Mapping of non-central potentials under point canonical transformations
Motivated by the observation that all known exactly solvable shape invariant
central potentials are inter-related via point canonical transformations, we
develop an algebraic framework to show that a similar mapping procedure is also
exist between a class of non-central potentials. As an illustrative example, we
discuss the inter-relation between the generalized Coulomb and oscillator
systems.Comment: 11 pages article in LaTEX (uses standard article.sty). Please check

Indigenous traditional knowledge (ITK) from forest dwellers of Gondia district, Maharashtra
Indians have great knowledge of phytomedicines. This valuable knowledge has been conserved in the living folk traditions in ethnic communities. An attempt has been made to explore traditional medicinal knowledge of plant materials, available in forest villages of Goregaon and Deori forest range of Gondia district, Maharashtra state. Gondia is one of the prominently categorized districts with maximum tribal population in Maharashtra which includes mostly Gond, Gowari, Halbi, Manah tribes with great numbers. In this study we documented about 49 plant species of various families which are commonly used by the tribal people to cure some common diseases viz. Dysentery, acute headache, toothache and carries, urinary troubles, skin diseases, antidote against snake bite, vomiting and many more. Ethnobotanical information were gathered through several visits, group discussions and cross checked with traditional medical practitioner of the study area
Transverse Momentum Distribution and Elliptic Flow of Charged Hadrons in + collisions at GeV using HYDJET++
Recent experimental observations of the charged hadron properties in
collisions at GeV contradict many of the theoretical models of particle
production including two-component Monte Carlo Glauber model. The experimental
results show a small correlation between the charged hadron properties and the
initial geometrical configurations (e.g. body-body, tip-tip etc.) of
collisions. In this article, we have modified the Monte Carlo HYDJET++ model to
study the charged hadron production in collisions at GeV
center-of-mass energy in tip-tip and body-body initial configurations. We have
modified the hard as well as soft production processes to make this model
suitable for collisions. We have calculated the pseudorapidity
distribution, transverse momentum distribution and elliptic flow distribution
of charged hadrons with different control parameters in various geometrical
configurations possible for collision. We find that HYDJET++ model
supports a small correlation between the various properties of charged hadrons
and the initial geometrical configurations of collision. Further, the
results obtained in modified HYDJET++ model regarding and
elliptic flow () suitably matches with the experimental data of
collisions in minimum bias configuration.Comment: 29 pages, 25 figures. Accepted for Publication in EPJ
QUASI-CONFORMAL CURVATURE TENSOR OF GENERALIZED SASAKIAN-SPACE-FORMS
The present paper deals the study of generalised Sasakian-space-forms with the conditions Cq(ξ,X).S = 0, Cq(ξ,X).R = 0 and Cq(ξ,X).Cq = 0, where R, S and Cq denote Riemannian curvature tensor, Ricci tensor and quasi-conformal curvature tensor of the space-form, respectively and at last, we have given some examples to improve our results
Phytoplankton Fluctuatuations under the Stress of Abiotic Factors at Kohargaddi Dam, Balrampur, India
ABSTRACT: In this investigation, water samples were collected in different seasons such as rainy, winter and summer from Kohargaddi dam. Then phytoplankton diversity was studied in relation to same physico-chemical parameters. Total 18 species of phytoplankton were identified belonging Cyanophyceae, Chlorophyceae, Bacillariophyceae and Euglenophyceae. Cyanophyceae includes Nostoc sp., Oscillatoria sp., Anabaena sp., Microcystic sp., Gleocapsa sp., Spirulina sp., while Chlorophyceae includes Ulothrix sp., Chlorella sp., Spirogyra sp., Hydrodictyon sp., Pediastrum sp., Besides these, Bacillariophyceae includes Cyclotella sp., Navicula sp., Diatom sp., Synedra ulna and Euglenophyceae includes Euglena sp., Trachelomonas sp., Volvocinia sp. During phytoplankton analysis, Chlorophyceae group contributed maximum phytoplankton density followed by Cyanophyceae, Bacillariophyceae, Euglenophyceae respectively. The study reveals that plankton population is dependent upon quality of water and climatic factors.                                              Key words: Physico-chemical parameters, Water quality, Phytoplanktons, Kohargaddi dam  Environmental Biology lab. A comparative study of therestorative effects of Ocimum gratissimum and Ocimum canum on alcohol induced hepatotoxicity in albino rats
Many species of Ocimum possess anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and anti-microbial properties and the plants are widely used in Ayurveda. The oxidative stress induced by ethanol consumption had been implicated the changes in the structure and functions of liver cells especially the membrane phospholipids leading to lipid peroxidation. This study was to assess the curative potential of the methanol extract of two different species of Ocimum, O. canum and O. gratissimum on alcohol induced hepatotoxicity in albino rats. Male Wister rats of body weight 200-250 g, were divided into 6 groups of six rats each as (1) NC - normal control with normal diet (2) EC - alcohol control fed on alcohol for thirty days; (3) EX -1 MEOG (methanol extract of Ocimum gratissimum) only to check the toxicity of the extract, (4) EX - 2 MEOC (methanol extract of Ocimum canum) only to check whether the extract had any toxic effect of its own and (5) EX - 3 MEOG after treating with ethanol for thirty days and confirming the hepatotoxicity, and (6) EX - 4 MEOC after the ethanol treatment. The rats were sacrificed after 30 days, and the blood collected for biochemical estimations. The results indicated that there were significant difference between the experimental rats (EX-groups) when compared with alcohol control (ECgroup) in all the parameters checked and they were not significantly different from the normal control (NC-group). The curative effect was established in groups 5 and 6, which showed a significant difference in antioxidant levels of all the parameters checked and retrieved its antioxidant status almost to the normal control. To come to the absolute normal condition of antioxidant levels it might have been needed a prolonged treatment for a longer period. Again, the groups, treated with extracts only, did not show any negative effect, which clearly indicated that the extract had no toxic effects. The use of antioxidant is an important preventive and curative method to minimize the pathological and toxic effects of oxidative stress induced by ethanol toxicity. Thus from the result obtained we conclude that MEOG and MEOC could effectively restore the antioxidant system from the oxidative stress induced by ethanol toxicity. In addition, there were no significant differences between the curative effects of these two species of Ocimum in terms of their effect on oxidative stress induced by ethanol toxicity
