    Ordering and pricing decisions in a closed-loop supply chain with fuzzy demand

    This paper investigates ordering and pricing decisions in a closed-loop supply chain with fuzzy demand. In this paper, the market demand is characterized as a fuzzy variable and two settings, decentralized channel and centralized channel, are considered. Based on game theory and fuzzy theory, the optimal ordering decision and the optimal recovery prices are given for each setting. The factors that impact the optimal ordering decision and the optimal recovery prices are also found.     Exploration of Effective Spatial Performance of Accessible Neighbourhood Green (Ang), Including its Proportion and Standard Distance from User in Dhanmondi Residential Area, Dhaka

    Urban physical context can be analyzed across three key matrixes (3-P) among others i.e. place, path, and people. So, pragmatic analysis of spatial effective performances connecting 3-P, require provoking frequency of people’s experience. Acknowledging this issue, the demand for accessible neighbourhood green (ANG) at an appropriate distance becomes the primary concern to enhance the quality of life and liveability in a city. However, with the continued urban growth and densification, the discrepancy between the demand and supply of open space continues to vary requiring adjustments to remain responsive. The real-life circumstance results in a shortage of parks and open areas in terms of demand and supply within accessible distance in Dhaka city. This paper intends to examine this issue through the case of the planned Dhanmondi Residential Area (DRA) in Dhaka. Despite having provision of multiple open spaces in DRA, visitor’s frequency varies due to age and gender group accessibility conditions and varying distances. Considering existing spatial norms set by Detail Area Plan (DAP), Dhaka structure plan (DSP), and numerous research works on Dhaka open spaces, the major inquiry posed here is whether these open spaces are appropriate for DRA or not. Therefore, the objective of this paper focuses on examining the quality of the physical environment of Neighbourhood public open spaces termed here as accessible neighbourhood green (ANG) in DRA to examine their adequacy concerning proportion and distance synchronized with the frequency of visits. The initial part of the paper focuses on conceptualizing the problem vis-à-vis the existing scenario.  Surveys and interviews have been conducted to assess people’s perceptions in terms of comfort, accessibility, sociability, and user frequency aligned with proximity. The result indicates that the provision of one appropriate ANG within two or three standard blocks apart contribute to enhancing the quality of life for the city dwellers and their liveability

    A review of refrigerant maldistribution

    In recent years, conservation of energy has become a challenging issue in air-conditioning applications. In order to overcome this issue, many researchers have recommended the use of a Parallel Flow Condenser and a low Global Warming Potential and Ozone Depletion Potential refrigerant, such as R32, in air conditioning systems. However, PFC faces the critical challenge of flow maldistribution in the tubes. This literature review mainly examines the refrigerant maldistribution problem which has been investigated by previous researchers. It was found that many of the researchers did not properly analyse the influence of flow maldistribution profiles on the performance degradation of heat exchangers. In order to have a comprehensive analysis of tube-side maldistribution in Parallel Flow microchannel heat exchangers, it is recommended that the influence of the higher statistical moments of the probability density function of the flow maldistribution profiles on performance degradation be quantified. Additionally, R32 maldistribution should be analysed and compared with R410A, which is the current commonly used refrigerant in air conditioning units. Moreover, in order to have a realistic simulation of the effect of refrigerant flow maldistribution profiles on performance degradation of heat exchangers, the effect of superheat and sub-cooling must be analysed

    Assessing Sexual Orientation Symptoms In Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder: Development And Validation Of The Sexual Orientation Obsessions And Reactions Test (SORT)

    Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) includes many symptom presentations, which creates unique diagnostic challenges. Fears surrounding one’s sexual orientation are common within OCD (also called SO-OCD), but SO-OCD is consistently misdiagnosed by physicians and psychologists. To address this issue, we describe the development of a self-report measure for assessing SO-OCD to help distinguish OCD from distress caused by a sexual orientation identity crisis. The current paper details two studies that established the psychometric properties and clinical utility of this measure. In Study 1, the factor structure, validity, and reliability were examined for the measure’s 12 items in a sample of 1,673 university students. The results revealed a two-factor solution for the measure (Factor 1: Transformation Fears; Factor 2: Somatic Checking) and preliminary evidence of validity and reliability. In Study 2, the measure was tested with LGBTQ and heterosexual community samples and clinical samples of individuals with SO-OCD and other types of OCD. The two-factor solution and evidence of validity and reliability were supported in these samples. Cut-off points were established to distinguish between community members and SO-OCD sufferers, as well as between those experiencing SO-OCD and other types of OCD.     Wave Propagation in Gravitational Systems: Late Time Behavior

    It is well-known that the dominant late time behavior of waves propagating on a Schwarzschild spacetime is a power-law tail; tails for other spacetimes have also been studied. This paper presents a systematic treatment of the tail phenomenon for a broad class of models via a Green's function formalism and establishes the following. (i) The tail is governed by a cut of the frequency Green's function G~(ω)\tilde G(\omega) along the -~Im~ω\omega axis, generalizing the Schwarzschild result. (ii) The ω\omega dependence of the cut is determined by the asymptotic but not the local structure of space. In particular it is independent of the presence of a horizon, and has the same form for the case of a star as well. (iii) Depending on the spatial asymptotics, the late time decay is not necessarily a power law in time. The Schwarzschild case with a power-law tail is exceptional among the class of the potentials having a logarithmic spatial dependence. (iv) Both the amplitude and the time dependence of the tail for a broad class of models are obtained analytically. (v) The analytical results are in perfect agreement with numerical calculations
