Reduction and construction of Poisson quasi-Nijenhuis manifolds with background
We extend the Falceto-Zambon version of Marsden-Ratiu Poisson reduction to
Poisson quasi-Nijenhuis structures with background on manifolds. We define
gauge transformations of Poisson quasi-Nijenhuis structures with background,
study some of their properties and show that they are compatible with reduction
procedure. We use gauge transformations to construct Poisson quasi-Nijenhuis

Some antecedents and outcomes of passionate desire for fashion clothes and accessories
Fashion trends and consumer-fashion brand relationships have been subject of study for both researchers and practitioners. Yet, as far as we know, there is a lack of analysis of the process behind the creation of a fashion trend, in previous studies. Therefore the main goal of this research was to start to understand the process behind the creation of a fashion passion for clothes and accessories, particularly to understand in what extend do narcissism and social values influence passionate desire and then, the way passionate desire influences positive word-of-mouth and affective commitment. Findings reveal that Social values have a positive and significant direct effect on Passionate desire. Yet, the strength of the relationship between Narcissism and Passionate desire is weak. The strength of the relationship between Passionate desire and word-of-mouth is weaker than the relationship between Passionate desire and Affective commitment. Homogeneous metallicities and radial velocities for Galactic globular clusters. II. New CaT metallicities for 28 distant and reddened globular clusters
Although the globular clusters in the Milky Way have been studied for a long
time, a significant fraction of them lack homogeneous metallicity and radial
velocity measurements. In an earlier paper we presented the first part of a
project to obtain metallicities and radial velocities of Galactic globular
clusters from multiobject spectroscopy of their member stars using the ESO Very
Large Telescope. In this paper we add metallicities and radial velocities for a
new sample of 28 globular clusters, including in particular globular clusters
in the MW halo and the Galactic bulge. Together with our previous results, this
study brings the number of globular clusters with homogeneous measurements to
\% of those listed in the W. Harris' catalogue. As in our previous
work, we have used the CaII triplet lines to derive metallicities and radial
velocities. For most of the clusters in this study, this is the first analysis
based on spectroscopy of individual member stars. The metallicities derived
from the CaII triplet are then compared to the results of our parallel study
based on spectral fitting in the optical region and the implications for
different calibrations of the CaII triplet line strengths are discussed. We
also comment on some interesting clusters and investigate the presence of an
abundance spread in the globular clusters here. A hint of a possible intrinsic
spread is found for NGC 6256, which therefore appears to be a good candidate

Predicting Intermediate Storage Performance for Workflow Applications
Configuring a storage system to better serve an application is a challenging
task complicated by a multidimensional, discrete configuration space and the
high cost of space exploration (e.g., by running the application with different
storage configurations). To enable selecting the best configuration in a
reasonable time, we design an end-to-end performance prediction mechanism that
estimates the turn-around time of an application using storage system under a
given configuration. This approach focuses on a generic object-based storage
system design, supports exploring the impact of optimizations targeting
workflow applications (e.g., various data placement schemes) in addition to
other, more traditional, configuration knobs (e.g., stripe size or replication
level), and models the system operation at data-chunk and control message
level.
This paper presents our experience to date with designing and using this
prediction mechanism. We evaluate this mechanism using micro- as well as
synthetic benchmarks mimicking real workflow applications, and a real
application.. A preliminary evaluation shows that we are on a good track to
meet our objectives: it can scale to model a workflow application run on an
entire cluster while offering an over 200x speedup factor (normalized by
resource) compared to running the actual application, and can achieve, in the
limited number of scenarios we study, a prediction accuracy that enables
identifying the best storage system configuration
Long-term Variability of HCO Masers in Star-forming Regions
We present results of a multi-epoch monitoring program on variability of
6cm formaldehyde (HCO) masers in the massive star forming region
NGC7538IRS1 from 2008 to 2015 conducted with the GBT, WSRT, and
VLA. We found that the similar variability behaviors of the two formaldehyde
maser velocity components in NGC7538IRS1 (which was pointed out by
Araya and collaborators in 2007) have continued. The possibility that the
variability is caused by changes in the maser amplification path in regions
with similar morphology and kinematics is discussed. We also observed
12.2GHz methanol and 22.2GHz water masers toward
NGC7538IRS1. The brightest maser components of CHOH and HO
species show a decrease in flux density as a function of time. The brightest
HCO maser component also shows a decrease in flux density and has a similar
LSR velocity to the brightest HO and 12.2GHz CHOH masers. The line
parameters of radio recombination lines and the 20.17 and 20.97GHz CHOH
transitions in NGC7538IRS1 are also reported. In addition, we
observed five other 6cm formaldehyde maser regions. We found no evidence of
significant variability of the 6cm masers in these regions with respect to
previous observations, the only possible exception being the maser in
G29.960.02. All six sources were also observed in the HCO
isotopologue transition of the 6cm HCO line; HCO absorption
was detected in five of the sources. Estimated column density ratios

Photoallergic reaction to cyamemazine.
A 50-year-old man presented with a scaly erythema of the face, upper chest, forearms, and dorsum of the hands. He has been treated with cyamemazine for 6 months. Photopatch tests were performed and the patient was diagnosed with photoallergic reaction to cyamemazine. The drug was discontinued and a course of oral steroids was prescribed. The patient was advised to avoid light exposure. There has been no evidence of recurrence during a six-month follow-up period. Photoallergic reactions are much less frequent than phototoxic disorders. It is well known that several drugs including neuroleptics of the phenothiazine family may produce a skin eruption on light-exposed areas by dose-dependent (phototoxic) or photoallergic mechanisms. It is believed that photopatch testing, which is the clinical investigation of choice for suspected photoallergic reactions, is significantly underused in Europe and probably world-wide
On semiclassical calculation of three-point functions in AdS_5 \times T^(1,1)
Recently there has been progress on the computation of two- and three-point
correlation functions with two "heavy" states via semiclassical methods. We
extend this analysis to the case of AdS_5 \times T^(1,1), and examine the
suggested procedure for the case of several simple string solutions. By making
use of AdS/CFT duality, we derive the relevant correlation functions of

The First VLT FORS1 spectra of Lyman-break candidates in the HDF-S and AXAF Deep Field
We report on low-resolution multi-object spectroscopy of 30 faint targets (R
\~ 24-25) in the HDF-S and AXAF deep field obtained with the VLT Focal
Reducer/low dispersion Spectrograph (FORS1). Eight high-redshift galaxies with
2.75< z < 4 have been identified. The spectroscopic redshifts are in good
agreement with the photometric ones with a dispersion at z<2
and at z>2. The inferred star formation rates of the
individual objects are moderate, ranging from a few to a few tens solar masses
per year. Five out of the eight high-z objects do not show prominent emission
lines. One object has a spectrum typical of an AGN. In the AXAF field two
relatively close pairs of galaxies have been identified, with separations of
8.7 and 3.1 proper Mpc and mean redshifts of 3.11 and 3.93, respectively.Comment: 5 pages Latex, with 2 PostScript figures. Astronomy and Astrophysics,
