Attention restoration benefits of integrating green space into office environment
Previous studies have demonstrated that having contact with natural environments can result in attention restoration for people who are mentally fatigued. In spite of this knowledge, we do not know the extent to which green indoor places impact attention restoration. Studies assessing the impact of green indoor spaces on attention have focus on potted plants and the findings have been mixed – often showing small or null results. In this thesis, I aim to find out if a larger scale of indoor greening, like indoor green space in the atrium, can help people recover from attention fatigue. This study explores such a possibility through an experiment in which 60 office workers were randomly assigned to simulated office environments with or without a window view of green atriums. We measured participants' attention functioning by Visual Reaction Time Test, Digit Span Backwards and the Color Stroop Test. Our result shows that the window view of indoor green space has some effects on attention restoration and that the impact of such spaces may be considerably less than views to an outdoor space
Deducciones de I+D+i, enfoque contable y fiscal
Treballs Finals del Màster Oficial de Comptabilitat i Fiscalitat, Facultat d'Economia i Empresa, Universitat de Barcelona. Curs: 2022-2023. Tutor: Jorge Galiana Richart.
Based on the Integration of “Internet + Ideology and Politics”, the Practice of Online and Offline Mixed Teaching Mode of Modern Medical Courses in Traditional Chinese Medicine Majors
The purpose of this paper is to explore how to implement the online and offline mixed teaching mode in the modern medical courses of TCM specialty under the guidance of the concept of “Internet + ideological and political integration”, and to explore its practical experience and remarkable results. With the power of today’s Internet technology, we will organically integrate ideological and political education into the modern medicine course of traditional Chinese medicine, so as to effectively promote the overall cultivation of students’ comprehensive quality, and further enhance the attraction of the course and educational benefits
A Method for the Electromagnetic Characterization of Construction Materials Based on Fabry–Pérot Resonance
The determination of the complex permittivity of low-loss construction materials at frequency bands above 6 GHz that are being proposed to allocate forthcoming mobile radio services is of critical importance for the design and deployment of future wireless systems. In this paper, a simple free-space method for the electromagnetic characterization of construction materials that does not require multiple reflection or transmission coefficient measurements for different incidence angles or complex optimization procedures is proposed and tested. The method is shown to yield permittivity and conductivity values in agreement with the literature for some common-use materials using a relatively simple measurement setup and procedure
Vision-Language Models can Identify Distracted Driver Behavior from Naturalistic Videos
Recognizing the activities, causing distraction, in real-world driving
scenarios is critical for ensuring the safety and reliability of both drivers
and pedestrians on the roadways. Conventional computer vision techniques are
typically data-intensive and require a large volume of annotated training data
to detect and classify various distracted driving behaviors, thereby limiting
their efficiency and scalability. We aim to develop a generalized framework
that showcases robust performance with access to limited or no annotated
training data. Recently, vision-language models have offered large-scale
visual-textual pretraining that can be adapted to task-specific learning like
distracted driving activity recognition. Vision-language pretraining models,
such as CLIP, have shown significant promise in learning natural
language-guided visual representations. This paper proposes a CLIP-based driver
activity recognition approach that identifies driver distraction from
naturalistic driving images and videos. CLIP's vision embedding offers
zero-shot transfer and task-based finetuning, which can classify distracted
activities from driving video data. Our results show that this framework offers
state-of-the-art performance on zero-shot transfer and video-based CLIP for
predicting the driver's state on two public datasets. We propose both
frame-based and video-based frameworks developed on top of the CLIP's visual
representation for distracted driving detection and classification task and
report the results.Comment: 15 pages, 10 figure
An effective tool for predicting survival in breast cancer patients with de novo lung metastasis: Nomograms constructed based on SEER
Background & objectivesAn effective tool for forecasting the survival of BCLM is lacking. This study aims to construct nomograms to predict overall survival (OS) and breast cancer-specific survival (BCSS) in breast cancer patients with de novo lung metastasis, and to help clinicians develop appropriate treatment regimens for breast cancer lung metastasis (BCLM) individuals.MethodsWe gathered clinical data of 2,537 patients with BCLM between 2010 and 2015 from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database. Cox regression analysis was employed to identify independent prognostic parameters for BCLM, which were integrated to establish nomograms by R software. The discriminative ability and predictive accuracy of the nomograms were assessed using the concordance index (C-index), receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves, and calibration plots. Kaplan–Meier analyses were applied to evaluate the clinical utility of the risk stratification system and investigate the survival benefit of primary site surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy for BCLM patients.ResultsTwo nomograms shared common prognostic indicators including age, marital status, race, laterality, grade, AJCC T stage, subtype, bone metastasis, brain metastasis, liver metastasis, surgery, and chemotherapy. The results of the C-index, ROC curves, and calibration curves demonstrated that the nomograms exhibited an outstanding performance in predicting the prognosis of BCLM patients. Significant differences in the Kaplan–Meier curves of various risk groups corroborated the nomograms' excellent stratification. Primary site surgery and chemotherapy remarkably improved OS and BCSS of BCLM patients whether the patients were at low-risk or high-risk, but radiotherapy did not.ConclusionsWe successfully developed prognostic stratification nomograms to forecast prognosis in BCLM patients, which provide important information for indicating prognosis and facilitating individualized treatment regimens for BCLM patients
