A Classification of random Dirac fermions
We present a detailed classification of random Dirac hamiltonians in two
spatial dimensions based on the implementation of discrete symmetries. Our
classification is slightly finer than that of random matrices, and contains
thirteen classes. We also extend this classification to non-hermitian
hamiltonians with and without Dirac structure.Comment: 15 pages, version2: typos in the table of classes are correcte
Chiral extrapolation of nucleon magnetic form factors
The extrapolation of nucleon magnetic form factors calculated within lattice
QCD is investigated within a framework based upon heavy baryon chiral
effective-field theory. All one-loop graphs are considered at arbitrary
momentum transfer and all octet and decuplet baryons are included in the
intermediate states. Finite range regularisation is applied to improve the
convergence in the quark-mass expansion. At each value of the momentum transfer
(), a separate extrapolation to the physical pion mass is carried out as a
function of alone. Because of the large values of involved, the
role of the pion form factor in the standard pion-loop integrals is also
investigated. The resulting values of the form factors at the physical pion
mass are compared with experimental data as a function of and demonstrate
the utility and accuracy of the chiral extrapolation methods presented herein.Comment: 19 pages, 10 figure
A method for estimating the rate of shedding of tags from yellowfin tuna
ENGLISH: The present paper describes a new method for estimating the shedding rate of tags. The method utilizes not only data on tagging and recovery of fish marked with two tags but also data from those marked with one. One important advantage of the new technique is that the estimates of the shedding rates are free from distortion caused by variations in fishing intensity during the total recovery period. The idea of this method appears to be implicit in a short note by Gulland (1963). This technique has been applied to the data obtained by the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission in a tagging cruise off the west coast of southern Baja California, during June 1963, at which time both single and double-tagged yellowfin tuna were released. Details of the tagging procedure and equipment have been described by Fink (1965b). The results presented in the present paper are for yellowfin tuna tagged with dart tags. Estimates of shedding should be made separately for each species investigated and also for each type of tag used, since these rates may be variable and often unexpectedly high (Springer and McErlean 1961, Chadwick 1963).

The Fubini-Furlan-Rossetti Sum Rule Revisited
The Fubini-Furlan-Rossetti sum rule for pion photoproduction on the nucleon
is evaluated by dispersion relations at constant t, and the corrections to the
sum rule due to the finite pion mass are calculated. Near threshold these
corrections turn out to be large due to pion-loop effects, whereas the sum rule
value is closely approached if the dispersion integrals are evaluated for
sub-threshold kinematics. This extension to the unphysical region provides a
unique framework to determine the low-energy constants of chiral perturbation
theory by global properties of the excitation spectrum.Comment: 12 pages, 7 postscript figures, EPJ style files include
A review of the population structure of yellowfin tuna, Thunnus albacares, in the Eastern Pacific Ocean
ENGLISH: Since its inception in 1950 by agreement between the Republic of Costa Rica and the United States of America, the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission has been engaged in studies of the biology, ecology and population dynamics of yellowfin tuna in the eastern Pacific Ocean. Prime consideration has been given to the evaluation of the effects of fishing pressure on the yellowfin tuna in this area in order to estimate the maximum sustainable yield. A portion of the eastern Pacific has been defined by the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission (1963) as a regulatory area for yellowfin tuna (Figure 1).

Invariant Amplitudes for Pion Electroproduction
The invariant amplitudes for pion electroproduction on the nucleon are
evaluated by dispersion relations at constant t with MAID as input for the
imaginary parts of these amplitudes. In the threshold region these amplitudes
are confronted with the predictions of several low-energy theorems derived in
the soft-pion limit. In general agreement with Chiral Perturbation Theory, the
dispersive approach yields large corrections to these theorems because of the
finite pion mass.Comment: 18 pages, 8 figure
PAH Strength and the Interstellar Radiation Field around the Massive Young Cluster NGC3603
We present spatial distribution of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and
ionized gas within the Galactic giant HII region NGC3603. Using the IRS
instrument on board the Spitzer Space Telescope, we study in particular the PAH
emission features at ~5.7, 6.2, 7.7, 8.6, and 11.3um, and the [ArII] 6.99um,
[NeII] 12.81um, [ArIII] 8.99um, and [SIV] 10.51um forbidden emission lines. The
observations probe both ionized regions and photodissociation regions. Silicate
emission is detected close to the central cluster while silicate absorption is
seen further away. We find no significant variation of the PAH ionization
fraction across the whole region. The emission of very small grains lies closer
to the central stellar cluster than emission of PAHs. The PAH/VSG ratio
anticorrelates with the hardness of the interstellar radiation field suggesting
a destruction mechanism of the molecules within the ionized gas, as shown for
low-metallicity galaxies by Madden et al. (2006).Comment: Accepted for publication in ApJ. Corrected typo
