They are willing to invest heavily in Data and Artificial Intelligence Strategy and build enterprise data platforms that will enable this Market-Oriented vision.     Application of an opinion consensus aggregation model based on OWA operators to the recommendation of tourist sites

    Given the growth in tourism online data as a result of a large number of users posting their personal opinions in social networks and other online platforms with the idea to help other visitants, many authors have proposed a huge variety of ways to classify the sentiments contained in these opinions in order to recommend services (hotels, restaurants, etc.) and destinations to the users with the intention of facilitating their trip planning.     Leveraging Users’ Trust and Reputation in Social Networks

    In on line communities, where there is a huge number of users that interact under anonymous identities, it has been observed that e-word of mouth is a very powerful influence tool. So far, this technology is well known in on-line marketplaces, such as Amazon, eBay or travel based platforms like Tripadvisor or Booking. However, these trust based approach can be leverage in other scenarios from e-democracy to trust based recommendations on e-health context and e-learning systems.     A Fuzzy Linguistic RFM Model Applied to Campaign Management

    In the literature there are some proposals for integrated schemes for campaign management based on segmentation from the results of the RFM model. RFM is a technique used to analyze customer behavior by means of three variables: Recency, Frequency and Monetary value. It is s very much in use in the business world due to its simplicity of use, implementation and interpretability of its results. However, RFM applications to campaign management present known limitations like the lack of precision because the scores of these variables are expressed by an ordinal scale. In this paper, we propose to link customer segmentation methods with campaign activities in a more effective way incorporating the 2–tuple model both to the RFM calculation process and to its subsequent exploitation by means of segmentation algorithms, specifically, k-means. This yields a greater interpretability of these results and also allows computing these values without loss of information. Therefore, marketers can effectively develop more effective marketing strategy

The complex processes accomplished by living systems continuously demand the assistance of non-covalent interactions between molecular building blocks. Additionally, these building blocks (proteins, membranes, nucleotides) are also constituted by self-assembled structures. Therefore, supramolecular chemistry is the discipline required to understand the properties of the minimal self-assembled building blocks of living systems and to develop new functional smart materials. In the first part of this feature article, we highlight selected examples of the preparation of supramolecular membrane transporters with special emphasis in the application of dynamic covalent bonds. In the second section of the paper we review recent breakthroughs in the preparation of peptide nanotubes hybrids with functional applications.     A Linguistic Multi-Criteria Decision Making Model Applied to the Integration of Education Questionnaires

    We present a model made up of linguistic multi-criteria decision making processes to integrate the answers to heterogeneous questionnaires, based on a five-point Likert scale, into a unique form rooted in the widespread course experience questionnaire. The main advantage of having the resulting integrated questionnaire is that it can be incorporated into other course experience questionnaire surveys to make benchmarking among organizations. These BMNPs present several advantages over inorganic magnetic nanoparticles, such as larger sizes that allow the former to have larger magnetic moment per particle, and an isoelectric point at acidic pH values, which allows both the stable functionalization of BMNPs at physiological pH value and the molecule release at acidic (tumor) environments, simply based on electrostatic interactions. However, difficulties for BMNPs cell internalization still hold back the efficiency of these nanoparticles as drug nanocarriers and hyperthermia agents. In the present study we explore the enhanced BMNPs internalization following upon their encapsulation by poly (lactic-co-glycolic) acid (PLGA), a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved molecule. Internalization is further optimized by the functionalization of the nanoformulation with the cell-penetrating TAT peptide (TATp). Our results evidence that cells treated with the nanoformulation [TAT-PLGA(BMNPs)] show up to 80% more iron internalized (after 72 h) compared to that of cells treated with BMNPs (40%), without any significant decrease in cell viability. This nanoformulation showing optimal internalization is further characterized. In particular, the present manuscript demonstrates that neither its magnetic properties nor its performance as a hyperthermia agent are significantly altered due to the encapsulation. In vitro experiments demonstrate that, following upon the application of an alternating magnetic field on U87MG cells treated with BMNPs and TAT-PLGA(BMNPs), the cytotoxic effect of BMNPs was not affected by the TAT-PLGA enveloping.     Synergistic Photothermal-Chemotherapy Based on the Use of Biomimetic Magnetic Nanoparticles

    MamC-mediated biomimetic magnetic nanoparticles (BMNPs) have emerged as one of the most promising nanomaterials due to their magnetic features (superparamagnetic character and large magnetic moment per particle), their novel surface properties determined by MamC, their biocompatibility and their ability as magnetic hyperthermia agents. However, the current clinical application of magnetic hyperthermia is limited due to the fact that, in order to be able to reach an effective temperature at the target site, relatively high nanoparticle concentration, as well as high magnetic field strength and/or AC frequency are needed. In the present study, the potential of BMNPs to increase the temperature upon irradiation of a laser beam in the near infrared, at a wavelength at which tissues become partially transparent, is explored. Moreover, our results also demonstrate the synergy between photothermia and chemotherapy in terms of drug release and cytotoxicity, by using BMNPs functionalized with doxorubicin, and the effectiveness of this combination therapy against tumor cells in in vitro experiments.
