A Bibliometric Analysis of Privacy Concepts based on Westin Information Privacy Eras

Fundamental theories are considered the core of a discipline (van Dijk et al. 2021), and that they have been isolated in the case of privacy, to define their disciplinary identity. We propose to carry this approach a step further, not only by updating it, but also by identifying the historical developments that led to the changes in core disciplines on papers about privacy. This research paper proposes to update Westin\u27s timeline of the Evolution of Information Privacy Concept Following the Evolution of IT (Westin 2003) by adding a fifth era from 2002 to the present. To demonstrate this, we carried out a bibliometric analysis of the disciplines and concepts mobilized by privacy research since 1945. We find a clear segmentation of privacy research concepts in relation to the evolution of IT (Smith et al. 2011), corresponding to the different eras described by Westin. Since 2002, the clear emergence of new disciplines in privacy research, particularly in IT, confirms that we have entered a new era. Finally, we note that the three levels of analysis in Westin\u27s Information privacy (political, socio-cultural and personal) must be related to the evolution of technology and Computer Science in particular

A Framework for Multifunctional Green Infrastructure Investment in Camden, NJ

    Get PDF
This study demonstrates a decision-support framework for planning Green Infrastructure (GI) systems that maximize urban ecosystem services in Camden, NJ. Seven key ecosystem services are evaluated (urban agriculture expansion, combined sewer overflow reduction, heat island reduction, flooding reduction, capacity building/green jobs expansion, fitness expansion, and stress reduction), to produce a normalized value for each service for each drainage sub-basin within the city. Gaps in ecosystem services are then mapped and utilized to geographically prioritize different kinds of multifunctional GI. Conceptual designs are developed for four site typologies: parks, schools, vacant lots, and brownfield sites. For one demonstration site, additional analysis is presented on urban engagement, life cycle cost reduction, and new sources of funding. What results is an integrated, long-term vision where multifunctional GI systems can be readily customized to meet multiple needs within urban communities. This study provides a portable and replicable framework for leveraging the regulatory requirement to manage stormwater to meet broader urban revitalization goals, all through a decentralized network of green infrastructure assets

Describing advanced practice provider roles within critical care teams with Tele-ICUs: Exemplars from seven US health systems

    No full text
Telehealth is an acknowledged strategy to meet patient healthcare needs. In critical care settings, Tele-ICU\u27s are expanding to deliver clinical services across a diverse spectrum of critically ill patients. The expansion of telehealth provides increased opportunities for advanced practice providers including advanced practice nurses and physician assistants; however, limited information on roles and models of care for advanced practice providers in telehealth exist. This article reviews current and evolving roles for advanced practice providers in telehealth in acute and critical care settings across 7 healthcare systems in the United States. The health system exemplars described in this article identify the important role of advanced practice providers in providing patient care oversight and in improving outcomes for acute and critically ill patients. As telehealth continues to expand, additional opportunities will lead to novel roles for advanced practice providers in the field of telehealth to assist with patient care management for subacute, acute, and critically ill patients

Description of the unusual digestive tract of Platax orbicularis and the potential impact of Tenacibaculum maritimum infection

Background Ephippidae fish are characterized by a discoid shape with a very small visceral cavity. Among them Platax orbicularis has a high economic potential due to its flesh quality and flesh to carcass ratio. Nonetheless, the development of its aquaculture is limited by high mortality rates, especially due to Tenacibaculum maritimum infection, occurring one to three weeks after the transfer of fishes from bio-secure land-based aquaculture system to the lagoon cages for growth. Among the lines of defense against this microbial infection, the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) is less studied. The knowledge about the morphofunctional anatomy of this organ in P. orbicularis is still scarce. Therefore, the aims of this study are to characterize the GIT in non-infected P. orbicularis juveniles to then investigate the impact of T. maritimum on this multifunctional organ. Methods In the first place, the morpho-anatomy of the GIT in non-infected individuals was characterized using various histological techniques. Then, infected individuals, experimentally challenged by T. maritimum were analysed and compared to the previously established GIT reference. Results The overlapped shape of the GIT of P. orbicularis is probably due to its constrained compaction in a narrow visceral cavity. Firstly, the GIT was divided into 10 sections, from the esophagus to the rectum. For each section, the structure of the walls was characterized, with a focus on mucus secretions and the presence of the Na+/K+ ATPase pump. An identification key allowing the characterization of the GIT sections using in toto histology is given. Secondly, individuals challenged with T. maritimum exhibited differences in mucus type and proportion and, modifications in the mucosal and muscle layers. These changes could induce an imbalance in the trade-off between the GIT functions which may be in favour of protection and immunity to the disadvantage of nutrition capacities

In relapsed or refractory diffuse large B‐cell lymphoma, CD19 expression by immunohistochemistry alone is not a predictor of response to loncastuximab tesirine

Abstract CD19‐targeting treatments have shown promise in relapsed/refractory (R/R) diffuse large B‐cell lymphoma (DLBCL). Loncastuximab tesirine (loncastuximab tesirine‐lpyl [Lonca]) is a CD19‐targeting antibody‐drug conjugate indicated for R/R DLBCL after at least two systemic treatments. CD19 expression was evaluated in patients receiving Lonca in the LOTIS‐2 clinical trial with available tissue samples obtained after last systemic therapy/before Lonca treatment. Lonca cytotoxicity was evaluated in a panel of six lymphoma cell lines with various CD19 expression levels. Quantitative systems pharmacology (QSP) modelling was used to predict Lonca responses. Lonca responses were seen in patients across all CD19 expression levels, including patients with low/no detectable CD19 expression and H‐scores at baseline. Similarly, Lonca induced cytotoxicity in cell lines with different levels of CD19 expression, including one with very low expression. QSP modelling predicted that CD19 expression by immunohistochemistry alone does not predict Lonca response, whereas inclusion of CD19 surface density improved response prediction. Virtual patients responded to Lonca with estimated CD19 as low as 1000 molecules/cell of CD19, normally below the immunohistochemistry detection level. We found Lonca is an effective treatment for R/R DLBCL regardless of CD19 expression by immunohistochemistry. These results provide the basis for future studies addressing CD19‐targeted agent sequencing
