Controlpec 1.0: controle financeiro simplificado para a fazenda de pecuária de corte.

A maioria dos produtores de gado de corte não realiza adequadamente o controle de receitas e despesas de sua atividade. Como a lucratividade da pecuária de corte tem se reduzido pela queda no preço de seus produtos e pela alta nos custos de produção, tal função tornou-se crucial para aqueles que querem se manter no negócio. Para atender essa demanda, a Embrapa Gado de Corte desenvolveu, em ambiente Excel, o Controlpec 1.0, uma ferramenta simples e de fácil utilização pelos produtores. Com base no movimento financeiro da fazenda são gerados relatórios que consolidam despesas, receitas e margens econômicas da atividade, tendo em conta o plano de contas definido pelo usuário. Tunable asymmetric magnetoimpedance effect in ferromagnetic NiFe/Cu/Co films

We investigate the magnetization dynamics through the magnetoimpedance effect in ferromagnetic NiFe/Cu/Co films. We observe that the magnetoimpedance response is dependent on the thickness of the non-magnetic Cu spacer material, a fact associated to the kind of the magnetic interaction between the ferromagnetic layers. Thus, we present an experimental study on asymmetric magnetoimpedance in ferromagnetic films with biphase magnetic behavior and explore the possibility of tuning the linear region of the magnetoimpedance curves around zero magnetic field by varying the thickness of the non-magnetic spacer material, and probe current frequency. We discuss the experimental magnetoimpedance results in terms of the different mechanisms governing the magnetization dynamics at distinct frequency ranges, quasi-static magnetic properties, thickness of the non-magnetic spacer material, and the kind of the magnetic interaction between the ferromagnetic layers. The results place ferromagnetic films with biphase magnetic behavior exhibiting asymmetric magnetoimpedance effect as a very attractive candidate for application as probe element in the development of auto-biased linear magnetic field sensors.Comment: 5 figure

Touros melhoradores ou inseminação artificial: um exercício de avaliação econômica.

A pecuária de corte é uma atividade complexa, que envolve um grande número de variáveis. Dentre as decissões a tomar, destacam-se aquelas ligadas à área de reprodução, começando com a escolha entre monta natural e inseminação artificial. Por seu turno, diversas opções estão disponíveis em cada um desses processos. Quanto à monta natural, é preciso definir a qualidade e, consequentemente, o preço a pagar pelos touros. Na opção por inseminação, há alternativas quanto ao valor genético e preço do sêmen, além da possibilidade de realizar a sincronização de cio das fêmeas. Este trabalho discute os aspectos econômicos da decisão relacionada com o uso de monta natural ou inseminação artificial, bem como analisa o impacto no sistema de produção de variáveis, como preço de touro e de sêmen a taxa de prenhez. Mental health services utilization after Mariana dam burst

Abstract Background The global burden of mental health conditions is increasing, especially in middle- and low-income countries and frequently the quality of mental health services is lower than the quality of services for other conditions. Disasters may increase this burden through their direct impact or due to secondary stressors, such as the preclusion of access to essential services. The aim of this study is to assess the impact of Mariana dam burst (Brazil) in November 2015, in the utilization of public mental health services by the population that experienced an interruption of water supply after the event. Methods We used data from DATASUS, the database of the Brazilian public health system, analyzing data from 34 months before to 36 months after the event. We defined as affected the population living in the municipalities of Minas Gerais state that had an interruption of water supply after the event and the rest of the state population as the comparison group. We designed an Interrupted time-series analysis to evaluate both immediate and gradual changes in use of mental health services after the accident. Results The affected population included 381,749 inhabitants and the comparison group 20,487,352 inhabitants. The monthly rate of mental health visits in the affected population in the beginning of the series was 296 (CI 182 to 409, p < 0.001) per 100.000 person-month. Comparing the groups after the event, we observed a non-statistically significant higher increase in the rate of visits immediately after the event of 115.96 (CI -30.00 to 261.92, p = 0.118) and a significant increase in the monthly rate of visits (change in slope) of 15.55 (CI 8.19 to 22.92, p < 0.001) in the affected group. Discussion The results suggest that the event translated in a long-term increase in mental health services utilization. We believe that this study presents an innovative methodology on the assessment of mental health services after disasters and that it could be adapted to other contexts. Key messages Indirect impacts of disasters may be associated with long-term changes in the utilization of mental health services. Interrupted time series using routine data are useful tools for the assessment of health services utilization following disasters
