On the charge density and asymptotic tail of a monopole
We propose a new definition for the abelian magnetic charge density of a non-abelian monopole, based on zero-modes of an associated Dirac operator. Unlike the standard definition of the charge density, this density is smooth in the core of the monopole. We show that this charge density induces a magnetic field whose expansion in powers of 1/r agrees with that of the conventional asymptotic magnetic field to all orders. We also show that the asymptotic field can be easily calculated from the spectral curve. Explicit examples are given for known monopole solutions. (C) 2016 AIP Publishing LLC
Inclusion of new LHC data in MMHT PDFs
I consider the effects of including a variety of new LHC data sets into the
MMHT approach for PDF determination. I consider the impact of fitting new LHC
and Tevatron data, which leads to clear improvements in some PDF uncertainties.
There are specific issues with ATLAS 7 TeV jet data and I include a discussion
of the treatment of correlated uncertainties and briefly the effects of NNLO
corrections. I also present preliminary results with the inclusion of the high

A Projected Enrollment Study of the Papillion-LaVista Public School District
The Papillion-LaVista Public School District had an enrollment of less than 400 students in 1957. Over 25,000 people now live in its twenty-four square mile area and send approximately 6,000 children to its seven elementary schools, two junior high schools, and one senior high school
Updates of PDFs for the 2nd LHC run
I present results on continuing updates in PDFs within the framework now
called MMHT14 due to both theory improvements and the inclusion of new data
sets, including most of the up-to-date LHC data. A new set of PDFs is

Updates of PDFs in the MSTW framework
I present results on updates on PDFs which are obtained within the general
framework which led to the MSTW2008 PDF sets. There are some theory and
procedural improvements and a variety of new data sets, including many relevant
up-to-date LHC data. A new set of PDFs is very close to being finalised, with

Attractive Spin-Orbit Potential from the Skyrme Model
We derive the nucleon-nucleon isoscalar spin-orbit potential from the Skyrme model and find good agreement with the Paris potential. This solves a problem that has been open for more than 30 years and gives a new geometric understanding of the spin-orbit force. Our calculation is based on the dipole approximation to skyrmion dynamics and higher order perturbation theory
Instantons and Chern-Simons flows in 6, 7 and 8 dimensions
The existence of K-instantons on a cylinder M^7 = R_tau x K/H over a
homogeneous nearly K"ahler 6-manifold K/H requires a conformally parallel or a
cocalibrated G_2-structure on M^7. The generalized anti-self-duality on M^7
implies a Chern-Simons flow on K/H which runs between instantons on the coset.
For K-equivariant connections, the torsionful Yang-Mills equation reduces to a
particular quartic dynamics for a Newtonian particle on C. When the torsion
corresponds to one of the G_2-structures, this dynamics follows from a gradient
or hamiltonian flow equation, respectively. We present the analytic (kink-type)
solutions and plot numerical non-BPS solutions for general torsion values
