Design of an analog/digital truly random number generator

    Get PDF
An analog-digital system is presented for the generation of truly random (aperiodic) digital sequences. This model is based on a very simple piecewise-linear discrete map which is suitable for implementation using monolithic analog sampled-data techniques. Simulation results are given illustrating the optimum choice of the model parameters. Circuit implementations are reported for the discrete map using both switched-capacitor (SC) and switched-current (SI) techniques. The layout of a SI prototype in a 3-μm n-well double-polysilicon double-metal technology is included

Distribution of Nutrients in Edible Banana Pulp

    Get PDF
Chemical composition in different parts of banana pulp was determined. Ash and protein mean concentrations in the central part of the pulp were higher than in the medium part, and these were higher than those in the external part. The mean concentrations of the fiber (total and non-soluble) in the central part were higher than those found in the other parts. Ascorbic acid behaved inversely; the mean concentration significantly decreased from the external part to the central part. The central part contained the highest mean concentrations of the analysed minerals (Na, K, Ca, Mg, Fe, Cu, Zn and Mn), with statistically significant differences for Cu, Zn and Ca. A tendency to differentiate the pulp samples of banana as a function of the part considered was observed after using factor analysis. The samples from the central part were different from those from the external part. The samples of the medium part overlapped with those of the other two parts

La cooperación científica interinstitucional en el terreno de la documentación americanista dentro de la red europea REDIAL : algunas realizaciones prácticas

    Get PDF
The European network REDIAL have been working in interinstitutional cooperative projects from 1989. Some examples of cooperative works are described, in which some Spanish libraries and documentation centers have participated: diffusion of journals summaries, comparative lexicon on denominations of ethnic groups and elaboration of a directory of spanish congresses about Latin American Studies. On the basis of these experiences this paper proposes the necessity of a pragmatic approach to carry out this type of cooperations

Application of piecewise-linear switched-capacitor circuits for random number generation

    Get PDF
An unconventional application of switched-capacitor (SC) circuits is discussed. A systematic method for the design of piecewise-linear (PL) parasitic-insensitive SC chaotic discrete maps is given. A simple circuit which generates a random one-bit digital sequence is reported. Simulation results show that the random behavior is not significantly altered by large (about 5%) variations in the values of the design parameters, which makes monolithic implementation feasible. Simulation results and layout for a 2- mu m double-metal CMOS prototype are included

In this paper we wanted to collaborate through a joint innovation project. The purpose of this research are: (a) To hear directly and in depth the possibilities of practicum programs in institutional reality, business and labor in their social environment. (b) critically analyze the new learning environments (dynamic environments Web 2.0) and informal learning.(c) develop the ability to be independent in carrying out tasks where we need to apply theory and practice. The sample is composed of 3 196 students and 5 of Pedagogy. The quantitative and qualitative methodology (questionnaires, discussion groups, forums, blogs and interviews)

Ehlers–Danlos Syndrome Type Arthrochalasia: A Systematic Review

    Get PDF
Ehlers–Danlos syndrome type arthrochalasia (aEDS) is a rare genetic disease characterized by severe generalized joint hypermobility, bilateral congenital hip dislocation, skin hyperextensibility, muscle hypotonia, and mild dysmorphic features. It is an autosomal dominant connective tissue disease causing defects in collagen, associated with two genes, COL1A1 or COL1A2. Only about 42 cases have been published worldwide. Treatment is currently symptomatic and focuses on increasing the quality of life of these patients, as there is no curative treatment. The main objective of the review was to update information on Ehlers–Danlos syndrome type arthrochalasia from scientific publications. The review report was carried out in accordance with the criteria of the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and MetaAnalyses (PRISMA) review protocol, by searching Orphanet, OMIM, PubMed, and Scopus, as well as free sources. A total of 20 articles were analyzed, which, after analysis, provide an updated report that aims to establish a solid starting point for future lines of research
