Apuntes sobre el mito de los Abencerrajes y sus versiones literarias

The legendary beheading of the Abencerrajes acquires a mythical character in Christian Granada, and the theme appears in many texts of the Golden Age. The unjust sentencing is commonly attributed to the last Nazarí monarch, this being viewed as the cause of the loss of the kingdom. The connection of the event to the Alhambra is underscored by the folkloric motif of the indelible bloodstain, which is rooted in oral tradition. This paper deals with a thoroughly scholarly study about the two books comprising the work of Ginés Pérez de Hita, Guerras Civiles de Granada. An analysis of literary and historical elements is provided, as well as stylistic insight to show the elements characterizing the text by author emblematic for the history of the Kindonm of Granada.Este artículo es un comentario acerca de los dos libros que conforman las Guerras Civiles de Granada pleno de sugerentes análisis de carácter literario, estilístico e histórico que brindan una propuesta más de acercamiento a la figura de Ginés Pérez de Hita, encuadrado dentro de un contexto de evidente y continuada vigencia en la historiografía del Reino de Granada
