Extraction and primary processing of natural minerals have a direct human impact on the lithosphere in the following way: the area of excavation and the area covered by rock dumps of overburden and substandard rocks increase; the landscape also changes. This problem occurs on all operated deposits and exists in out-of-operation deposits. This paper performs a critical analysis of environmental implications of anthropogenic impacts as a result of Syzran shale-processing refinery work Rock dumps parameters № 1 of Mine 3 and № 2 of Mine 5/6 of ZAO "Kashpirskaya Mine" are investigated. Rock dumps depth and surface ares, conservation volume and utilization capacity are considered to be landscape modifying parametres. The research demonstrates rock dumps parameters change in the period from 1950 to 2002. The paper evaluates the degree of anthropogenic impact of dumps territories and burnt rocks burials which were formed during the extraction of oil shale at Syzran shale-processing refinery. Those rock dumps resulted in the following transformation and change of the natural system and landscape: curvature of the slopes altered, soil and vegetation cover was dislocated. The only industry capable of reducing ecological tension in the region is building industry

In Situ Synthesis of Silver Nanoparticles in Linear and Branched Polymer Matrices

    Get PDF
Silver nanoparticles were synthesized in linear and branched polymer matrices at different temperatures. The template role of the host linear Polyacrylamide and star-like copolymer Dextran-graft-Polyacrylamide for in situ synthesis of nanoparticles was studied by TEM, UV-Vis spectrophotometry and Dynamic light scattering. It was shown that the internal structure of polymers in solution drastically affects the process of Ag NPs formation. Branched polymer matrix allows to obtain a stable silver colloid even at high temperature when the linear PAA matrix is not efficient. Get PDF
The application of finite element simulation to the problem of roll pass design for round bar rolling is considered. Two roll pass sequences were developed by analytical methods and then optimized using 2.5D Finite Element Method (FEM). The first one is a classical oval-round roll pass design. The second one is a combination of flat rolls and round roll passes. Relying on the simulation data obtained by FEM, the roll gaps were adjusted to achieve the required bar shape and the uniform distribution of rolling force between the passes. Advantages and disadvantages of each roll pass design were considered.Web of Science541787

Metal/semiconductor (Au/CdS) nanocomposites were synthesized in the solution of branched D-g-PAA polymer. TEM and DLS of Au/CdS/D-g-PAA nanocomposites revealed complicated nanocomposite structure consisting of the Au nanoparticles (NPs) of 6 nm in size surrounded by small CdS NPs with size of 3 nm. These nanocomposites formed the aggregates-clusters with average size of 50–800 nm. Absorption spectra of Au/CdS nanocomposites consist of the bands of excitons in CdS NPs and surface plasmons in Au ones. The surface plasmon band of gold NPs is red shifted and broadened in Au/CdS/D-g-PAA nanocomposites comparing to the one of Au NPs in Au/D-g-PAA proving the fact of close location of CdS and Au NPs in the synthesized Au/CdS/D-g-PAA nanocomposites. The PL spectra of Au/CdS nanocomposites originate from the radiative transitions in excitons in CdS NPs. The 4-fold increase of intensity of free exciton PL is observed for CdS NPs in Au/CdS/D-g-PAA comparing to CdS ones in CdS/D-g-PAA that is due to PL enhancement by local field of surface plasmons of Au NPs. Also, the 12-fold decrease of intensity of localized exciton PL is observed for CdS NPs in Au/CdS/D-g-PAA comparing to CdS ones in CdS/D-g-PAA. Most probably, it is due to passivation of the surface of CdS NPs carried out by the Au ones

Introduction Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) caused by SARS-CoV-2 virus identified in 2019, forces cardiology departments to quickly adapt existing clinical guidelines to the new reality, and this is particularly relevant for scheduling patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS). The article demonstrates how COVID-19 has affected emergency cardiac surgery care. Objective To analyze the features of completed cases of emergency coronary artery bypass grafting (ECABG) and COVID-19 diagnosed during the postoperative period at the Research Institute – Ochapovsky Regional Hospital no. 1 for the period from May 1, 2020 to February 1, 2021. Material and Methods Completed cases of ECABG have been retrospectively studied. EACS was performed in 145 patients: in 79 people with unstable angina pectoris (NS), in 40 with Q-negative myocardial infarction (MI), in 14 cases with primary Q-positive MI, in 12 patients with recurrent MI. The condition for ECABG was a negative SARS-Cov-2 PCR result and the absence of viral pneumonia by CT. The patients were divided into 2 subgroups. The first one included people with ECABG that were not diagnosed with COVID-19 during postoperative follow-up in the hospital. Subgroup II had patients with ECABG and COVID-19 diagnosed during the hospitalization. Results Contingency tables showed a statistically significant interaction between group membership and mortality, 2.3% (n = 3) in subgroup 1 and 20% (n = 3) in subgroup 2, Pearson’s test χ2 = 10.6, p < 0.05. When analyzing survival rate in the EACS + COVID-19 subgroup, it is worth paying attention to the cumulative proportion of survivors, considering the severity of the course of viral pneumonia. The proportion of such patients with CT-4 by the 32nd day of hospital stay was 0.3.Conclusions Mortality rate in the postoperative course after ECABG with COVID-19 is significantly higher. In patients who underwent ECABG and died in the early and late postoperative period from COVID-19, a new coronavirus infection was diagnosed at a later date. In these cases, a considerably longer duration of CPB and a higher level of ferritin were revealed at the time of transference to the observation department. Survival rate in ECABG patients due to primary Q-negative MI is significantly lower in comparison with patients hospitalized for unstable angina

The purpose of the research was to determine the effect of feed nutrients, in particular, silage prepared from a wheat-oat mixture with the use of the probiotic preparation kt-l 18/1 (selection of the probiotics laboratory of the institute of agricultural microbiology and apv) in a dose of 8.0 ml of suspension per 1 ton of green mass on the fractional composition of milk proteins and its qualityand on the productivity of cows in the forest-steppe zone of the Carpathian region. The research was carried out on two groups of lactating cows of the Ukrainian black-spotted breed, similar in age, live weight and milk yield for the previous lactation, 10 cows each. In each the animals of both groups received the basic diet, in addition to which the cows of the control group were fed 20 kg of wheat-oat silage prepared on the farm according to traditional technology, and the experimental group - 19 kg of silage preserved with the use of the probiotic KT-l 18/1. It was established that the use of probiotics for harvesting silage contributed to obtaining a high-quality product, the introduction of which into the rations of cows in the transition period made it possible to minimize the deficit of dry matter (from 19.8 to 9.1%) and protein (from 4.2% to2.1%), and in winter – from 28.0 to 8.5% in terms of dry matter and from 10.1 to 0% in terms of protein, respectively. The study of the chemical composition showed an increase in the content of dry matter, mainly due to the total protein, fat and casein in the milk of experimental cows both in the transitional and stable periods of retention The milk of the cows of the research group during the stable period of storage contained more dry matter, fat, total protein and casein, respectively, by 4.8; 3,4; 5.2 and 5.6% than the control, which led to an increase in its density by 0.7 оА. In the milk of experimental cows, the improvement of parameters affecting its syrupiness was noted: casein content, density. According to both the reductase test and the fermentation test, which indicates the presence of gas-forming microflora in the milk and its syrupy quality, the milk of the control cows was assigned to the ІІ, and the experimental cows to the І quality class. The average daily yield of natural milk for 45 days of the accounting period in the experimental group was 16.7 kg and was 5.7% higher than in the control group (15.8 kg).
