    La intervenci贸n social para afrontar el maltrato infantil en el cant贸n Portoviejo, se considera esencial por ello, esta investigaci贸n propone como objetivo analizar la intervenci贸n que realiza el Trabajador Social ante el maltrato infantil en el cant贸n Portoviejo. Situaci贸n que puede considerarse como un reto personal que asume este profesional, en el momento de tratar con los ni帽os se debe de manejar un proceso t茅cnico-confidencial para proteger derechos hacia el menor. El art铆culo est谩 basado en una investigaci贸n de tipo descriptiva-anal铆tica se apoy贸 con un enfoque cuantitativo, se realizado en el cant贸n Portoviejo, donde se cont贸 con los profesionales de Trabajo Social, se fundament贸 en las teor铆as e investigaciones acerca del tema; en la recopilaci贸n de datos se realiz贸 por medio de herramientas virtuales con la utilizaci贸n de la t茅cnica encuesta cuyo instrumento fue la gu铆a de preguntas que se aplic贸 por medio del internet utilizando google forms, aplicado a los profesionales objeto de estudio. Los resultados evidencian que la ruta o el protocolo que es utilizado frecuentemente por el trabajador social es para proteger la integridad del menor, trabajando con la familia y redes de apoyo, a modo de conclusi贸n se constatar la necesidad del profesional en Trabajo Social en casos de violencia pues este realiza el acompa帽amiento respectivo en el proceso de intervenci贸n, destacando como principal eje, la protecci贸n y restituci贸n del menor en contextos adecuados lo que se puede determinar como positivo por parte de instituciones que buscan determinados objetivos en relaci贸n a casos de maltrato y violencia infantil. Social intervention to deal with child abuse in the canton of Portoviejo is considered essential; therefore, the objective of this research is to analyze the intervention carried out by the social worker to deal with child abuse in the canton of Portoviejo. This situation can be considered as a personal challenge that this professional assumes, at the moment of dealing with children, a technical-confidential process must be managed to protect the rights of the minor. The article is based on a descriptive-analytical type of research supported with a quantitative approach, it was carried out in the canton of Portoviejo, where there were professionals of Social Work, it was based on the theories and research on the subject; in the data collection was done through virtual tools with the use of the survey technique whose instrument was the guide of questions that was applied through the internet using google forms, applied to the professionals under study. The results show that the route or protocol that is frequently used by the social worker is to protect the integrity of the child, working with the family and support networks, by way of conclusion, the need for the Social Work professional in cases of violence is confirmed, since he/she carries out the respective accompaniment in the intervention process, highlighting as the main axis, the protection, and restitution of the child in the adequate contexts, which can be determined as positive by institutions that seek certain objectives in relation to cases of child abuse and violence.&nbsp
