Religions constitute one of humankind’s most valued cultural manifestations, as well as being a source of wisdom. They embrace questions on the origin and future of the universe, the destiny of mankind and the meaning, or meaninglessness, of human existence. Religious institutions have frequently operated as a source of fanaticism and intolerance, and as a violent factor. Humanity needs religions that encourage peaceful cooperation between its peoples and the recognition of all its cultures.Las religiones constituyen una de las manifestaciones culturales más preciadas de la humanidad y una fuente de sabiduría. En ellas se encuentran depositadas algunas de las preguntas sobre el origen y el futuro del universo, el destino de la humanidad y el sentido o sinsentido de la existencia humana. Con frecuencia las instituciones religiosas han operado como fuente de fanatismo e intolerancia y como factor de violencia. La humanidad necesita religiones que fomenten la cooperación pacífica entre los pueblos y el reconocimiento de todas las culturas

Through his writings and reflections, the Königsberg professor established the ethical and political foundations of a society which, moving away from any kind of despotic absolutism, needed to find a rational explanation for the contemporary world. Evaluation toolkit for educational institutions. Increasing impact on senior learners' quality of life

En la present guia s'ofereix, en primer lloc, els fonaments sobre els quals ha de construir-se qualsevol acció educativa dirigida a estudiants majors, així com els conceptes bàsics sobre qualitat de vida relacionada amb les persones majors i les necessitats i riscos específics de les persones majors, així com les oportunitats i potencialitats existents. L'increment de l'esperança de vida i de la salut aconsegueix que els majors siguen un grup cada vegada més significatiu en la nostra societat europea; actualment no solament viuen més anys i són més actius sinó també posseeixen major nivell de formació i inquietuds.En la presente guía se ofrece, en primer lugar, los fundamentos sobre los que debe construirse cualquier acción educativa dirigida a estudiantes mayores, así como los conceptos básicos sobre calidad de vida relacionada con las personas mayores y las necesidades y riesgos específicos de las personas mayores, así como las oportunidades y potencialidades existentes. El incremento de la esperanza de vida y de la salud logra que los mayores sean un grupo cada vez más significativo en nuestra sociedad europea; actualmente no solo viven más años y son más activos sino también poseen mayor nivel de formación e inquietudes.This pedagogical guide is the first of the two main outcomes of the EduSenior project, the second being a tool designed to evaluate educational institutions. The guide can be used by any person interested in education for senior citizens. It introduces the main concepts of quality of life, ageing and the social context of the elderly to learn, first, about seniors' context and needs. It then explains the pedagogies, models, contents and staff skills that have the greatest impact on senior learners' quality of life. The guide also includes European information and experiences on each of these topics

Religión y autonomía: la importancia del respeto

The intelligent way of interpreting religious feelings consists of getting away from superstitions and getting into the religion of solidarity between human beings. All religions share a common ground of values that make up the fundamentals upon which a solidarity ethic has to be established. Human beings must use their powers to promote good in the world, excluding nobody and, even more important, not expecting an external power to carry out a task which is their sole responsibility. Key words: anthropology, ethics, religion, politics.La posibilidad más inteligible para interpretar las creencias religiosas consiste en salir de las supersticiones y conseguir a través de la solidaridad religiosa lo que lo humano desea ser. Todas las religiones presentan como punto de partida un soporte común de valores que establecen aspectos que están más allá, los cuales señalan una ética solidaria. El ser humano debe utilizar sus fuerzas para promover el bien en el mundo, no excluyendo a nadie y, lo que es más importante, no esperar una fuerza externa para llevar a cabo la tarea de su exclusiva responsabilidad.
