COMPARISON OF KINESIO TAPING AND SPORTS TAPING IN FUNCTIONAL ACTIVITIES FOR COLLEGIATE BASKETBALL PLAYERS: A PILOT STUDY
The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of kinesio taping and sports taping for collegiate basketball players in functional activities. Seventeen collegiate basketball players were recruited in particapitate this study and divided into three groups(Kinesio taping group, sports taping group and control group) in random. The ankle range of motion, plantarflexor muscle strength and endurance, vertical jump, and dynamic balance were measured before and after taping applied. The results was showed significantly increasing in ankle plantar-flexion range for Kinesio taping group(p=.03). There were no remarkable difference in the other measurements. In conclusion, the Kinesio Taping would not restriction the ankle plantar-flexion range. In future, we may recruited more subjects to identify the effect of Kinesio taping in functional activities for collegiate bsketball players
A Shoulder Surfing Resistant Graphical Authentication System
Authentication based on passwords is used largely in applications for computer security and privacy. However, human actions such as choosing bad passwords and inputting passwords in an insecure way are regarded as ”the weakest link” in the authentication chain. Rather than arbitrary alphanumeric strings, users tend to choose passwords either short or meaningful for easy memorization. With web applications and mobile apps piling up, people can access these applications anytime and anywhere with various devices. This evolution brings great convenience but also increases the probability of exposing passwords to shoulder surfing attacks. Attackers can observe directly or use external recording devices to collect users’ credentials. To overcome this problem, we proposed a novel authentication system PassMatrix, based on graphical passwords to resist shoulder surfing attacks. With a one-time valid login indicator and circulative horizontal and vertical bars covering the entire scope of pass-images, PassMatrix offers no hint for attackers to figure out or narrow down the password even they conduct multiple camera-based attacks. We also implemented a PassMatrix prototype on Android and carried out real user experiments to evaluate its memorability and usability. From the experimental result, the proposed system achieves better resistance to shoulder surfing attacks while maintaining usability
THE VARIATION OF DOMINANT ELBOW RANGE OF MOTION AMONG DIFFERENT MATURE STAGE FOR BASEBALL PITCHERS
The purpose of this study was to examine the variation of elbow range of motion (ROM) in the dominant arm between different maturity levels in baseball pitchers. Sixty-two pitchers, including 17 early-puberty players, 22 later-puberty players, and 23 adult players, participated in this study. A goniometer was used to assess elbow ROM in the dominant arms, including elbow flexion, hyper-extension, supination, pronation and valgus angles. The results showed that smaller ROM was found in elbow flexion, supination, and pronation, and larger ROM in elbow valgue, in pithers of later puberty level (

On the Implications of Sense of Control over Bicycling : Design of a Physical Stamina-Aware Bike
Bicycling has become a mainstream activity among the
environmental aware generation. Bicycling communities
have gradually shown interests in quantitative data of the
bicycling experiences such as road roughness, inclination,
pollution, etc. Bikers utilize these data to infer the
possible stamina cost and quality of surroundings. This
supports them to make a better decision. This study
assumes that fitness level indexed by stamina cost could
enhance a biker's sense of control. The prototype in this
paper was developed to provide stamina cost information,
which is inferred from the terrain patterns of a biking
route. In the system evaluation, participants took a
positive attitude toward this prototype and approved the
importance of stamina cost feedback. This paper also
concluded several key issues about designing the stamina
cost feedback system for bikers
