Creative Industry a Pattern for Growth in Bucharest Ilfov Region

    Get PDF
Creative industries comprise the creation, production, marketing and distribution of products and services resulting from human creativity. The European cultural and creative industries (CCI) represent a significant set of industries. Social, cultural and technological changes have helped fuel our thirst and demand for cultural products, new forms of entertainment, distraction, and inspiration creative and cultural industries manufacturing and production activities are the most regionally concentrated, and consumer oriented activities such as retail the least regionally concentrated. In this paper, we consider that the creative and cultural cannot be seen simply as cyclically dependent service functions to the rest of the economy. In Bucharest Ilfov region the cultural and creative industries is a model of economic development

Infrastructure Investments: Need for a Higher Territorial Cohesion in Bucharest-Ilfov Region

    Get PDF
This paper is going to present the current situation and some predictions regarding the development of Bucharest Ilfov region infrastructure, the most developed Romanian regions from economical point of view. The cohesion policy investments must be closely aligned to the objectives of Europe 2020 (there should be a balanced approach to investment, a right balance between different types of investments). For this reason, the development opportunities through infrastructure investments using the EU funds is one of the main priority in order to increase Bucharest-Ilfov attractiveness, accessibility and mobility across the region. The paper will present the regional development trends and the present regional policy implementation practice and first results regarding the infrastructure investments financed through EU funds in order to increase the capital city functions as an engine for development

The influence of Christian Orthodox thought on Stanislavski’s theatrical legacy

This is an accepted manuscript of an article published by Routledge, Taylor & Francis in Stanislavski Studies on 01/08/2019, available online: https://doi.org/10.1080/20567790.2019.1644747 The accepted version of the publication may differ from the final published version.Expressed through many Orthodox concepts, such as ‘soul’, ‘heart’, ‘love’, ‘beauty’ and ‘truth’, scattered throughout all his writings, Stanislavski’s personal religious feelings seemed constantly to have shaped his life-long sense of an artistic spirituality. Yet, in spite of this presence, the Orthodox connections appear to be neither properly analysed nor fully explained. Therefore, this paper strives to identify and reflect upon how such generally ignored but key Orthodox ideas might have had a crucial influence on shaping Stanislavski’s ‘system’.Published onlin

Stanislavski’s creative state on the stage. A spiritual approach to the “system” through practice as research

    Get PDF
This article is a continuation of a previously published one and talks about my own research project, with a focus on various meditation techniques, used as un underlying principle of breath to observe possible spiritual ways of preparing the actor towards what Stanislavski defines as the creative state or as experiencing ‘the life of the human soul’ on the stage. Following the odyssey of the artist from being oneself to becoming the character, my practice as research looks upon how certain spiritual ways (such as meditation) might contribute to their artistic development. It also draws attention on the strange similarities between Christian Orthodox ideas, the Zen Buddhist state of ‘enlightenment’/ ‘zanmai’, and the Stanislavskian creative state

Tourism and Cultural Heritage: Sector Priorities of Regional Development Policy within Bucharest-Ilfov Region

    Get PDF
The sustainable development gets a great importance in the context of Romania integration in the EU and globalization, a context in which the intersection of the economic, social environmental but also cultural and recreational sector is more and more complex. Having in mind this complex context, in this paper, we present a personal point of view regarding the potential for growth in tourism of Bucharest-Ilfov region, due to vast range of tourist offer (cultural, business, recreational). The Bucharest-Ilfov region has a great tourism potential: the attraction capacity of the Bucharest urban centre is enriched by the environmental and cultural value of the areas and sites surrounding the capital city. This combination of urban, business, cultural and environmental resources is a powerful basis for developing the tourism sector in the region. The tourism sector must be a priority of the regional development policy, because of the importance of the tourism contribution to growth and job creation so the infrastructure improvement is therefore a necessity for tourism development. In line with the above, the main goal of this paper is to demonstrate the necessity of increasing the economic importance of the tourism sector within the regional economy

Stanislavsky’s Creative State on the Stage. A spiritual approach to the ‘system’ through practice as research

    Get PDF
This practice as research aims to rediscover and test a spiritual way of preparing the actor towards experiencing that ineffable artistic creativity defined by Konstantin Stanislavsky as the creative state, or as experiencing “the living human spirit, the life of the human soul” on the stage (2010: xxiv). Filtered through the lens of his unaddressed Christian Orthodox background, as well as his yogic or Hindu interest, the practical work allocated for this thesis was conducted during nearly five years of weekly sessions, and followed the odyssey of the artist, from being oneself towards becoming the character. The practice was structured in three major horizontal stages and was developed on another three vertical, interconnected levels. By using various meditation techniques, as un underlying principle of breath, and by observing a certain spiritual way of behaving, the practice began with the creation and constant maintenance of a virtually sacralised atmosphere. Later on, during training, when rehearsing, or while performing, the work evolved into testing all the elements of the ‘system’, with a particular focus given to seven of them that might hold both technical and spiritual values or usability. The procedures through which these elements can be addressed in practice were translated into acting exercises and études designed to elucidate such Stanislavskian principles as ‘morality’, ‘nature’, ‘experiencing’, ‘incarnation’, or the ‘superconscious’. The methodologies used had the purpose of teaching the actor how to give herself the chance of experiencing the creative state, with no guarantees offered—for, truth be told, no one has the power of controlling the hypothetical soul of the artist with its ineffable inner mysterious sources of inspiration or with its subtler higher ways of creativity

Modeling of mannich bases fungicidal activity by the MLR approach

    Get PDF
In the present paper, we have carried out quantitative structure-fungicidal activity relationships analysis on a novel series of Mannich bases with trifluoromethyl-1,2,4-triazole and substituted benzylpiperazine moieties reported to have improved fungicidal activity against Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. cucumerinum. The chemical structures were energy minimized based on semiempirical quantum chemical method RM1. The molecular descriptors were calculated using the DRAGON, InstantJchem and ChemProp software. Several models for the prediction of fungicidal activity have been drawn up by using the multiple regression technique (MLR). The genetic algorithm approach was employed for variable selection method to search for the best ranking models. The predictive ability of the MLR models was validated using an external test set of 5 out of 18 molecules. The best MLR model was chosen by observing acceptable r2 2 adj r and 2 LOO q values, low residual errors and high Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) scores. The MLR equation suggests the positive impact of GETAWAY and edge adjacency matrix descriptors on the fungicidal activity. The high acidic character of the molecule increase the fungicidal activity

DFT study of long bonds in radical cations of sugar derivatives

    Get PDF
We have performed DFT computations on radical cations of several monosaccharide derivatives, using the STO-3G and 3-21G basis sets. The obtained long bond lengths were compared with the values we have previously obtained using the RM1 and PM7 semi-empirical methods. The applied DFT methods offered smaller values for the long bond lengths, attaining only 1.6÷1.7 Å. Also, in contrast with the simple STO-3G basis set, which shows some exceptions, the more advanced 3-21G basis set always places the long bond in the correct C4-C5 position, as suggested by the EI-MS analyses
