Current Renormalisation Constants with an O(a)-improved Fermion Action
Using chiral Ward identities, we determine the renormalisation constants of
bilinear quark operators for the Sheikholeslami-Wohlert action lattice at
beta=6.2. The results are obtained with a high degree of accuracy. For the
vector current renormalisation constant we obtain Z_V=0.817(2)(8), where the
first error is statistical and the second is due to mass dependence of Z_V.
This is close to the perturbative value of 0.83. For the axial current
renormalisation constant we obtain Z_A = 1.045(+10 -14), significantly higher
than the value obtained in perturbation theory. This is shown to reduce the
difference between lattice estimates and the experimental values for the
pseudoscalar meson decay constants, but a significant discrepancy remains. The
ratio of pseudoscalar to scalar renormalisation constants, Z_P/Z_S, is less

The Influence of Minority Stress, Gender, and Legalization of Civil Unions on Parenting Desire and Intention in Lesbian Women and Gay Men: Implications for Social Policy and Clinical Practice
Although the rate of lesbian and gay (LG) parents is increasing, lesbian and gay adults are less likely than heterosexual adults to be parents, as desire and intention to become a parent tend to be lower. This study aims at assessing 290 childless LG individuals (120 lesbian women and 170 gay men) to explore the influence of minority stress, gender differences, and legalization of civil unions in Italy on parenting desire and intention. The results indicated that the minority stressors associated with parenting dimensions included prejudice events, outness, and internalized homophobia
for lesbian women, but only felt stigma among gay men. Support from family or significant others buffered the effects of minority stressors on parenting dimensions. Thus, the minority stress processes partly explain the intention and desire to become parents in LG childless individuals. Furthermore, lesbian women showed higher levels of parenting desire and intention than gay men and the levels of these parenting dimensions increased after the law on civil unions was enacted. The findings have important implications for both social policies and clinical practice
Finite-Temperature Phase Structure of Lattice QCD with Wilson Quark Action
The long-standing issue of the nature of the critical line of lattice QCD
with the Wilson quark action at finite-temperatures, defined to be the line of
vanishing pion screening mass, and its relation to the line of
finite-temperature chiral tansition is examined. Analytical and numerical
evidence are presented that the critical line forms a cusp at a finite gauge
coupling, and the line of chiral transition runs past the tip of the cusp
without touching the critical line. Implications on the continuum limit and the

Minority Stress, Resilience, and Mental Health: A Study of Italian Transgender People
Transgender people often experience oppression because of gender nonconformity. They represent an extremely stigmatized population at high risk of developing mental health problems. The minority stress model is a theoretical model used to understand social stigma as a potential cause of mental health disparities faced by the transgender population. In Italy, studies applying this model to the transgender population are limited. The current study applied the minority stress model to a sample of Italian transgender people (n = 149), analyzing effects of prejudice events, expectations of rejection, and internalized transphobia, and their interaction with protective factors (resilience and social support), on mental health. The results suggest that exposure to everyday discrimination and internalized transphobia are associated with increased mental health problems, while perceived social support from family and resilience significantly reduced the strength of association between everyday discrimination and mental health. Findings have important implications for both social issues and policies
QCD thermodynamics with two flavors of Wilson quarks at N_t=6
We report on a study of hadron thermodynamics with two flavors of Wilson
quarks on 12^3x6 lattices. We have studied the crossover between the high and
low temperature regimes for three values of the hopping parameter, kappa=0.16,
0.17, and 0.18. At each of these values of kappa we have carried out spectrum
calculations on 12^3x24 lattices for two values of the gauge coupling in the
vicinity of the crossover in order to set an energy scale for our
thermodynamics calculations and to determine the critical value of the gauge
coupling for which the pion and quark masses vanish. For kappa=0.17 and 0.18 we
find coexistence between the high and low temperature regimes over 1,000
simulation time units indicating either that the equilibration time is
extremely long or that there is a possibility of a first order phase
transition. The pion mass is large at the crossover values of the gauge
coupling, but the crossover curve has moved closer to the critical curve along
which the pion and quark masses vanish, than it was on lattices with four time
slices. In addition, values of the dimensionless quantity T_c/m_rho are in
closer agreement with those for staggered quarks than was the case at N_t=4. (A

