Characterization of dual mixed volumes via polymeasures
We prove a characterization of the dual mixed volume in terms of functional
properties of the polynomial associated to it. To do this, we use tools from
the theory of multilinear operators on spaces of continuos functions. Along the
way we reprove, with these same techniques, a recently found characterization
of the dual mixed volume
Euclidean distance between Haar orthogonal and gaussian matrices
In this work we study a version of the general question of how well a Haar
distributed orthogonal matrix can be approximated by a random gaussian matrix.
Here, we consider a gaussian random matrix of order and apply to it
the Gram-Schmidt orthonormalization procedure by columns to obtain a Haar
distributed orthogonal matrix . If denotes the vector formed by
the first -coordinates of the th row of and
, our main result shows that the euclidean norm of
converges exponentially fast to , up to negligible terms.
To show the extent of this result, we use it to study the convergence of the
supremum norm and we find a coupling that improves by a factor
the recently proved best known upper bound of . Applications of
our results to Quantum Information Theory are also explained.Comment: v2: minor modifications to match journal version, 26 pages, 0

The voice of the instruments in the hands of minstrels. The profane and the religious in medieval imago musicae coexist and alternate with the naturalness prescribed by the rhetoric and sermons of the time: on the one hand, there is the balance and harmony of the purest Bothian essence, and on the other hand, the imbalance and transgression in the message of the music transmitted by the minstrels. The Church has never ceased to condemn those practices in the churches and in the street, or the intrusion of the profane into the liturgy, though -as is stressed by S. Moralejo- both the curiositas and the fascination raised by the transgression of Musica instrumentalis were also worthy of having their catechism in stone. The minstrels in the refectory of the Gelmírez Palace (13th century) provide a good model to study and exemplify those interferences of moral levels as well as its realistic and symbolic contents
Geodesic Structure of the Schwarzschild Black Hole in Rainbow Gravity
In this paper we study the geodesic structure of the Schwarzschild black hole
in rainbow gravity analyzing the behavior of null and time-like geodesic. We
find that the structure of the geodesics essentially does not change when the
semi-classical effects are included. However, we can distinguish different
scenarios if we take into account the effects of rainbow gravity. Depending on
the type of rainbow functions under consideration, inertial and external
observers see very different situations in radial and non radial motion of a
test particles.Comment: Version to match the accepted one in MPL
