The formation of agricultural stock has the important paper of softening the seasonal impacts, lessening the discrepancy among the prices in the harvest and time between harvests, contributing, like this, with the stabilization of the price. In that sense, the present article aimed at to analyze the financial viability in the Arabic stockpiling of coffee in the area of Viçosa -MG, being obtained for that the return and the stockpiling risk for every month of the year. In agreement with the results, the stockpiling of the coffee is a strategy financially viable, being a factor in the elevation of the return and decrease of the risk level, especially in what he/she concerns the stockpiling in the period of 8, 9 and 10 months and the sale of the coffee in January, February and March, respectively.Coffee, return, risk., Crop Production/Industries,

The impact of online reviews on consumer evaluations and decision making: an analysis of review volume and user-generated photos

This thesis investigates the impact of online social influence on consumer behaviour, specifically within the context of online reviews. It examines how review volume and user-generated photos affect consumer evaluations and decision-making. In Chapter 2, I introduce a novel phenomenon, the N-effect, which explores how opinion volume influences the content of online evaluations. I find that as the number of opinions increases, the content becomes more emotional and less analytical. In Chapter 3, I investigate the role of user-generated photos in shaping purchase intentions. This research demonstrates that photos can enhance review helpfulness, even when they lack diagnostic information. This effect is driven by the confidence signalled by the reviewer when posting a review with a photo, which is later assimilated by readers, leading to increased perceived helpfulness and purchase likelihood. This thesis makes several theoretical and practical contributions to the literature on human interaction with technology. Theoretically, it expands our understanding of online social influence by examining the dynamics of online opinion expression and content. I contribute to the literature on group size by demonstrating how responsibility may be lost in online contexts. Furthermore, the findings provide insights into the social influence of photos on viewers and the role of pseudo-evidence in shaping beliefs and attitudes. From a practical standpoint, this research offers valuable insights for online platform managers and marketers on interpreting and using consumer-written reviews. Overall, this thesis contributes to the existing literature on online social influence and provides insights for businesses to improve communication and interpretation with consumers by better understanding and leveraging online reviews and opinions.Open Acces

    In this paper, we study the random dynamical system fωnf_\omega^n generated by a family of maps {fω0:S1S1}ω[ε,ε],\{f_{\omega_0}: \mathbb S^1 \to \mathbb S^1\}_{\omega \in [-\varepsilon,\varepsilon]}, $f_{\omega_0}(x) = \alpha \xi (x+\omega_0) +a\ (\mathrm{mod }\ 1),where where \xi: \mathbb S^1 \to \mathbb Risanondegeneratedmap, is a non-degenerated map, a\in \mathbb S^1,, \alpha,\varepsilon>0.Fixingaconstant. Integrated transcriptomics establish macrophage polarization signatures and have potential applications for clinical health and disease

Growing evidence defines macrophages (Mφ) as plastic cells with wide-ranging states of activation and expression of different markers that are time and location dependent. Distinct from the simple M1/M2 dichotomy initially proposed, extensive diversity of macrophage phenotypes have been extensively demonstrated as characteristic features of monocyte-macrophage differentiation, highlighting the difficulty of defining complex profiles by a limited number of genes. Since the description of macrophage activation is currently contentious and confusing, the generation of a simple and reliable framework to categorize major Mφ phenotypes in the context of complex clinical conditions would be extremely relevant to unravel different roles played by these cells in pathophysiological scenarios. In the current study, we integrated transcriptome data using bioinformatics tools to generate two macrophage molecular signatures. We validated our signatures in in vitro experiments and in clinical samples. More importantly, we were able to attribute prognostic and predictive values to components of our signatures. Our study provides a framework to guide the interrogation of macrophage phenotypes in the context of health and disease. The approach described here could be used to propose new biomarkers for diagnosis in diverse clinical settings including dengue infections, asthma and sepsis resolution

THE CONSTITUTIONALISATION OF THE FUNDAMENTAL CIVIL RIGHTS AND CHALLENGES OF ITS EFFECTIVENESS: CONSIDERATIONS ON THE MORAL INTERPRETATION OF THE CONSTITUTION

We seek to develop in this work a critical approach about the Constitutionalisation phenomenon of Fundamental Rights nowadays, seeking to understand the challenges surrounding this issue, especially with regard to changes and disruptions promoted by irradiation of constitutional values to the whole legal system.Proposal innovative and with great powers of seduction, especially the possibility of realizing substantial justice and significant progress for social inclusion, we have seen emerge and radiate the expansive effect that the constitutional requirements have acquired, especially in the last 50 years in the face of Constitutionalisation of Fundamental Rights. The force from the Constitution focused mainly on the material and axiological content of constitutional norms, which have to condition the validity and meaning of all the infra-constitutional norms, projecting into the legal system, and in this perspective, moving away than traditionally was known until now as Supremacy of the Constitution, as Kelsen model. On the other hand, we observed that Constitutionalisation of Fundamental Rights significantly approached the contemporary Philosophy, building through constitutional hermeneutics a proposal for rapprochement between law and morals, making mandatory the embodiment of moral content arranged on Fundamental Rights. Thus, we saw the affirmation of a new constitutional interpretation, taking as its starting point the specificity of the Constitution, to present constitutional values with legal force and legal effect. Depending on this new approach, there would be a counterpoint between the "real constitution" (written text of constitutional norms) and the "ideal constitution," playing the first by irradiation values derived from the second.            The legitimating justification for that would be the search for substantial justice to move towards a more appropriate decision, able to promote the necessary social inclusion. However, if it is real the possibility of progress on the path of material justice, and social inclusion, some considerations must be made regarding the impact of anti-positivist thesis in the Constitutionalisation of Fundamental Rights, including: the issue of legal certainty; the formulation of any particularistic and authoritarian decisions; apart from the difficulty of building a moral thesis by the judiciary, able to contemplate the diversity of Justice concepts in an extremely fragmented contemporary society.            These considerations, and others discussed in this text, were the object of our investigations in this work, always with a view to achieve the limit of these theoretical formulations and the risks of a judicial activity extremely subjective and with wide discretion. Our goal in this opportunity was so only promote the necessary reflections from a theoretical point of view, without performing case studies, which will certainly be focused later
