Importance of the game in the childhood age
Through the game, children develop cognitive, motor, social, affective and communicative abilities because the game favors situations in which children must understand rules, comply with rules, interact with other classmates... so the game becomes in a fundamental instrument at early ages for the full development of the person. Therefore, from the Infant Education classrooms we must take advantage of this motivating and complete resource, using it globally for the full development of our students
"Relationship between teachers, families and society"
The education of the little ones is a long and complex process that involves all the people that surround the students, that is to say, the children learn at home, in the school and in the street. That is why family, school and society must be united so that the education of children goes in the right direction. In this sense, we will see the importance of the relationship between teachers, family and society, as well as the communication channels between teachers and family and examples of activities to be carried out in society in collaboration with the school
The importance of working psychomotricity in childhood
When a baby comes into the world of his main source of communication with the world around him is his own body. This is where psychomotricity comes into action because through it the child has the possibility to develop as important as: laterality, coordination of movements, breathing... In this article we will look at the concept and characteristics of psychomotricity, the benefits that are provided to the smallest, the elements that integrate psychomotor development and some guidelines to take into account when working psychomotricity in the classroom
Attention to diversity in early childhood education
In the next article we talk about the variety of students that we find in the centers and the importance that has to serve them properly from the stage of early childhood education. This is because in the ages between 0 and 6 years are of vital importance in the development of the person. On the other hand, school and family have to work hand-on because they pursue the same goal: to achieve the full development of the skills and capacities of the child, so in this article clarify some measures to follow
Bilingual teaching from childhood education
Throughout this article we will talk about bilingual teaching from Early Childhood Education. We will define the bilingual teaching and we will see the different programs that we can find in the classrooms to teach it; We will analyze why this learning is so important since childhood. Then we will give a few brushstrokes on the methodology that we must carry out in the classroom for that purpose, as well as the materials and resources that we can count on to carry out this learning. This will be introduced from a first section dedicated to the teaching-learning of oral language
Introduction. The AIDS/HIV epidemic remains a major problem of Public Health in which
men and women are exposed unequally. However, preventive behavioral interventions
have rarely considered these differences; consequently, these have diminished their
potential effectiveness. For this reason, this study examines the existence of a differential
response between men and women for variables associated with risk infection, after
taking part in hiv-aids preventive strategies.
Method. 122 college students (18-24 years old; 45 % men and 55 % women), participated
in a inter-group comparison design. Young participants took part in several interventions
based on socio-cognitive models and full-filled, previous and afterwards (posttest,
1st follow-up, 2nd follow-up), the Cuestionario para la Prevención del Sida (Ballester,
Gil, Guirado and Bravo, 2004).
Results. In general, all the variables improved for men and women although only
women got better results significantly in condom’s advantages and the fear of HIV infection. On the other hand, men have improved more in safe sex than women and, at
long term, they have shown significant results in oral sex, vaginal sex and steady partner.
Conclusion. To sum up, our results support the differential impact among college students
depending on gender. In particular, behavioral variables seem to be more resistant
for women, meanwhile attitudinal variables are more difficult to change for men.
Therefore, analyzing in depth specific strategies to improve the differential resistant
variables for men and women is required
HIV Prevention Interventions for Young Male Commercial Sex Workers
The sex industry, where men sell sexual services to other men or women, has grown in recent years. These men who offer sexual services are particularly vulnerable to HIV infection due to such factors as: frequency of risky sexual practices, number of sex partners, drug-taking, prevalence of sexually-transmitted infections (STI) and their specific situation of social exclusion which may hinder access to health services. These multi-faceted realities faced by sex workers explain the burgeoning interest in new avenues of scientific research. There are too few preventive programs however aimed at this population group and the studies that evaluate their effectiveness are fewer still. In this article we survey more recent studies on the difficulties of implementing programs for HIV prevention in male sex workers (MSW), as well as the studies that have gauged the impact of preventive programs in this group
