Effect of single layer centrifugation using Androcoll-E-Large on the sperm quality parameters of cooled-stored donkey semen doses

The aim of this study was to determine the effect of single layer centrifugation (SLC) using Androcoll-E-Large on donkey sperm quality parameters after 24 h of cool-storage. Ejaculates were collected from Andalusian donkeys and then cooled at 5°C. SLC was carried out after 24 h of cool-storage using Androcoll-E-Large. In the first experiment, all sperm parameters assessed (total and progressive sperm motility, viability, sperm morphology and sperm kinematics VCL, VSL, VAP, LIN, STR, WOB, ALH and BCF) were statistically compared between semen samples processed or not with Androcoll-E-Large. Significant differences ( P<0.05) were found between SLC-selected and unselected semen samples for all parameters assessed, obtaining better results after SLC. In the second experiment, semen samples were classified in two groups according to their sperm progressive motility (PM) before SLC. Then, the increments obtained in semen quality parameters after SLC were compared between groups. No significant differences were found between groups, indicating that SLC improved the sperm quality parameters of entire set of semen samples processed with independence to their original PM. The bionomy of free living larvae of Dictyocaulus Viviparus (Nematoda: Dictyocaulidae)

For three years we have studied the incidence of Dictrvocaulus riviparus larvae on pasture. The study was made on four plots where fighting bulls grazed. Parasitation was detected throughout all the year, with maximum values of 812-522 larvae/k. pasture in the months of February, March and April. The climatic factors (temperature and rainfall) were significant determining factors on the parasitic burden of the pasture.Se realiza, durante tres años, un estudio de la incidencia de larvas de Dictyocaulus viviparus en pasto, en cuatro parcelas donde pasta ganado de lidia en régimen extensivo. La parasitación se detectó durante todo el año, con valores máximos de 812 y 522 larvas por kilo de pasto seco en los meses de febrero, marzo y abril. Estos estudios se relacionan con los factures climáticos (temperatura y pluviosidad), que se mostraron significativamente influyentes en las variaciones de la carga parasitaria

Effects of pronifer administration an coccidiosis coused by E. necatrix and E. mitis in chickens

The efficiency of a biological supplement to animal feed, Pronifer, is analysed, as a preventative for chicken coccidiosis, by innoculation of esporulated oocysts of E. necatrix and E. mitis. From our experiments we have found that the efficiency of Pronifer, is similar to that of the commercial coccidiostat, but we estimate it necessary to make further investigations before expresing a definite criterion of validity.Se investiga la eficacia de un suplemento biológico para la alimentación animal, pronifer, como preventivo de las coccidiosis de los pollitos mediante inoculación experimental de una suspensión de ooquistes esporulados de Eimeria necatrix y E. mitis. Observation of the J/ψ→μ+μ−μ+μ− {\mathrm{J}/\psi} \to\mu^{+}\mu^{-}\mu^{+}\mu^{-} decay in proton-proton collisions at s= \sqrt{s} = 13 TeV

The ${\mathrm{J}/\psi} \to\mu^{+}\mu^{-}\mu^{+}\mu^{-}$ decay has been observed with a statistical significance in excess of five standard deviations. The analysis is based on an event sample of proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, collected by the CMS experiment in 2018 and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 33.6 fb$^{-1}$. Normalizing to the ${\mathrm{J}/\psi} \to\mu^{+}\mu^{-}$ decay mode leads to a branching fraction of $[$ 10.1 $^{+3.3}_{-2.7}$ (stat) $\pm$ 0.4 (syst) $] \times$ 10$^{-7}$, a value that is consistent with the standard model prediction.The J/ψ→μ+μ-μ+μ- decay has been observed with a statistical significance in excess of five standard deviations.
