We present a nonparametric way to retrieve a system of differential equations in embedding space from a single time series. These equations can be treated with dynamical systems theory and allow for long term predictions. Kinetic and reactor modelling of lipases catalyzed (R,S)-1-phenylethanol resolution

This study was focused on the development of a kinetic model and a reactor model for the enzymatic resolution of (R,S)-1-phenylethanol. The reaction progress curves catalyzed by immobilized lipases, ChiroCLEC-PC in batch stirred tank reactor were used to develop the kinetic model. The resolution followed Ping-Pong Bi-Bi mechanism with the inhibition of lauric acid, (R,S)-1-phenylethanol and water. The validity of the model was verified by fitting it to another experimental data catalyzed by immobilized lipases, Chirazyme L2, c.-f., C3, lyo at the same reaction conditions. The rate equation was then applied for the development of reactor model in a recirculated packed bed reactor system. The overall effectiveness factor and Peclet number were used to determine the mass transfer and axial dispersion limitation in the reactor performance. The reactor model was verified by fitting it to the larger scale reactor data with the correlation coefficient value more than 0.99

This project analyses a novel by Amy Chua entitled Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother. The aims of the project are to make a summary of the novel by exposing the difference between Chinese and American parenting system and revealing the implicit opinions of the society in the novel about the Chinese and American parenting system. The method that underlies this project is cultural heritage method by Helaine Ruggles, D Fairchild The methods used in this study are library research and. The analysis shows that in this novel the writer represents the Chinese parents with Chinese parenting system and compares with the American parenting systemthat later creates society’s opinion

Evidence for Factorization in Three-body Bˉ→D(∗)K−K0\bar B\to D^{(*)} K^- K^0 Decays

Motivated by experimental results on $\bar B\to D^{(*)}K^-K^{0}$, we use a factorization approach to study these decays. Two mechanisms concerning kaon pair production arise: current-produced (from vacuum) and transition (from the $B$ meson). The kaon pair in the $\bar B {}^0\to D^{(*)+}K^-K^0$ decays can be produced only by the vector current (current-produced), whose matrix element can be extracted from $e^+e^-\to K\bar K$ processes via isospin relations. The decay rates obtained this way are in good agreement with experiment. The $B^-\to D^{(*)0}K^-K^0$ decays involve both current-produced and transition processes. By using QCD counting rules and the measured $B^-\to D^{(*)0} K^- K^0$ decay rates, the measured decay spectra can be understood.Comment: 3 pages, 6 figures.
