    Copyright in Universities: An Exploratory Study from Vietnam

    International law and the laws of most nations today acknowledge and safeguard the intellectual property rights of both organizations and individuals. This recognition serves to stimulate innovative and creative endeavors, facilitate the dissemination of scientific, technological, cultural, and artistic advancements, foster economic and societal development, and enhance the overall quality of life. Intellectual property assumes a critical role as a driving force behind innovation and creativity, fostering the growth of a nation's intellectual assets in terms of both quantity and value. This, in turn, contributes to bolstering creative capabilities and fostering a healthy competitive environment. Nevertheless, intellectual property rights violations are not uncommon, particularly in the context of higher education institutions in Vietnam. In this article, the authors employ qualitative research methods, following the "three-step test" outlined in the Berne Convention of 1971 for the protection of literary and artistic works, in conjunction with the stipulations of Vietnamese Intellectual Property Law. The results of this examination aid in the identification and location of infringements on the author's rights, such as inappropriate citation and plagiarism within university settings. Subsequently, the authors propose various solutions, which include legal adjustments, strategies for managing intellectual property, the establishment of cross-sectoral and inter-university networks, and the regulation of the responsibilities of scientific councils. These measures are intended to mitigate instances of intellectual property rights violations within Vietnamese universities in the present day.     Vietnam's socioeconomic status influence on the passport power

    Passports are indeed becoming increasingly important in our interconnected world. As the world becomes more interconnected through trade, travel, and digital communication, the need for international travel has grown. Passports are essential for individuals to move across borders, whether for tourism, business, or personal reasons. International education and employment opportunities have become more accessible and desirable. Students and professionals often need passports to study or work abroad. Countries with stable political and economic conditions tend to have passports that grant their citizens greater visa-free access to other nations. As a result, passport strength can be a reflection of a country's overall stability and standing in the world. Many countries enter into bilateral or multilateral agreements to allow visa-free travel between their citizens. A strong passport, with visa-free access to many countries, can simplify travel and reduce costs and administrative burdens. Indeed, a country's socioeconomic status can have a significant impact on its passport power. The socioeconomic factors of a nation, such as its economic strength, political stability, and human development indicators, often correlate with the global acceptance and strength of its passport.  While socioeconomic factors are important, it's essential to remember that passport power is a complex interplay of various elements, including diplomatic relations, international agreements, and economic strength. Therefore, while socioeconomic status is a crucial element, it is just one piece of the puzzle in determining a passport's global influence

    Optimal Design of V-Shaped Fin Heat Sink for Active Antenna Unit of 5G Base Station

    The active antenna unit (AAU) is one of the main parts of the 5G base station, which has a large size and a high density of chipsets, and operates at a significantly high temperature. This systematic study presents an optimal design for the heat sink of an AAU with a V-shaped fin arrangement. First, a simulation of the heat dissipation was conducted on two designs of the heat sink – in-line and V-shaped fins – which was validated by experimental results. The result shows that the heat sink with V-shaped fins performed better compared to conventional models such as heat sinks with in-line fins. Secondly, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and the Lagrange interpolation method were applied to find out an optimal set of design parameters for the heat sink. It is worth noting that the optimal parameters of the orientation angle and fin spacing considerably affected the heat sink’s performance.

    Employee turnover has become a great concern and sleepless night of human resource managers. Recently, many researches had been conducted to answer the question why employees wish to change their jobs. The majority of these studies are trying to find out what are the factors affecting their decisions. These kinds of studies are tapping at the behavioral aspect of turnover. However, in banking sector, there have not been many studies on the attitudinal aspect of turnover. This is a gap in studying on employee turnover. The purpose of this study is to fill the gap and answer the question under the approach on the attitudinal side. This kind of view on turnover is originated by the idea that beliefs and attitude have an extent of guidance on behavior intention and actual behavior. If we can change their attitude and limit their behavioral intention, the chance of their actual turnover behavior shall be reduced

    Factors affecting the decision to choose a university of high school students: A study in An Giang Province, Vietnam

    It is important to provide high school students with the necessary information for them to consult and make a decision to choose a university. The study aims to identify and evaluate the influence of factors in the decision to choose a university for high school students. The questionnaire survey method was used to collect data from 393 students from eight high schools in An Giang Province, Vietnam. Exploratory factor analysis and linear regression were used to analyze the data. The research results show that students are quite satisfied and quite certain with their decision to choose a university, while there are six important factors affecting the decision to choose a university. Influential factors with decreasing order of magnitude are: i) Factors consulted by teachers, family, friends, and relatives; ii) Factors of future job opportunities; iii) Factors of media activities; iv) Factors of learning conditions; v) Factors of university reputation; vi) Factors belong to the students themselves. The findings of the study show that there is no statistically significant difference between the group of males and females, between grades 10, 11, and 12. Besides, there is a statistically significant difference between students in high schools. The findings of this study have theoretical and practical implications for university admissions in Vietnam. Proposals made to university administrators were discussed. From the research results, we want to help students find the right university, and support universities to improve the efficiency of admissions

    Corporate Social Responsibility, Board of Directors’ Affect Financial Performance: Evidence in Vietnam

    ABSTRACT Purpose: The study aims to explore corporate social responsibility and corporate governance issues such as the board of directors’ characteristics that affect the financial performance of the manufacturing listed companies on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange in Vietnam.   Theoretical framework: The study is based on the agency theory, stakeholder theory and the fundamental corporate social responsibility to clarify its role and the importance of information disclosure to interested parties when making economic decisions.   Methodology: Using pooled Ordinary least squares causes biased results because of autocorrelation and heteroscedasticity, thus the authors conduct Feasible Generalized Least Squares to increase the reliability of findings.   Findings: The research results show that there are four statistically significant factors that affect financial performance: corporate social responsibility, board gender diversity, ownership concentration, and government ownership.   Research, Practical & Social implications: The obtained results highlight the direct relationship between corporate social responisibility and financial performance, implying that these listed companies can improve their firm value based on the mentioned factors.   Originality/value: by examing the significant relationship between CSR and performance, the author emphasizes the role of managers in disclosing information relevant to their responsibilies to the environment and community. The problem is still a limited concern by corporates in the emerging market as Vietnam

    Design and Analysis of Ternary m-sequences with Interleaved Structure by d-Transform

    Multilevel sequences find more and more applications in modern modulation schemes [4QPSK, 8QPSK,16QAM..]  for the 3G ,4G system air interface [1,2].Furthermore, in modern cryptography they are also widerly used. It is also interesting to point out that the length L of these sequences are composite numbers( L=NS),that means the sequence can be easily implemented by interleaving S subsequences, each of length S.Therefore, the methods to develop multilevel sequence with interleaved structure draw a lot of attentions [3, 4]. In this contribution, a method for design and analysis of ternary m-sequences with interleaved structure is presented, based on the d-transform, Which turns out to be a very effective and versal tool for this purpose. Simulations have been made to verify the theory. We first introduce d-transform and its properties and then work out the procedure to design an interleaving sequence in d-transform.
