One-particle inclusive CP asymmetries
One-particle inclusive CP asymmetries in the decays of the type B -> D(*) X
are considered in the framework of a QCD based method to calculate the rates
for one-particle inclusive decays.Comment: Latex, 13 pages, 6 figures (eps). Analytical and numerical results

CLEO Contributions to Tau Physics
We review many of the contributions of the CLEO experiment to tau physics.
Topics discussed are: branching fractions for major decay modes and tests of
lepton universality; rare decays; forbidden decays; Michel parameters and spin
physics; hadronic sub-structure and resonance parameters; the tau mass, tau
lifetime, and tau neutrino mass; searches for CP violation in tau decay; tau
pair production, dipole moments, and CP violating EDM; and tau physics at
CLEO-III and at CLEO-c.Comment: Invited talk at the Seventh International Workshop on Tau Lepton

CLEO Results on Tau Michel Parameters
We present measurements of the tau Michel Parameters made by the CLEO
experiment. Three different analyses are performed: a spin-independent lepton
spectrum analysis and a second spin-dependent analysis using \vs\
events, and a third spin-dependent analysis using \vs\
events. the results are used to derive limits on the general
four-fermion couplings, the mass of the charged Higgs in the MSSM, and a
right-handed in left-right models. Many of these measurements are more
precise than the PDG world averages.Comment: Invited talk at the TAU'98 Workshop, 14-17 September 1998, Santander,

The Cleo III Ring Imaging Cherenkov Detector
The CLEO detector has been upgraded to include a state of the art particle
identification system, based on the Ring Imaging Cherenkov Detector (RICH)
technology, in order to take data at the upgraded CESR electron positron
collider. The expected performance is reviewed, as well as the preliminary
results from an engineering run during the first few months of operation of the
CLEO III detector.Comment: 5 pages, 2 Figures Talk given by M. Artuso at 8th Pisa Meeting on

Using Semantic Similarity and Text Embedding to Measure the Social Media Echo of Strategic Communications
Online discourse covers a wide range of topics and many actors tailor their
content to impact online discussions through carefully crafted messages and
targeted campaigns. Yet the scale and diversity of online media content make it
difficult to evaluate the impact of a particular message. In this paper, we
present a new technique that leverages semantic similarity to quantify the
change in the discussion after a particular message has been published. We use
a set of press releases from environmental organisations and tweets from the
climate change debate to show that our novel approach reveals a heavy-tailed
distribution of response in online discourse to strategic communications.Comment: 12 pages, 5 figure
An Evaluation of Hive Connecting Creativity
Hive, a Shipley based charity, run a variety of creative courses. Three of their programmes - Thrive, Flourish and Make@Hive – are run for people with low to moderate mental health problems by project workers and volunteers, with the aim of improving wellbeing. The Centre for Health Promotion Research (CHPR) at Leeds Beckett University (LBU) were asked to evaluate the impact of these programmes on service users
