Propagation of hydrodynamic interactions between particles in a compressible fluid

Hydrodynamic interactions are transmitted by viscous diffusion and sound propagation: the temporal evolution of hydrodynamic interactions by both mechanisms is studied by direct numerical simulation in this paper. The hydrodynamic interactions for a system of two particles in a fluid are estimated by the velocity correlation of the particles. In an incompressible fluid, hydrodynamic interactions propagate instantaneously at the infinite speed of sound, followed by the temporal evolution of viscous diffusion. On the other hand, in a compressible fluid, sound propagates at a finite speed, which affects the temporal evolution of the hydrodynamic interactions by the order of magnitude relation between the time scales of viscous diffusion and sound propagation. The hydrodynamic interactions are characterized by introducing the ratio of these time scales as an interactive compressibility factor.Comment: 12 pages, 8 figure

Direct numerical simulation of dispersed particles in a compressible fluid

We present a direct numerical simulation method for investigating the dynamics of dispersed particles in a compressible solvent fluid. The validity of the simulation is examined by calculating the velocity relaxation of an impulsively forced spherical particle with a known analytical solution. The simulation also gives information about the fluid motion, which provides some insight into the particle motion. Fluctuations are also introduced by random stress, and the validity of this case is examined by comparing the calculation results with the fluctuation-dissipation theorem.Comment: 7 pages, 5 figure

Automated Text Scoring (ATS) provides a cost-effective and consistent alternative to human marking. However, in order to achieve good performance, the predictive features of the system need to be manually engineered by human experts. We introduce a model that forms word representations by learning the extent to which specific words contribute to the text’s score. Using Long-Short Term Memory networks to represent the meaning of texts, we demonstrate that a fully automated framework is able to achieve excellent results over similar approaches. In an attempt to make our results more interpretable, and inspired by recent advances in visualizing neural networks, we introduce a novel method for identifying the regions of the text that the model has found more discriminative. This is the accepted manuscript. Grasping the Finer Point: A Supervised Similarity Network for Metaphor Detection

The ubiquity of metaphor in our everyday communication makes it an important problem for natural language understanding. Yet, the majority of metaphor processing systems to date rely on hand engineered features and there is still no consensus in the field as to which features are optimal for this task. In this paper, we present the first deep learning architecture designed to capture metaphorical composition. Our results demonstrate that it outperforms the existing approaches in the metaphor identification task

“Zombie Run” is an endless running game that must played by two players on one computer or notebook and must be played using Arduino Pro Micro and GY-521 as controller. This game developed using Unity 3D game engine and controller developed using Arduino SDK. Player have to avoid as many obstacles to create highest score. Player can get uniquely exciting experience by tilting controller and pressing button in the controller to make character move. Testing has been done using blackbox method, alpha testing, and beta testing. The result show that this game have interesting concept by two players and gyroscope controlle

Contemporary marginal literature and poetry in Brazil : the periphery in the voice of Sérgio Vaz and Ferréz

In Brazil, the urban segregation is one of the most important aspects of social inequality. This segregation, along with a political-social feeling coupled with the marginal positioning of some social groups, culminated in the emergence of an independent cultural production network whose novelty consists in the representation and dissemination of local identity. Marginal Literature is one of these manifestations, in this type of literature, the authors of the works are marginalized by a society that does not give them ears or voice. They found in writing a way to show their revolt and the search for social and ethnic recognition. The purpose of this article is to present a little of this literary production of the last 20 years in Brazil, its peculiarities, forms and themes.
