Knowledge multipliers: Role of extension actions with caregivers of people with disabilities
Abstract: For the university extension to occur, it is necessary to establish a target population to which extension actions will be directed. However, these actions tend to spread beyond the community by forming knowledge multipliers in the served population. This study aimed to report the experience of the contribution of extension actions beyond the target audience when working on health-related topics such as the use of medicinal plants and teas and Systemic Arterial Hypertension with caregivers of People with Disabilities (PwD). This extension project worked with fifteen caregivers of PwD based on themes suggested by them. In the medicinal plants and teas activity, the methodologies used were the box of myths and truths, conversation wheel, bingo game, and distribution of folders. For the activity on hypertension, we used "brainstorm," blood pressure measurement, and distribution of folders. These actions were carried out in 3 meetings between March and May 2019. As a result, 11 to 16 caregivers (one casual) and 2 to 3 employees from the partner institution participate in the meetings. It was observed that the active methodologies used were important for learning and fixing the contents addressed, according to the words of the caregivers themselves. The actions allowed the caregivers to share what they learned, taking this knowledge to friends and family, as well as the employees of the partner institution who participated, characterizing the contribution of the project beyond the target audience.

Topics of physiology in promoting the well-being of people with disabilities caregivers
Abstract: Family caregivers of people with disabilities (PwD) often abdicate their well-being due to the necessary care of their entity. Thus, this study aimed to work on sleep and digestive system physiology with PwD caregivers whom follow-up on the Rehabilitation Center of Porto Alegre (Brazil) linked to the university extension project called "Supporting and educating families of people with disabilities," stimulating the well-being of these women. As methodologies for studying physiology with caregivers, we used conversation wheels, the EPWORTH Sleepiness Scale, anatomical molds of the digestive system, and intestinal constipation questionnaire in two 90-minute meetings. Nine caregivers participated in sleep physiology activities, and it was observed that 66.6% of respondents should take better care of their sleep or had an inadequate sleep. Regarding the physiology of the digestive system, 11 caregivers participated in the activities, and 20% were considered constipated. The study of sleep and digestive system physiology allowed caregivers to think about self-care, improving their well-being, and helped the extensionists to put the University's knowledge into practice.

This paper aims to analyze the effects of the social value orientation and the social interdependence on the Budgetary slack. Budgetary slack is a subject very studied by international researchers as a dysfunctional budget problem, however until now, with no clear conclusion about your causes. Assuming that this subject impacts organization process of planning, results and competitiveness, this paper intend to contribute to budgetary slack knowledge based on social theories of social value and interdependence and slack theory, originated in the economics, most specifically, in the agency theory. It was applied a questionnaire, a budget experiment and an instrument to measure social value orientation among 41 leaders oh Tower International Company. According to statistic analysis, it was not possible to validate the hypothesis of this research, but considering the theories used on that, It is clear that there is a vast potential on the search of best practices in the management accounting area

Flexible budgeting influence on organizational inertia and flexibility
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate how the use of flexible budgets may influence different institutional logics (organizational inertia and flexibility). Design/methodology/approach A qualitative research based on a single case study in a multinational subsidiary company was carried out. The data were mainly collected using the dialog technique through open-ended and semi-structured interviews and complemented with direct observation in informal and formal meetings and the analysis of internal documents. Content analysis was used for the analysis of the findings. Findings The use of flexible budgets, which isolates the negative variations due to the decrease in sales volume, may contribute to organizational inertia. However, this can be counterbalanced if the managers try to minimize the decline in performance through initiatives that promote organizational flexibility. In this case study, it was found that the alignment between the production director and the controller, who frequently work under different institutional logics, was important to stimulate organizational flexibility particularly in continuous improvement projects. Research limitations/implications The findings of this paper are based on only one in-depth case study. Hence, the results cannot be generalized, but a theoretical contribution can be made. Furthermore, the findings are constrained by the constructs used and the specific managerial and theoretical perspectives that have supported the analysis. Practical implications These results can be useful particularly for companies that are dealing with the abrupt drop in the sales volume and use the flexible budget as a performance assessment technique. These firms must pay attention because this combination can stimulate organizational inertia. To counteract this problem, it is necessary that controllers and the managers work by understanding the initiatives that promote organizational flexibility, mainly by Kaizen projects, which can minimize performance decline. Extensive analysis of the cytoplasmic proteome of human erythrocytes using the Peptide ligand library technology and advanced mass spectrometry
The erythrocyte cytoplasmic proteome is composed of 98% hemoglobin; the remaining 2% is largely unexplored. Here we used a combinatorial library of hexameric peptides as a capturing agent to lower the signal of hemoglobin and amplify the signal of low to very low abundance proteins in the cytoplasm of human red blood cells (RBCs). Two types of hexapeptide library beads have been adopted: amino-terminal hexapeptide beads and beads in which the peptides have been further derivatized by carboxylation. The amplification of the signal of low abundance and suppression of the signal of high abundance species were fully demonstrated by two-dimensional gel maps and nano-LC-MSMS analysis. The effect of this new methodology on quantitative information also was explored. Moreover using this approach on an LTQ-Orbitrap mass spectrometer, we could identify with high confidence as many as 1578 proteins in the cytoplasmic fraction of a highly purified preparation of RBCs, allowing a deep exploration of the classical RBC pathways as well as the identification of unexpected minor proteins. In addition, we were able to detect the presence of eight different hemoglobin chains including embryonic and newly discovered globin chains. Thus, this extensive study provides a huge data set of proteins that are present in the RBC cytoplasm that may help to better understand the biology of this simplified cell and may open the way to further studies on blood pathologies using targeted approache
