This essay analyses the individual’s alienation from the natural environment caused by the commodification of nature. The analysis focuses on the novels “Proščanie s Matëroj” (Farewell to Matyora, 1976) by Valentin Rasputin and “Zona zatoplenija” (Flood Zone, 2015) by Roman Senčin, and seeks to highlight how literature, both in the Soviet Union and in modern Russia, deals with the critical discourse on environmental issues, the protection of nature, human freedom, and dignity of living beings

La petro-cultura in Russia. Dai prodotti petroliferi ai prodotti letterari

This essay explores the cultural meaning and social significance of oil in Soviet and post-Soviet Russian culture through the analysis of two literary case studies. The first is a story written by I. Babel in 1934; the second is authored by D. Bykov and was published in 2017. Both are entitled Neft’ (Oil). The analysis follows the notion expressed in Bruno Latour’s Politics of nature (1999) which regards oil as a “miracle-product” of our time with potentially nefarious consequences. From the anthropocentric optimism of the Soviet era to the present-day sense that oil has become an uncontrollable “object”, this hybrid of nature and culture holds a significant and diverse place in Russian literature. This essay explores the cultural meaning and social significance of oil in Soviet and post-Soviet Russian culture through the analysis of two literary case studies. Paediatric laser dentistry. Part 3: Dental trauma

    Get PDF
Dental traumas are frequent and sometimes complex events, and at times real emergencies. There are no wellcoded guidelines for laser applications in these clinical events. Laser-assisted therapy can offer new treatment possibilities, simplify dental procedures, reduce postoperative sensitivity and the need for post-operative medications because of the laser-induced biostimulating and anti-inflammatory effects

Instabilità gravitazionale in dischi gassosi politropici

    Get PDF
