Political Behaviour of the Bulgarian Muslim Community

    Get PDF
Since the fall of the communist regime in Bulgaria in 1989, all Muslims in the country have come to experience a changed situation in which democratic consequences are evident: possession of individual rights and freedoms, intensification of contacts with the Muslim world, and free political expression. Because the political heritage of the dismantled communist system is quite original in Bulgaria, in comparison with a number of other Balkan countries, a specific confessional model can be witnessed

Pairing symmetry and long range pair potential in a weak coupling theory of superconductivity

We study the superconducting phase with two component order parameter scenario, such as, dx2y2+eiθsαd_{x^2-y^2} + e^{i\theta}s_{\alpha}, where α=xy,x2+y2\alpha = xy, x^2+y^2. We show, that in absence of orthorhombocity, the usual dx2y2d_{x^2-y^2} does not mix with usual sx2+y2s_{x^2+y^2} symmetry gap in an anisotropic band structure. But the sxys_{xy} symmetry does mix with the usual d-wave for θ=0\theta =0. The d-wave symmetry with higher harmonics present in it also mixes with higher order extended ss wave symmetry. The required pair potential to obtain higher anisotropic dx2y2d_{x^2-y^2} and extended s-wave symmetries, is derived by considering longer ranged two-body attractive potential in the spirit of tight binding lattice. We demonstrate that the dominant pairing symmetry changes drastically from dd to ss like as the attractive pair potential is obtained from longer ranged interaction. More specifically, a typical length scale of interaction ξ\xi, which could be even/odd multiples of lattice spacing leads to predominant s/ds/d wave symmetry. The role of long range interaction on pairing symmetry has further been emphasized by studying the typical interplay in the temperature dependencies of these higher order dd and ss wave pairing symmetries.Comment: Revtex 8 pages, 7 figures embeded in the text, To appear in PR

SYSTEM DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS OF UNIVERSAL UHF RFID READER TRANSCEIVER ICS

    Get PDF
This paper describes the architecture, system analysis and implementation of world-wide regulation compliant UHF RFID reader transceiver for ISO 18000-6 multi-class tags in the ISM band 860 MHz…960 MHz. The presented considerations based on system analysis providing evaluation of the transceiver’s building blocks parameters (Phase Noise, Noise Figure, Sensitivity, P1dB, Dynamic Range etc.) in accordance with required characteristics of complete RFID reader system, i.e. data transmission rate, read range, power consumption, and reading speed etc. Design considerations are introduced for a custom «system-in-package» transceiver, implemented in LTCC-module. Based on direct-conversion architecture, the reader transceiver integrates RF-blocks, frequency synthesizer, modulation and demodulation functions, low frequency analog baseband. The receiver sensitivity is down to - 85 dBm, the transmitter produces output power of +17 dB

Electronic band structure of three-dimensional topological insulators with different stoichiometry composition

We report on a comparative theoretical and experimental investigation of the electronic band structure of a family of three-dimensional topological insulators, AIVBi4Te7−xSex (AIV= Sn, Pb;x = 0, 1). We prove by means of density functional theory calculations and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy measurements that partial or total substitution of heavy atoms by lighter isoelectronic ones affects the electronic properties of topological insulators. In particular, we show that the modification of the Dirac cone position relative to the Fermi level and the bulk band gap size can be controlled by varying the stoichiometry of the compound. We also demonstrate that the investigated systems are inert to oxygen exposure. The authors acknowledge financial support from the Saint Petersburg State University (Grant No. 40990069), the Tomsk State University competitiveness improvement program (Grant No. 8.1.01.2018), the Fundamental Research Program of the State Academies of Sciences (line of research III.23.2.9), and the project EUROFEL-ROADMAP ESFRI. Spiritualism and Science Fiction. Spiritualism nowadays.

Spritualism and Science Fiction   Spiritualism and its ideas have fascinated the public's imagination over the course of the last century and a half, even after the movement lost some part of its appeal after the second decade of the nineteenth century. Still its ideas have always taken part in the creation of many fiction stories spanning over a variety of genres. In the third part of our presentation we would like to explore some of these processes. In its most basic form (communication wit..

    Western European Islam

The appearance of Muslim minorities in the countries of Western Europe is the result of constant and varying intensity of immigration. Their origin is exogenous, some of them are already second and even third generation residents. However, they all know and remember their "motherland", with which they enter into interesting emotional relationships. To a large extent, the nature of ties and especially the attitude to the "motherland" influence the degree of integration of the new Europeans. It is not uncommon for problematic integration processes to lead to mistrust of the state, accumulation of internal anger, and unleashing of discontent, escalating into violence, even deliberate acts of terrorism. The book is aimed at a wide readership, as it lifts the veil around the activities of numerous state institutions and societal factors in Europe related to the complex matter of migration, minority integration, human rights and religious extremism. This analysis is of utmost importance for the perception and shaping of the future of the continent, and in particular of the European Union.A similar analysis is necessary for Bulgaria as a corridor country for the mass immigration of exogenous Muslims. A number of new statistics show that our country is increasingly becoming the final destination of the Muslim immigration flow. This trend will intensify after the revolutions in the Arab countries since the beginning of the year
