydrate, calcium, and fiber intake, other physical activities, BMI, life style, and sport obedience. Methods: This study was observational design. Samples in this study are members of healthy cardiac club in Mugas, Paraga Wonodri, and Kini Jaya, Semarang. Samples were selected with Consecutive Sampling technique and data was analyzed by t test. GLM (General Linear Multivariate ) was used to find out lipid profile difference between two groups with covariate factors. Data were Analyzed by data procesing software. Result: There is no significant difference between two groups in mean energy intake (ρ=0,74), protein (ρ=0,06), fat (ρ=0,43), calcium (ρ=0,39), fiber (ρ=0,09) and cholesterol (ρ=0,24). And there is no significant difference in total cholesterol level (ρ=0,54), HDL (ρ=0,05), LDL (ρ=0,32) and triglyceride (ρ=0,77) either after including covariate factors. Conclusion: There is no difference of blood lipid level between three times a week exercise group and once a week exercise group with considering some influenced factors

    Most of thrips from Thripidae family are pests on horticultural crops. To date, there are no records in the species richness of thrips in horticultural crops. The aim of the research is to conduct inventory on thrips spp diversity that are associated with horticultural crops in West Java. Sampling were done in several horticultural crops areas in Bogor, Cianjur, and Lembang (West Bandung). The identification process began with sample slide preparations along with the documentation of the character from each species. The identification was done mainly by using the identification program Oztrips and some other published identification keys. Identification key was built based on diagnosis characters of each species. The results found there were 15 species, that are Ceratothripoides brunneus, C. revelatus, Frankliniella intonsa, Megalurothrips typicus, M. usitatus, Scirtothrips dorsalis, Thrips aspinus, T. coloratus, T. hawaiiensis, T. javanicus, T. malloti, T. palmi, T. parvispinus, T. sumatrensis, and T. unispinus. T. aspinus and C. revelatus were new record for Indonesia

    Isolation of Streptomyces Sp. From Lapindo Mud Soil, Sidoarjo, East Java Province, Indonesia as a Larvicide Candidate Against Aedes aegypti

    Streptomyces sp. adalah suatu bakteri yang dapat hidup di banyak tempat habitat yaitu laut, bunga karang, daerah pantai, tanah, tanah pasir, tepi sungai dan lain-lain. Banyak antibiotika dan metabolit sekunder yang dihasilkan oleh bakeri ini. Beberapa meta-bolit sekunder dari bakteri ini dapat digunakan sebagai insektisida tehadap serangga termasuk larva nyamuk. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mencari dan mengisolasi sampai spesies dari Streptomyces sp. dari tanah lumpur Lapindo Sidoarjo, provinsi Jawa Timur yang dapat digunakan sebagai larvasida terhadap larva Aedes aegypti, vektor penyakit demam berdarah dengue. Metode penelitian ini adalah menumpulkan beberapa sampel tanah lumpur dari Lapindo Sidoarjo. Sampel yang sudah dikoleksi dikultur pada media ISP-4 untuk mendapatkan kultur campuran. Kemudin mengisolasi koloni yang dicurigai sebagai Streptomyces sp.dengan mengkultur beberapa kali lagi pada media ISP-4 pada petri dish. Beberapa isolat yang murni kemudian dikultur pada media ISP-4 miring (slant). Diperoleh delapan isolat murni Streptomyces sp. Karakterisasi 16S sRNA dari Streptomyces sp. dilakukan dalam rangka untuk menentukan spesies. Isolasi DNA dikerjakan dan dilanjutkan dengan sekuensing DNA, kemudian dibandingkan dengan Gene Bank dengan menggunakan program BLAST. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa sekuens basa-basa nukleotida Streptomyces Sp -D6 menunjukkan kesamaan yang tinggi dengan Streptomyces sp. 171524, disamping itu sekuens basa-basa nukleotida Streptomyces Sp-D7 dan SP-D9 mempunyai kesamaan yang tinggi dengan Streptomyces sp. ACT-05178 dan ACT-175695.Tiga spesies ini dapat di-gunakan sebagai calon larvasida terhadap Ae. aegypti.     Dynamic model of basic oxygen steelmaking process based on multi-zone reaction kinetics : model derivation and validation

    A multi-zone kinetic model coupled with a dynamic slag generation model was developed for the simulation of hot metal and slag composition during the BOF operation. The three reaction zones, (i) jet impact zone (ii) slag-bulk metal zone (iii) slag-metal-gas emulsion zone were considered for the calculation of overall refining kinetics. In the rate equations, the transient rate parameters were mathematically described as a function of process variables. A micro and macroscopic rate calculation methodology (micro-kinetics and macro-kinetics) were developed to estimate the total refining contributed by the recirculating metal droplets through the slag-metal emulsion zone. The micro-kinetics involves developing the rate equation for individual droplets in the emulsion. The mathematical models for the size distribution of initial droplets, kinetics of simultaneous refining of elements, the residence time in the emulsion, dynamic interfacial area change were established in the micro-kinetic model. In the macro-kinetics calculation, a droplet generation model was employed and the total amount of refining by emulsion was calculated by summing the refining from the entire population of returning droplets. A dynamic FetO generation model based on oxygen mass balance was developed and coupled with the multi-zone kinetic model. The effect of post combustion on the evolution of slag and metal composition was investigated. The model was applied to a 200-ton top blowing converter and the simulated value of metal and slag was found to be in good agreement with the measured data. The post-combustion ratio was found to be an important factor in controlling FetO content in the slag and the kinetics of Mn and P in a BOF process

    Daerah penelitian terletak di Kecamatan Palu Timur, Kota Palu, Propinsi Sulawesi Tengah memiliki kondisi geologi yang cukup kompleks dalam hal strudktur geologi, stratigrafi penyusun dan proses geodinamika yang pernah terjadi di kota Palu. Kehadiran Batugamping koral hanya ditemukan dominan pada daerah selatan pantai Palu Timur dengan elevasi 50-100 meter dapat menjadi bahan studi yang menarik untuk diteliti lebih lanjut
