WRC report on assessment of ongoing labor violations in the Chong Won factory in the Philippines. Connects abuses to the larger issue of political violence in the country, which blocks efforts to protect worker rights
Measurements of laminar flame speeds of acetone/methane/air mixtures
The effect of acetone on the laminar flame speed of methane/air mixtures is investigated over a range of stoichiometries at atmospheric pressure and room temperature. The liquid acetone is vaporised and seeded into the methane/air mixture at 5%, 9% and 20% of the total fuel by mole. The experiment is performed using the jet-wall stagnation flame configuration and the particle imaging velocimetry (PIV) technique. Laminar flame speeds are derived by extrapolating the reference flame speed back to zero strain rate. Experimental results are compared to numerically calculated values using a base methane chemical kinetic mechanism (GRI-Mech 3.0) extended with acetone oxidation and pyrolysis reactions from the literature. The experimental results show that acetone addition does not affect the laminar flame speed of methane significantly within the range of concentrations considered, with a stronger effect on the rich range than under fuel-lean conditions, and that the peak laminar flame speed of acetone in air is ~42.5 cm/s at ϕ = 1.2. Simulation results reveal that the most important reactions determining acetone laminar flame speeds are H + O2 → O + OH, OH + CO → H + CO2, HO2 + CH3 → OH + CH3O and H + O2 + H2O → HO2 + H2O. Comparison of the expected disappearance of acetone relative to methane shows that the former is a good fluorescent marker for the latter
Open questions about Ramsey-type statements in reverse mathematics
Ramsey's theorem states that for any coloring of the n-element subsets of N
with finitely many colors, there is an infinite set H such that all n-element
subsets of H have the same color. The strength of consequences of Ramsey's
theorem has been extensively studied in reverse mathematics and under various
reducibilities, namely, computable reducibility and uniform reducibility. Our
understanding of the combinatorics of Ramsey's theorem and its consequences has
been greatly improved over the past decades. In this paper, we state some
questions which naturally arose during this study. The inability to answer
those questions reveals some gaps in our understanding of the combinatorics of
Ramsey's theorem.Comment: 15 page

Sran'sf/caV Package /or <Sbc;'a/ Aaence (SPSS) versi 11.0, manakala maklum balas
Manakala persoaian kajian kedua, pelajar
turut bersetuju bahawa isi kandungan MPE Pengenalan Pelancongan H i l l dapat
meningkatkan tahap pemahaman mereka (skor min keseluruhan 3.654). Seterusnya

An active interferometric method for extreme impedance on-wafer device measurements
Nano-scale devices and high-power transistors present extreme impedances, which are far removed from the 50-Ω reference impedance of conventional test equipment, resulting in a reduction in the measurement sensitivity as compared with impedances close to the reference impedance. This letter describes a novel method based on active interferometry to increase the measurement sensitivity of a vector network analyzer for measuring such extreme impedances, using only a single coupler. The theory of the method is explained with supporting simulation. An interferometry-based method is demonstrated for the first time with on-wafer measurements, resulting in an improved measurement sensitivity for extreme impedance device characterization of up to 9%
Antiparasitic effect of formalin, trichlorfon, hydrogen peroxide, and copper sulfate on the parasitic isopod Caecognathia coralliophila
Caecognathia coralliophila is known as a pathogenic ectoparasite infecting tiger grouper Epinephelus fuscoguttatus in a hatchery in Sabah, Malaysia. The effects of copper sulfate, formalin, trichlorfon, and hydrogen peroxide on the survival of C. coralliophila larvae were tested in vitro. The larvae were exposed to different concentrations of each chemical for 10, 20, 30, 60 min, or 24 h. Trichlorfon was found to be the most effective, killing the parasites within 24 h at 0.2 ppm. Consequently, the toxicity of trichlorfon to tiger grouper was tested. Fish were exposed to trichlorfon at 0.2 ppm for 24 h or 3.2 ppm for 60 min. No fish died in the experiment. Thus, our data suggest that trichlorfon is effective for treating C. coralliophilainfection in E. fuscoguttatus
Heat Transfer And Deformation Of Flexible Printed Circuit Board With Multi Ball Grid Array Packages
The rapid development of electronic and microelectronic technology increases the demands for electronics device with flexible and light weight capability. Flexible printed circuit board (FPCB) which can be used to replace rigid printed circuit board (RPCB) is well equipped with those features. However, the soft feature of FPCB poses unwanted deflection (δ) and stress from the flow and heat generated by the operating components. In present research, thermal and flow effects on FPCB with attached ball grid array (BGA) packages have been investigated where the numerical simulation with coupled of flow and thermal effects concurrently has been successfully developed in the simulation. The effects of flow are studied at the initial stage of the research, followed by the addition of heat source to the BGA packages. The experimental work with actual attached ball grid array (BGA) packages was carried out to verify and validate the results. Findings show that better heat transfer performance on FPCB with an average 24 % higher than RPCB. Several parametric factors are explored including flow velocities (v) (1 – 5 m/s), 1 - 4 number of BGA packages attached, power supplied to the BGA packages (0 – 0.213 W), size of FPCB (80mm2 – 140mm2) and distance between BGA packages (15 mm – 45 mm). The heat transfer coefficient (h) has been added into the responses to study the heat transfer in the cases that involved heat source. Later on, v, δ and h had been normalized into dimensionless Reynolds number (Re), δ/length of FPCB (L) and Nusselt number
