Two charged strangeonium-like structures observable in the process
Via the Initial Single Pion Emission (ISPE) mechanism, we study the
invariant mass spectrum distribution of . Our calculation indicates there exist a sharp peak
structure () close to the threshold and a broad
structure () near the threshold. In addition, we
also investigate the process due to
the ISPE mechanism, where a sharp peak around the threshold
appears in the invariant mass spectrum distribution. We
suggest to carry out the search for these charged strangeonium-like structures
in future experiment, especially Belle II, Super-B and BESIII.Comment: 7 pages, 5 figures. Accepted by Eur. Phys. J.
Autoimmune rheumatic diseases : An update on the role of atherogenic electronegative ldl and potential therapeutic strategies
Altres ajuts: Vascular and Medicinal Research Fund, Texas Heart Institute (#765-64050), Houston, TX, USA; Ministry of Science and Technology (Taiwana grant MOST 107-2314-B-039-053-MY3); Ministerio de Sanidad, Spain (co-financed by Fondo Europeo de Desarrollo Regional (FEDER)).Atherosclerosis has been linked with an increased risk of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD). Autoimmune rheumatic diseases (AIRDs) are associated with accelerated atherosclerosis and ASCVD. However, the mechanisms underlying the high ASCVD burden in patients with AIRDs cannot be explained only by conventional risk factors despite disease-specific factors and chronic inflammation. Nevertheless, the normal levels of plasma low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol observed in most patients with AIRDs do not exclude the possibility of increased LDL atherogenicity. By using anion-exchange chromatography, human LDL can be divided into five increasingly electronegative subfractions, L1 to L5, or into electropositive and electronegative counterparts, LDL (+) and LDL (−). Electronegative L5 and LDL (−) have similar chemical composi-tions and can induce adverse inflammatory reactions in vascular cells. Notably, the percentage of L5 or LDL (−) in total LDL is increased in normolipidemic patients with AIRDs. Electronegative L5 and LDL (−) are not recognized by the normal LDL receptor but instead signal through the lectin-like oxidized LDL receptor 1 (LOX-1) to activate inflammasomes involving interleukin 1β (IL-1β). Here, we describe the detailed mechanisms of AIRD-related ASCVD mediated by L5 or LDL (−) and discuss the potential targeting of LOX-1 or IL-1β signaling as new therapeutic modalities for these diseases
Exploiting Evolution for an Adaptive Drift-Robust Classifier in Chemical Sensing
Gas chemical sensors are strongly affected by drift, i.e., changes in sensors' response with time, that may turn statistical models commonly used for classification completely useless after a period of time. This paper presents a new classifier that embeds an adaptive stage able to reduce drift effects. The proposed system exploits a state-of-the-art evolutionary strategy to iteratively tweak the coefficients of a linear transformation able to transparently transform raw measures in order to mitigate the negative effects of the drift. The system operates continuously. The optimal correction strategy is learnt without a-priori models or other hypothesis on the behavior of physical-chemical sensors. Experimental results demonstrate the efficacy of the approach on a real problem
Extremal black holes in the Ho\v{r}ava-Lifshitz gravity
We study the near-horizon geometry of extremal black holes in the
Ho\v{r}ava-Lifshitz gravity with a flow parameter . For ,
near-horizon geometry of extremal black holes are AdS with
different radii, depending on the (modified) Ho\v{r}ava-Lifshitz gravity. For
, the radius of is negative, which means
that the near-horizon geometry is ill-defined and the corresponding
Bekenstein-Hawking entropy is zero. We show explicitly that the entropy
function approach does not work for obtaining the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy of
extremal black holes.Comment: 18 pages, v2:some points on Lifshitz black holes claified, v3:

Effects of coarse-graining on the scaling behavior of long-range correlated and anti-correlated signals
We investigate how various coarse-graining methods affect the scaling
properties of long-range power-law correlated and anti-correlated signals,
quantified by the detrended fluctuation analysis. Specifically, for
coarse-graining in the magnitude of a signal, we consider (i) the Floor, (ii)
the Symmetry and (iii) the Centro-Symmetry coarse-graining methods. We find,
that for anti-correlated signals coarse-graining in the magnitude leads to a
crossover to random behavior at large scales, and that with increasing the
width of the coarse-graining partition interval this crossover moves
to intermediate and small scales. In contrast, the scaling of positively
correlated signals is less affected by the coarse-graining, with no observable
changes when a crossover appears at small
scales and moves to intermediate and large scales with increasing . For
very rough coarse-graining () based on the Floor and Symmetry
methods, the position of the crossover stabilizes, in contrast to the
Centro-Symmetry method where the crossover continuously moves across scales and
leads to a random behavior at all scales, thus indicating a much stronger
effect of the Centro-Symmetry compared to the Floor and the Symmetry methods.
