Physiological and Molecular Changes in Various Biological Organisms Cultured under Simulated Microgravity Conditions

Microgravity is one of the most import factors in space flight where its impact on living biological organisms is concerned. Many different ailments have been reported in astronauts such as spaceflight related osteopenia, cardiovascular concerns, and loss of eye sight. In order to understand why g causes these issues we must understand what is happening at the most basic of biological structures, the cell. The work done in this report is a culmination of contributions made to a much larger project. The project seeks to understand how cellular physiology is changing in SMG conditions and use this knowledge to feed into a follow-up study on the genetic changes that are seen in SMG environments. Cells were imaged using confocal microscopy after 20hrs and 48hrs in a 3D clinostat called the Gravite. Lengths, widths, heights, and total cell areas were measured using an image analysis software package ImageJ. There were significant differences in lengths and widths of cell nuclei, and total area of cell coverage. The report then discusses some of the problems with the testing apparatus and how 3D printing technology may be used to create better sample holders for the 3D clinostat

KAJIAN YURIDIS TERHADAP PENANGGULANGAN CYBERPORN DALAM PERSPEKTIF HUKUM PIDANA DI INDONESIA

Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana penanggulangan cyberporn dalam Hukum Pidana Indonesia dan apa yang menjadi kendala dalam menanggulangi Tindak Pidana Pornografi, di mana dengan menggunakan metode penelitian hukum normarif disimpulkan: 1. Bahwa pemerintah Republik Indonesia telah sangat sering untuk menanggulangi tindak pidana pornografi terbukti dalam perkembangan pengaturan ketentuan pidana seperti yang diatur dalam KUHP, Undang-Undang No. 44 Tahun 2008 tentang Pornografi serta Undang-Undang No. 11 Tahun 2008 juncto perubahannya yakni Undang-Undang No. 19 Tahun 2016. 2. Kendala dalam penanggulangan tindak pidana pornografi karena kurangnya sumber daya manusia yang memiliki kemampuan di bidang ITE serta kurangnya sarana prasarana beserta anggaran yang tersedia.Kata kunci: cyberporn; pidan

A Quantitative Examination of Emotional Intelligence among Primary and Secondary School Principals in the Guam Department of Education

This quantitative study aims to evaluate the Guam Department of Education (GDOE) primary and secondary school principals’ emotional intelligence in Guam to inform emotional intelligence-based professional development training. The significance of the study is it establishes an emotional intelligence baseline for GDOE and yields contextual data to help create emotional intelligence-based professional development for GDOE school principals. The study is a non-experimental, correlational quantitative research design with a proposed sample size of 84 GDOE school principals, consisting of two populations: GDOE primary (42) and secondary school principals (42). From the sample pool of 84 school principals, 45 school participants met full participation status. The instruments employed are the Emotional Intelligence Inventory (EQ-i) 2.0 and the Professional Development Survey, with a two-week data collection period via online medium. The data analysis techniques for the study’s research questions are the independent sample t-test and linear regression. Results indicate there is no statistical significance difference between GDOE primary and secondary school principals’ overall emotional intelligence and their five emotional intelligence composite scores; however, it shows a statistical significance between GDOE’s primary and secondary school principals’ overall emotional intelligence and their need for professional development. Recommendations for future research are (1) extend sample populations to private school principals, (2) extend sample populations to the school’s teacher and staff populations, (3) put a higher emphasis on leadership effectiveness in emotional intelligence studies, and (4) integrate qualitative research methodology

Pengenalan Pola Tanda Tangan Menggunakan Metode Support Vector Machnie

Pengenalan pola merupakan kemampuan manusia mengenali objek-objek berdasarkan ciri-ciri dan pengetahuan yang pernah diamatinya dari objek-objek tersebut. Object penelitian ini menyajikan pengenalan pola tanda tangan menggunakan  support vector machine (SVM)  pada 100 contoh tanda-tangan. Menggunakan ekstraksi ciri vertical splitting, horizontal splitting untuk mendapatkan nilai sudut dan nilai jarak sebagai ciri dari tanda tangan yang selanjutnya akan di proses pelatihan. Pelatihan pada penelitian ini menggunakan  klasifikasi SVM .Support Vector Machine  dengan metode pembelajaran satu lawan satu ( one against one)  yang digunakan terdiri dari 100 input. Pada pengujian ada 2 proses yang dilakukan yaitu menguji dengan citra tanda tangan  asli  yang sudah dilakukan pelatihan disimpan didalam  data base. Serta  citra  tanda tangan tidak ada dilakukan proses pelatihan. Pada pengujian tanda tangan asli  SVM  ini   memiliki akurasi dalam memverifikasi sebesar 94.5% . sedangkan tanda tangan yang tidak dilakukan pelatihan SVM  dapat mmgverifikasi tandatangan dengan tingkat  akurasi 48%.   &nbsp