The continuum limit of the static-light meson spectrum
We investigate the continuum limit of the low lying static-light meson
spectrum using Wilson twisted mass lattice QCD with N_f = 2 dynamical quark
flavours. We consider three values of the lattice spacing a ~ 0.051 fm, 0.064
fm, 0.080 fm and various values of the pion mass in the range 280 MeV < m_PS <
640 MeV. We present results in the continuum limit for light cloud angular
momentum j = 1/2, 3/2, 5/2 and for parity P = +, -. We extrapolate our results
to physical quark masses, make predictions regarding the spectrum of B and B_s

Nonperturbative Renormalisation of Composite Operators in Lattice QCD
We investigate the nonperturbative renormalisation of composite operators in
lattice QCD restricting ourselves to operators that are bilinear in the quark
fields. These include operators which are relevant to the calculation of
moments of hadronic structure functions. The computations are based on Monte

Internalized Transphobia, Resilience, and Mental Health: Applying the Psychological Mediation Framework to Italian Transgender Individuals
Transgender and gender nonconforming (TGNC) people are a highly-stigmatized population. For this reason, they might internalize society’s normative gender attitudes and develop negative mental health outcomes. As an extension of the minority stress model, the psychological mediation framework sheds light on psychological processes through which anti-transgender discrimination might affect mental health. Within this framework, the current study aimed at assessing in 149 TGNC Italian individuals the role of internalized transphobia as a mediator between anti-transgender discrimination and mental health, considering resilience as the individual-level coping mechanism buffering this relationship. The results suggest that both indicators of internalized transphobia (i.e., shame and alienation) mediate the relationship between anti-transgender discrimination and depression, while only alienation mediates the relationship between anti-transgender discrimination and anxiety. Furthermore, the results suggest that the indirect relation between anti-transgender discrimination and anxiety through alienation is conditional on low and moderate levels of resilience. Findings have important implications for clinical practice and psycho-social interventions to reduce stigma and stress caused by interpersonal and individual stigma
Light Quark Masses from Lattice Quark Propagators at Large Momenta
We compute non-perturbatively the average up-down and strange quark masses
from the large momentum (short-distance) behaviour of the quark propagator in
the Landau gauge. This method, which has never been applied so far, does not
require the explicit calculation of the quark mass renormalization constant.
Calculations were performed in the quenched approximation, by using
O(a)-improved Wilson fermions. The main results of this study are
ml^RI(2GeV)=5.8(6)MeV and ms^RI(2GeV)=136(11)MeV. Using the relations between
different schemes, obtained from the available four-loop anomalous dimensions,
we also find ml^RGI=7.6(8)MeV and ms^RGI=177(14)MeV, and the MSbar-masses,
ml^MS(2GeV)=4.8(5)MeV and ms^MS(2GeV)=111(9)MeV.Comment: 19 pages, 2 references added, version to appear in Phys. Rev.
Order a improved renormalization constants
We present non-perturbative results for the constants needed for on-shell
improvement of bilinear operators composed of Wilson fermions. We work
at and 6.2 in the quenched approximation. The calculation is done
by imposing axial and vector Ward identities on correlators similar to those
used in standard hadron mass calculations. A crucial feature of the calculation
is the use of non-degenerate quarks. We also obtain results for the constants
needed for off-shell improvement of bilinears, and for the scale and
scheme independent renormalization constants, (Z_A), (Z_V) and (Z_S/Z_P).
Several of the constants are determined using a variety of different Ward
identities, and we compare their relative efficacies. In this way, we find a
method for calculating that gives smaller errors than that used
previously. Wherever possible, we compare our results with those of the ALPHA
collaboration (who use the Schr\"odinger functional) and with 1-loop
