Abstract We study the Cauchy problem for the (2+1)(2+1) -dimensional relativistic abelian Chern-Simons-Higgs model. Given finite energy data, we prove the global existence and uniqueness of the solutions

The Effects of Crop Generic Resources and Biodiversity on Agricultural Production: An Empirical Study on Rice Farming

This paper has investigated the effects of crop biodiversity on the mean and the variance of yield in rice production. It used panel data from 22 research stations of Rural Development Administration in Korea during 1997-2004. We found evidence that yield risk is positively related with crop biodiversity measured as a Herfindahl concentration index of varietal diversity. In other words, crop biodiversity is found to be a risk-decreasing input

Development on the Technology for Offshore Waste Final Disposal in S. Korea

    No full text
The purpose of this research is to develop technology for offshore waste final disposal. The research results include many core element parts such as establishment of master plan on infrastructure development for offshore waste disposal landfill; the establishment of legal system and code and standard or guidelines related to the offshore waste final disposal; the development of construction technologies of modular revetment structure and performance-enhancing technology for containment system; supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system for offshore final disposal facility and soil/water quality improvement techniques in offshore disposal facility. Some other contributions are expected to collaborate includes: legal and institutional infrastructure construction to create the marine space projects based on the offshore final disposal facility. Additionally, in this paper, the securement of related element technology for environmental-friendly offshore waste disposal facility was discussed. At the same time, new marine industry and related jobs through the development of business model were created.N

Existence of mixed type solutions in the Chern-Simons gauge theory of rank two in R-2

    No full text
We consider the self-dual equations arising from the Chem Simons gauge theory of rank 2 such as the SU(3), SO(5), and G2 Chern-Simons model in R-2. There are three possible types of solutions in these theories, namely, topological, nontopological, and mixed type solutions. The existence of a mixed type solution for an arbitrary configuration of vortex points has been a long-standing open problem. We construct here a family of mixed type solutions (u(1),(epsilon),u(2),(epsilon)), epsilon > 0 for an arbitrary configuration of vortex points under a mild non-degeneracy condition. The main new idea of our construction of an approximate solution is to use different scalings for different components. In the process of the finite dimensional reduction, all estimates for this particular construction become rather delicate. (C) 2017 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved
