Banking industry is one of the country’s key economy drivers and acts as a control mechanism for the flow of capital. Thus, performance of banking industry has highly attracted concern from scholars, senior management, regulators and investors from the country. Middle management is the core pillar and successor of the senior management for the bank. The talents from this group are empowered to operate the bank’s core business and their performance will directly affect the banks’ performance. As a result of that banks’ performances are high associated with the middle management’s motivation and engagement aspects. Therefore, it is important for banks to retain them as they will bring the banks to move to next miles stone. Various factors influence the middle management’s motivation level which covers extrinsic value, intrinsic value, leadership, working environment, organizational culture, job security, career development, effective of communication, clear career path, participation in decision making, organization’s goal, branding and social opportunity. All these factors will result in high engagement which leads to an increase in employee performance, job satisfaction and high retention rate, reduction in absenteeism in organization, promotion on organization value and team harmony and elimination in the negative attitude of employees. This will benefit the banks’ bottom line by increasing productivity and reducing re-training cost. Consequently of that, Human Resource Management (HRM) plays an important role in driving employee motivation and employee engagement. The aim of this study is to examine the importance of employee motivation and employee engagement in the middle management of Malaysia banking industry and the relationship between employee motivation and employee engagement. This study found that employee motivation and employee engagement were important to middle management in the Malaysia banking industry. On top of that, it indicated that the relationship between employee motivation and employee engagement were moderate positive correlation. Therefore, 14 recommendations which include the priority and rollout plan are presented for senior management in Malaysia banking industry to enhance their middle management’s engagement strategy

Keloid : multicentre study on the outcome of multimodality management

Introduction: Keloids are benign hyperproliferative growths of dermal fibroblasts characterized by the excessive deposition of extracellular matrix components, especially collagen, fibronectin, elastin, proteoglycans, and growth factors such as TGF-β. They remain difficult to improve despite a plethora of advocated treatment strategies frequently observed in daily clinical routine. Hence, multimodality treatment is often recommended for optimum control of the disease. This study aims to assess the outcome of intralesional triamcinolone acetonide (TAC) injections with concurrent scar massage in management of keloid scarring in our setting, in order to optimise its management in the local population. Methods:This is a prospective observational study conducted in the Reconstructive Sciences Unit, Hospital UniversitiSains Malaysia (Hospital USM) and the Department of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL). This study involves the collection of POSAS scores from patients with keloid scars while they undergo treatment with intralesional TAC injections with concurrent scar massage. The POSAS scores is used to analyse the treatment outcome of keloid scars in the Malaysian population

"The book covers the recent developments in the field of materials for advancing recording technology by experts worldwide. Chapters that provide sufficient information on the fundamentals will be also included, so that the book can be followed by graduate students or a beginner in the field of magnetic recording. The book also would have a few chapters related to optical data storage. In addition to helping a graduate student to quickly grasp the subject, the book also will serve as a useful reference material for the advanced researcher. The field of materials science related to data storage applications (especially hard disk drives) is rapidly growing. Several innovations take place every year in order to keep the growth trend in the capacity of the hard disk drives. Moreover, magnetic recording is very complicated that it is quite difficult for new engineers and graduate students in the field of materials science or electrical engineering to grasp the subject with a good understanding. There are no competing books in this area, considering that a book that may look 50% similar to the proposed book was published in 2001. A span of 6 years is too long gap, considering the progress this field makes every year"--"The book covers the recent developments in the field of materials for advancing recording technology by experts worldwide.
