Motivation: Credit for technological innovations is implemented under competition projects in Submeasure 3.2.2 of Innovation support for enterprises of Smart Growth Operational Programme 2014–2020. It is a follow-up to the measure implemented under the Innovative Economy programme. The support granted in the form of so-called ‘technology bonus’ allows to partially repay a credit for technological innovations granted by a commercial bank. It is an instrument of financial support aimed at increasing the innovativeness and competitiveness of micro-, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSME). The innovativeness of Polish MSME is at a very low level, compared to other EU countries., Therefore, it seems necessary to implement various instruments of support and stimulation of investment in innovative technologies.Aim: assessment of credit procedures and possibilities of financial support MSME activity from a credit for technological innovations. To do this, an analysis is needed of the procedure and funding rules for technological investments with POIR resources. Besides, the literature of the subjects as well as the most important findings and statistics have been reviewed and evaluated. Results: presentation of the specificity of the credit in the case of technological innovations, including the obtainment of a technology bonus, assessment of the innovative activity of MSME, as well as the state of financing innovations and technological investments of MSME, including indication of limitations in this respect

What has been not written by KraszewskiThe text is a review of Matthew Skucha’s book that attempts to apply the methodology of gender criticism and feminist literary criticism in reading the late novels by Ignacy Kraszewski. The author of the review appreciates competence and efficiency of the interpretation by Skucha, who managed to reveal unconscious, non-literary determinants of Kraszewski’s prose resulting from entanglement in the patriarchal system of cultural behaviours associated with women and men in the 19th century. But she also draws attention to the dangers connected with reductional dimension of such interpellation

Atrial fibrillation (AF) is an independent factor increasing the risk of an ischemic stroke (IS) fivefold. The objective of the study was to evaluate the frequency of coexistence of non-valvular AF and IS during the acute stroke and to analyze the attitude of AF patients to treatment. The study included 3712 successive patients presenting either an IS or a transient ischemic attack. The analysis revealed a significant increase in the rate of patients with AF and IS in the years 2010–2013 (31.9%) compared with 2002–2005 (20.2%). A rise in the proportion of AF and IS patients was recorded over the course of consecutive years in group II. The proportion of newly detected AF cases during hospital stay differed significantly between the groups (16.9% vs. 31.9%). Group I and II patients differed essentially with regards to hypertension incidence and female rates. Antiplatelet medications or OACs were taken by a significantly greater number of AF patients in group II. Low number of therapeutic levels of INR was recorded in both groups. IS and AF coexist more frequently than indicated by previous assessments and demographic data from other countries. Increase in the number of IS and AF patients may result from higher detectability of AF and older age of patients affected with stroke, women in particular. Despite a well grounded knowledge about the benefits of OACs use in the prophylaxis of thrombotic-embolic events in AF patients, they are rarely used. A surprisingly low proportion of patients taking OACs reaches a therapeutic INR level

Objectives: The phenomenon of tocophobia (pathological fear of labor) has not been fully explored. Currently, there are no diagnostic criteria that would enable its detection or make it recognizable as a disease entity. The aim of study was to determine the degree of anxiety/tocophobia as well as to learn about and analyze the causes of this phenomenon in Polish pregnant women. Material and methods: The prospective study included 120 pregnant women in the third trimester of gestation from February to May 2016. The study was performed with the use of a standardized and revised version of the Labor Anxiety Questionnaire (KLP II) designed by Putyński and Paciorek (1997) as well as a proprietary interview questionnaire and structured data documentation form. Results: In 6.7% of the subjects, the level of labor anxiety was very high (> 18 in KLP II). It was the highest in women over 30 years of age (Pearson’s chi squared test = 0.00422; p < 0.05). It has been shown that successive childbirths have an impact on the degree of anxiety (p = 0.04217).The highest level of anxiety was noted in primiparous women. In 85% of the subjects, anxiety was caused by fear of labor pain. 56.7% of the tested women did not use any professional help in the preparation for childbirth and motherhood. Conclusions: Primiparas and women over 30 years of age experience very high levels of fear significantly more frequently. The lack of proper preparation for childbirth determines the occurrence of tocophobia. Ante-natal classes and prenatal education based on standards of obstetric care should be promoted in order to reduce or eliminate fear of natural labor
