Dissipation and elliptic flow at RHIC
We compare elliptic flow evolution from ideal hydrodynamics and covariant
parton transport theory, and show that, for conditions expected at RHIC,
dissipation significantly reduces elliptic flow even for extreme parton cross
sections and/or densities sigma_gg * dN/d\eta(b=0) ~ 45 mb * 1000. The
difference between transport and hydrodynamic elliptic flow is established
rather early during the evolution of the system, but the buildup of elliptic
flow is surprisingly insensitive to the choice of the initial (formation or
thermalization) time in both models.Comment: 4 pages, 3 EPS fig
Preserving the measure of compatibility between quantum states
In this paper after defining the abstract concept of compatibility-like
functions on quantum states, we prove that every bijective transformation on
the set of all states which preserves such a function is implemented by an
either unitary or antiunitary operator.Comment: 11 pages, submitted for publicatio
The right choice of moment for anisotropic fluid dynamics
We study anisotropic fluid dynamics derived from the Boltzmann equation based
on a particular choice for the anisotropic distribution function within a
boost-invariant expansion of the fluid in one spatial dimension. In order to
close the conservation equations we need to choose an additional moment of the
Boltzmann equation. We discuss the influence of this choice of closure on the
time evolution of fluid-dynamical variables and search for the best agreement
to the solution of the Boltzmann equation in the relaxation-time approximation.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figures, proceedings for Quark Matter 201
A kárpátaljai magyarok munkavállalói migrációja
The political and economic crisis of recent years has intensified the migrational activity from Ukraine to European countries with higher standards of living. Among the Transcarpathian Hungarians there are especially intensive migration processes for employment and other purposes, which was facilitated by owning Hungarian language skills on the one hand and possibility of obtaining Hungarian citizenship on the other. However, the number of Transcarpathian hungarians affected by migration, as well as the nature, duration and purpose of their migration, have not yet been investigated quantitatively. Our paper attempts to answer the above questions by evaluating the results of a questionnaire survey
Maps on density operators preserving quantum f-divergences
For an arbitrary strictly convex function f defined on the
non-negative real line we determine the structure of all transformations
on the set of density operators which preserve the quantum f-divergence
Differential freezeout and pion interferometry at RHIC from covariant transport theory
Puzzling discrepancies between recent pion interferometry data on Au+Au
reactions at s^1/2 = 130 and 200 AGeV from RHIC and predictions based on ideal
hydrodynamics are analyzed in terms of covariant parton transport theory. The
discrepancies of out and longitudinal radii are significantly reduced when the
finite opacity of the gluon plasma is taken into account.Comment: 4 pages, 3 EPS figures. Submitted to PR
Finite hadronization time and unitarity in quark recombination model
The effect of finite hadronization time is considered in the recombination
model, and it is shown that the hadron multiplicity turns out to be
proportional to the initial quark density and unitarity is conserved in the
model. The baryon to meson ratio increases rapidly with the initial quark
density due to competition among different channels.Comment: 4 pages in RevTeX, 3 eps figures, to appear in J. Phys.G as a lette