For coarse-graining in time, where data points are averaged in non-overlapping
time windows, we find that the scaling for both anti-correlated and positively
correlated signals is practically preserved. The results of our simulations are
useful for the correct interpretation of the correlation and scaling properties
of symbolic sequences.Comment: 19 pages, 13 figure
Long-distant contribution and radiative decays to light vector meson
The discrepancy between the PQCD calculation and the CLEO data for
() stimulates our interest in
exploring extra mechanism of decay. In this work, we apply an
important non-perturbative QCD effect, i.e., hadronic loop mechanism, to study
radiative decay. Our numerical result shows that the
theoretical results including the hadronic loop contribution and the PQCD
calculation of are consistent with the corresponding
CLEO data of . We expect further experimental
measurement of at BES-III, which will be helpful to
test the hadronic loop effect on decay.Comment: 7 pages, 2 figures. Accepted for publication in Eur. Phys. J.
Anomaly analysis of Hawking radiation from Kaluza-Klein black hole with squashed horizon
Considering gravitational and gauge anomalies at the horizon, a new method
that to derive Hawking radiations from black holes has been developed by
Wilczek et al. In this paper, we apply this method to non-rotating and rotating
Kaluza-Klein black holes with squashed horizon, respectively. For the rotating
case, we found that, after the dimensional reduction, an effective U(1) gauge
field is generated by an angular isometry. The results show that the gauge
current and energy-momentum tensor fluxes are exactly equivalent to Hawking
radiation from the event horizon.Comment: 15 pages, no figures, the improved version, accepted by Eur. Phys. J.
Superconducting properties of RuSr2GdCu2O8 studied by SQUID magnetometry
For polycrystalline RuSr2GdCu2O8 (Ru-1212), distinct peaks have been reported
in d.c. magnetization in the superconducting state of the sample. Sr2GdRuO6
(Sr-2116), the precursor for the preparation of Ru-1212, shows similar peaks in
the same temperature regime. Based on measurements performed on both bulk and
powdered samples of Ru-1212 and Sr-2116, we exclude the possibility, that the
observed behavior of the magnetization of Ru-1212 is due to Sr-2116 impurities.
The effect is related to the superconductivity of Ru-1212, but it is not an
intrinsic property of this compound. We provide evidence that the observation
of magnetization peaks in the superconducting state of Ru-1212 is due to flux
motion generated by the movement of the sample in an inhomogeneous field,
during the measurement in the SQUID magnetometer. We propose several tests,
that help to decide, whether the features observed in a SQUID magnetization
measurement of Ru-1212 represent a property of the compound or not.Comment: 22 pages, 9 figure
Corrections to Hawking-like Radiation for a Friedmann-Robertson-Walker Universe
Recently, a Hamilton-Jacobi method beyond semiclassical approximation in
black hole physics was developed by \emph{Banerjee} and
\emph{Majhi}\cite{beyond0}. In this paper, we generalize their analysis of
black holes to the case of Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) universe. It is
shown that all the higher order quantum corrections in the single particle
action are proportional to the usual semiclassical contribution. The
corrections to the Hawking-like temperature and entropy of apparent horizon for
FRW universe are also obtained. In the corrected entropy, the area law involves
logarithmic area correction together with the standard inverse power of area
term.Comment: 10 pages, no figures, comments are welcome; v2: references added and
