Sexist education is transmitted inside and outside of schools through social relations among individuals, which contributes to men and women (re)product different social places from the allocation of social gender roles. That process leads to different forms of construction of behavior, interests and choices, including work-related ones. We conducted a literature review, in this databases: portal of e-journal Psychology (PePSIC) Virtual Health Library - Psychology (BVS-PSI), Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) and the thesis database of Coordination Higher Level Personnel Training (CAPES) and books and journals cataloged in the library of the Universidade Estadual Paulista "Julio de Mesquita Filho", campus of Bauru, in order to investigate how education, formal and informal, permeated by gender influences the interests and career choices. It was noted the importance of reflection and discussion on gender issues with regard to professional interests and choices and the consequent production of new studies on the subject, since gender inequalities experienced in society, so the labor organizations, limit choices, relationships, development and can harm the health of people.
Original articles Gastric cancer and detoxifying genes in a colombian population
Abstract The objective was to establish whether there are associations between gastric cancer (GC) and unfavorable polymorphisms in GSTM1, GSTP1 and GSTT1 detoxifying genes. Simultaneously interactions of smoking habits, alcohol consumption and socioeconomic levels were investigated as possible risk factors in a Colombian population with a high incidence of GC. 87 patients affected by GC and 87 controls from the same population group in the Department of Caldas participated in the research. All patients were genotyped by PCR for GSTM1-null, GSTP1-val and GSTT1-null polymorphisms. Information about tobacco smoking, alcohol consumption and socioeconomic levels was collected. Results suggest that the GSTM1-nul genotype and GSTP1-val allele are significant risk factors as are low and medium socioeconomic levels. Significant interaction between tobacco smoking, low socioeconomic levels and GC risks were also detected. To conclude, there is significant interaction between environment and genes, particularly between the GSTT1-nulle genotype and GSTP1-val allele and low socioeconomic levels, tobacco smoking and the risk of GC development within this Colombian region's population

Work is one of the fundamental elements for building the human identity. In this way, the Career Guidance (CG), whose character is reflective, increases choice processes, and can favour further relations from students to work. This article treated about university extension actions guided to four groups of young apprentices, whose families have low scholarity and income. Besides the synthesis of the objectives and methods of the project, they were transcripted students' narratives about the benefits they achieved, and the conclusions of Psychology students who were envolved. The qualitative comprehension of those data allowed to consider that the CG activities widened the self-knowledge, the choice and development possibilities of the participants. It is suggested the expansion of these practices.O trabalho é um dos elementos fundamentais na construção da identidade humana.
NEOTROPICAL XENARTHRANS: a data set of occurrence of xenarthran species in the Neotropics
Xenarthrans—anteaters, sloths, and armadillos—have essential functions for ecosystem maintenance, such as insect control and nutrient cycling, playing key roles as ecosystem engineers. Because of habitat loss and fragmentation, hunting pressure, and conflicts with domestic dogs, these species have been threatened locally, regionally, or even across their full distribution ranges. The Neotropics harbor 21 species of armadillos, 10 anteaters, and 6 sloths. Our data set includes the families Chlamyphoridae (13), Dasypodidae (7), Myrmecophagidae (3), Bradypodidae (4), and Megalonychidae (2). We have no occurrence data on Dasypus pilosus (Dasypodidae). Regarding Cyclopedidae, until recently, only one species was recognized, but new genetic studies have revealed that the group is represented by seven species. In this data paper, we compiled a total of 42,528 records of 31 species, represented by occurrence and quantitative data, totaling 24,847 unique georeferenced records. The geographic range is from the southern United States, Mexico, and Caribbean countries at the northern portion of the Neotropics, to the austral distribution in Argentina, Paraguay, Chile, and Uruguay. Regarding anteaters, Myrmecophaga tridactyla has the most records (n = 5,941), and Cyclopes sp. have the fewest (n = 240). The armadillo species with the most data is Dasypus novemcinctus (n = 11,588), and the fewest data are recorded for Calyptophractus retusus (n = 33). With regard to sloth species, Bradypus variegatus has the most records (n = 962), and Bradypus pygmaeus has the fewest (n = 12). Our main objective with Neotropical Xenarthrans is to make occurrence and quantitative data available to facilitate more ecological research, particularly if we integrate the xenarthran data with other data sets of Neotropical Series that will become available very soon (i.e., Neotropical Carnivores, Neotropical Invasive Mammals, and Neotropical Hunters and Dogs). Therefore, studies on trophic cascades, hunting pressure, habitat loss, fragmentation effects, species invasion, and climate change effects will be possible with the Neotropical Xenarthrans data set. Please cite this data paper when using its data in publications. We also request that researchers and teachers inform us of how they are using these data
